chicagofox Posted 25 January 2015 Posted 25 January 2015 Since when do you see Nigel going out and buying someone just because they have potential. He buys a player that will fit in, someone whose been scouted for 1-2 years and one with the right attitude and won't cause a rift Tom Lawrence?
TheMightyFox Posted 25 January 2015 Posted 25 January 2015 Tom Lawrence? You don't think Nigel and his team hadn't been scouting him for a while?
Bettsj2 Posted 25 January 2015 Posted 25 January 2015 A loan or 2 look nailed on but could change if a transfer comes off So many things need to fall into place most of which are reliant on things out of LCFC's control but if they do its a domino affect Big game of poker really Agents have totally fecked things up the greedy bstards So its not worth me checking twitter and the transfer forum every 10 minutes then? Have to wait till deadline day?

Tuna Posted 25 January 2015 Posted 25 January 2015 Joe Bryan from brizzle city looks like a decent left back and only young..... get the cheque book out nige Oh for crying out loud, one game and its get the cheque book out. On that basis lets sign the kid from Blyth that works in a paper shop and bring back Gallagher.
ramadaone Posted 25 January 2015 Posted 25 January 2015 So its not worth me checking twitter and the transfer forum every 10 minutes then? Have to wait till deadline day? All I'm saying is you need a lot of ducks in line and when you only control say a third of them it's not as easy as some people think Let's say we have 4 targets for a certain position and we bid £5M , £25k per week on a 2 year contract to all 4 targets but we only want one of them Responses as follows ( player 1 is the one we want the most and so on ) Player 1. Club says he is worth a lot more than £5M nearer £10M - not spoken to Agent yet Player 2. Club wants £7M and player wants say £35k per week which breaks our supposed upper limit Player 3. Club happy with £5M but player wants £40k per week and. 3 year deal Player 4. Club won't sell but happy to loan player out What would peoples strategy be and how long do you think it would take to complete a deal ?
dbtcity Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 Oh for crying out loud, one game and its get the cheque book out. On that basis lets sign the kid from Blyth that works in a paper shop and bring back Gallagher. hardly, I don't see the local paper boy or Gallagher being tracked by prem clubs..... He is being tracked by them as he is clearly a talented young player, just like creswell was when West Ham decided to take the plunge!!! You don't think he'd be a good signing that's your opinion, my opinion is he has the potential to be a very good left back
Torten Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 Tommy Smith anyone? He's always played pretty well and don't Ipswich have one of the best defences in the champ? He's good mates with Wood which would help if he doesn't go out on loan

Torten Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 That's like asking if we want a sock full of s h i t.. Well, do you?
Jon the Hat Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 Totally true.....Then you get the situation arise where a free agent player suddenly reduces his demands, whilst an 'interested' contracted player has his 'asking fee' reduced by his club....Then you end up with a McCarthy/Cambiasso situation and have to accept ending up with a certain amount of egg on the face!! Anyone think we should not have signed McCarthur as well in the summer?
Wortho Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 I don't know if this has been mentioned, but what about Lee Tomlin.
Steven Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 I don't know if this has been mentioned, but what about Lee Tomlin. Yes and no.
Robin JD Popley Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 I know I've been banging on about us signing him for AGES but did you all see George Friend's overhead clearance against Man City on Saturday? Wish he was our left back.
chapero82 Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 It's gone so quiet, im starting to wonder if this is for signings now, I'm not saying we are not trying but I think players just do not want to come to us atm

Particularly for quality players. Yet on here some would have you believe that it can all be wrapped up in a week per transfer.

Yet on here some would have you believe that it can all be wrapped up in a week per transfer. I'm sure people think it works the same as on football manager
Ric Flair Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 Delle Alli going to Newcastle for £4 million, absolutely gutted. This kid has a lot of potential.
lcfcsnow Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 So even a club without a manager is doing better business than ourselves.
CosbehFox Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 So even a club without a manager is doing better business than ourselves. In what sense? We need players which can deliver now. Not next season. He's very, very likely to go MK Dons on loan for the rest of the season.
Bettsj2 Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 Delle Alli going to Newcastle for £4 million, absolutely gutted. This kid has a lot of potential. Fvcks sake. Another one we've missed out on. Club is an absolute joke.
RowlattsFox Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 So even a club without a manager is doing better business than ourselves. Yet no doubt you'd be saying why are we spending money on a lower league player of it was the other way round.
Dan Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 I definitely think we need more, but it's hard to lay into them too much when they've signed a potentially top forward this month.
NewquayFox Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 I'm sure Pearson has a couple of players in mind and it depends what offers they get from other teams, i know we are bottom of the league but there's still a long way to go and City are going to be in the FA Cup final too.....
