Webbo Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 What are you talking about being pearsons argent for? You're making the alternatives look so bad we'll stick with him.
Bettsj2 Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 Betts, who do you think we could attract, Pearson or not? Even in the current situation, decent players will still come. Anyone with a point to prove will come. +1 The summer was the time we were an attractive proposition. We missed so many targets in the summer we've put ourselves in a bad position squad wise. Pulis can attract a better quality of player because of his record at Stoke and what he did at Palace. I'm not going to ream off a list of players as its pointless.
Fox Ulike Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 I have to admit I do feel Pearson is the problem at the moment. The bizarre 4 central midfielders has been replaced by a naive and archaic 442. We need five in midfield. This isnt "tactics" its just what everyone else does away from home. Why bring andy king on for a fading Cambiasso in the 90th minute? Why did we have TWO wingers but no centre-forward (ie Chris Wood) on the bench? I trust in Pearson to sort this out. But he is making heavy weather of things at the moment
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 Nope we don't need Glenn Hoddle.. Not THIS season. We are in a dogfight, make no mistake, and the last thing we need is a bloke to come in to start advocating pretty football. If we change Pearson, we need a bloke with experience of being in this position. Someone who can take this bunch, get them playing 'hard' and to their strengths. Pulis is about the only option I can think of. The owners need to decide soon. Stick with Nige whatever or get it done.
Monsell1976 Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 Go to the games then you will have a valid opinion. Anyone that wants Pearson sacked is crazy, it's the players not him.I go every home and away so I am allowed to say, Pearson is to blame, his players, his tactics, his responsibility
Happy Fox Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 Another suggestion that came to mind a Frenchie in Remi Garde.
buzzy Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 Shut up you negative child. Who do we get in? Who will improve our side right now? You make me sick imo happy to be back in the championship next season then. you pearson arse lickers need to get your tongues back in your mouths. pearson isnot up to this job and should be sacked this cannot go on. losing to a team that finished 20 odd points behind us last season . picking up just 2 points since man utd ****ng joke . pearson out
Soar Fox Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 Any side that sacks their manager, the season after promotion, while they're one point off 17th place deserves everything they get. Yeah Southampton are really getting everything they deserve for sacking Nigel Adkins when they were 15th.
Stevosevic Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 Yeah Southampton are really getting everything they deserve for sacking Nigel Adkins when they were 15th. Awful decision by them.
johnny the fox Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 Looks like we have a lot of the Black Friday shoppers mentality on here.. depressing..

Bettsj2 Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 With much of the same squad from the last time we got promoted I think we could be fairly confident of going straight back up. It's certainly more likely than a new manager coming in and being the difference between survival and relegation this season. That's because they've all had to rebuild. We'd only have to rebuild if fans calling for Pearson's head are listened to. League's progress all the time and the Championship is no different. All those who miss out on promotion this year will no doubt be stronger next. Players like Wes, Was and Konch would be another year older and coming to the end and many of the team would want out. Rebuilding would be inevitable regardless of who is in charge.
stillwater Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 Reminds me of the Peter Taylor era, top of the league then plummeted into oblivion. NP is making the same mistakes, he either learns fast or gets out of dodge. We don't want to spend another ten years waiting for promotion
Matt Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 How about taking a different approach, instead of the manager, sack 1 or 2 players, it would put the cat amonst the pigeons, I know we can't lose too many players, we don't have the biggest squad but I can think of 1, 2, and more players we could lose and wouldn't miss, the players might step up and start thinking about bucking their ideas up aswell, with the transfer window round the corner we'll be able to replace them shortly.
theessexfox Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 Wouldn't get rid but lost the will to defend him. Didn't follow the game but it's another depressing result, we're becoming a laughing stock. Gonna have to steer clear of this forum for a while.
lgfualol Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 So really, I'm gonna be cheeky for saying this, one of the main reasons we want Pearson to stay because next season in the championship he'll be a good manager. We'll be up and down for the next 4 years. I want Pearson and team to prove me wrong. Make me bad make me. Wouldn't get rid but lost the will to defend him. Didn't follow the game but it's another depressing result, we're becoming a laughing stock. Gonna have to steer clear of this forum for a while. Wont you be back for Liverpool on Tuesday?

buzzy Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 talking about records pearsons record after 13 games in prem is worse then mickey adams by 2points but better then peter taylors record by 1 point in the relegation years

I think NOW is key, If we stick with BIG NIGE we need to stick with him for the rest of the season no matter what the result. If we are going to change, we need to change NOW, so the new man can spend the next month analyzing what changes we need to make. Knowing leicester though we will just wait until mid january and sack him, then bring someone in who panic buys and takes us down anyway.

That would be a sensible scenario. Could live with that. Something with this squad isn't quite right at the moment - it's as if one half cares, whilst the other half is insulted because of the lack of playing time or something in that department. Pearson addresses the defensive problems and the back four play rather well, but our strikers turn into a fail state. Now it's our defending that's shit again and our goalscoring draught that has come to an end. Something needs to be done so that we can show up on a matchday being able to rely on all areas of the team. Maybe the ban or sale of one or two more "negative" elements within the team would send a signal to the rest.

Why would a squad that was so solid last season suddenly become completely divided? I thought Pearson was good at man management? Who have we added that would create such a rift?
Harry - LCFC Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 League's progress all the time and the Championship is no different. All those who miss out on promotion this year will no doubt be stronger next. Players like Wes, Was and Konch would be another year older and coming to the end and many of the team would want out. Rebuilding would be inevitable regardless of who is in charge. James, King, Drinkwater, Ulloa, Vardy, Albrighton and De Laet are all on four year deals. Schlupp, Hamer and Moore are likely to stay IMO. The core of the squad would likely still be there if we go down. Having seen what happened in the transition from the 12/13 season to the 13/14 season while retaining the core of a squad who finished 6th, I think we have good reason to be optimistic of our chances were we to go down with Pearson.
GingerrrFox Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 We need to get rid of players the are frankly not good enough for this level. Not necessarily get rid of the manager. We are crying out for better quality in the squad especially at right back, left back, attacking midfield and striker. If we had a better quality of player than De Laet, Konchesky, Nugent, Wood etc Nope we don't need Glenn Hoddle.. Not THIS season. We are in a dogfight, make no mistake, and the last thing we need is a bloke to come in to start advocating pretty football. If we change Pearson, we need a bloke with experience of being in this position. This is ridiculous. The reason we are losing at the moment is that we aren't playing football to the level that MOST of the squad are capable of. We don't need to toughen up, we need to play more intelligent football. We don't need Tony Pulis. We lost 3-2 against QPR playing hoof ball for 90 minutes. We need to get back to actually playing football.
