The_77 Posted 21 January 2015 Posted 21 January 2015 Darren Fletcher (maybe not so realistic after looking at his wages).
MC Prussian Posted 21 January 2015 Posted 21 January 2015 Darren Fletcher (maybe not so realistic after looking at his wages). Thought he was off to Spain?
Blanchflower78 Posted 22 January 2015 Posted 22 January 2015 with the window drawing close and nothing 'inspiring' happening cant help but fear we havent enough for the run-in......
teblin Posted 22 January 2015 Posted 22 January 2015 with the window drawing close and nothing 'inspiring' happening cant help but fear we havent enough for the run-in...... Other than signing europe's 2nd top scorer you mean?
JJS84 Posted 22 January 2015 Posted 22 January 2015 Other than signing europe's 2nd top scorer you mean? while I agree with you that signing Krama was a very big signing for us, I also see Blanch's point that to date I don't think we have done enough within this window for what the squad could do with to help in the fight against relegation. having said that deadline day is looming and fingers crossed we will do a bit before then.
foxfanazer Posted 22 January 2015 Posted 22 January 2015 Still think Yuri Zhirkov could be a good signing. Wages could be a problem
Vossen Posted 22 January 2015 Posted 22 January 2015 Abou Diaby out of contract & if fit a hell of a Midfielder
EnderbyFox Posted 22 January 2015 Posted 22 January 2015 The bloke has only played like twice in the past five years, would be a massive waste of money.
filbertway Posted 22 January 2015 Posted 22 January 2015 Out of contract & if fit a hell of a Midfielder Probably best to stick this in the transfer/speculation forum. I don't know about anybody else but if I see a player's name as a thread title in this part of the forum I assume they have signed for us. Unless it's a Leicester player, then it's the topic starter's chance to mention how much they hate that particular player at least 20 times.
Blanchflower78 Posted 22 January 2015 Posted 22 January 2015 fair comment Teblin. I feel that there are other areas that need urgent attention that we perhaps may struggle to do so now. Fingers crossed.
Giggsy77 Posted 22 January 2015 Posted 22 January 2015 Potentials signings are in stalemate according to James Sharpe. Looks like Robinson paid the price, yet we still have the same problem. Could it be Pearson cant attract the bigger names?. Whatever it is, we are making a pigs ear of this season. We have waited 10 years to be back where we belong and now look like going back there. Kramaric is a great signing but I fear he will play this season and go. Slate me if you want but something somewhere is not right.

No player good enough to make a difference will come to us as we look like relegation favourites. Just throwing money at it will not help, it will attract the wrong sort of player, when the going gets tough, they are just here for the cheque. Try and strengthen by all means, maybe we can get a decent left back, but we will not land a creative player or another striker that will be any better than what we have. We have to battle hard and survive, it's possible, we are not yet off the pace but it will be seriously difficult.
kingfox Posted 22 January 2015 Posted 22 January 2015 His targets are probably unrealistic, Okazaki for me is an unrealistic option and I'm not surprised to see that dragging on, because we are probably not willing to pay £10 mill. Top class players won't want to come to us; however there's still quality players out there who could make a difference, there will be players in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Holland chomping at the bit to join us, Italy and Germany are plastered in players who are not getting game time. He probably has a list on unrealistic targets, or yet again we are shit at negotiating.

If this was the summer window I would agree, but with only 16 games left I doubt anyone could come in from europe and make the kind of immediate impact we need. To be honest, I don't even see Kramaric making that much of a difference. If we are going to stand a chance of staying up we need some fighting performances, the game at Anfield showed the way.

Italy, Holland, Belgium, France, even Switzerland are all places where you can find good players at a discount price. Players that can make an impact immediately. Remember, apart from the top clubs, you still pay a wage that is far higher then at over 90% of the clubs in mainland Europe. The majority of the player will sign for you. LB and a CM are two positions that you need to sign a player. Get them to put pen on paper and start training and than concentrate on a CB. English players are just too expensive. You'd do better to sign a couple of youngsters which you wouldn't pay to much, from Championship and Scotland, slowly start playing them. Have them in rotation The first 11 players you'll find over the Channel. Cheaper. And better.
Callabinho Posted 22 January 2015 Posted 22 January 2015 I think that's it now, this window is impossible to do business in.
Max Power Posted 22 January 2015 Posted 22 January 2015 Chung Yong Lee going Palace for just over £1m. Bargain. Would have been a good addition for us.

To be honest, I don't even see Kramaric making that much of a difference. If we are going to stand a chance of staying up we need some fighting performances, the game at Anfield showed the way. You look in the Premier League also though, surely there's players out there in need of game time, who would be willing to come and help us out. Some of the players the likes of West Brom & Palace have been linked with, would not be unrealistic targets for us. People want a CB, your telling me players like Robert Huth wouldn't want to join us on loan? Mahrez came in and made an immediate impact, there's tones of players who are out there capable of doing that, it just depends where the hell he is looking. As Tripe said you look at the French and Italy leagues for example, even Holland, Belgium, Switzerland as he said, I'd even add Greece & Austria to the mix, there is realistic talent out there who would come to us & if we drop down a division more than likely stay. Players like Okazaki, Defoe, Corluka, take the piss because we either are not willing to pay the fee asked, or wage demands are too much. That isn't going to be the case for every player though, and as I said about the Premier League I bet there's players chomping at the bit to get some game time.
Fox 4 Life Posted 22 January 2015 Posted 22 January 2015 Pearson on SSN saying we are struggling to bring targets in, Krammy could be it!
Dan Posted 22 January 2015 Posted 22 January 2015 He's come out with similar many a time so I won't join the inevitable slagging off he'll get for that, but I will be worried, very, very worried if we don't bring any more players in. Our attack was (and may still be) a problem but the base of our team is a bigger one. If we enter February with Konchesky as our first choice left back that is outright mis-management for me.
Giggsy77 Posted 22 January 2015 Posted 22 January 2015 Well the problem is Pearson didn't strengthen in the summer, we weren't bottom then. 10 years we wait for premier football, then we make a pigs ear of it.
