Anyone been Tunisia in the last few years?

Popping up a lot again.

I went Sousse in 2024, felt like it had a bit of reputation still hungover from 2015 when I told people.

Still, the resort was lovely, didn't really leave it but didn't need to for what we wanted at the time, was a great holiday, would go back.

We went last May and really enjoyed it, but we didn't leave the hotel, it was a proper switch off holiday.

We did get some anxiety with the terror attacks documentary popping up the night before we left of all nights!

For an all inclusive I'd definitely go back.

Costa Adeje in tenerife tomorrow for a week of lounging, can't wait

I can't recommend Siam water park enough. Great fun, even for big kids if it's something that suits you and who you're going with.

Also vouch for this, even though I had possibly the worst hangover of my life when I went.

Yeah, we're looking at going tomorrow,  it's a 10 min walk from where we are. Thanks

Has anyone done the p and o Norwegian cruise? I’ve never done a cruise or even thought it would be good but am now considering it

Yes, on the Iona. It's warmer than you think as they are all.summer cruises, nice one though.

I've been on lots of cruises, including the Norwegian Fjords, one of my favourite cruises. Not sailed with P&O, though.

Any tips for Paris next weekend?

It’s a bit of a marmite city but I love it. Just wander around as much as possible and take it in.

Ultimately depends what you’re into but I can recommend the Palace of Versailles and the gardens, they’re pretty spectacular.

Also Sacre Coeur worth a visit and has fantastic views.

If you want to tick off a lot of the touristy bits you can start at Arc de Triomphe, then just head in a straight line down Champs Elysees to tick off Concorde, Louvre, Notre Dame and then nip across to the Pantheon. It’s a reasonable length walk but worth doing.

Avoid the main touristy zones for food and you’ll not go wrong.

La Belle Hortense is one of my favourite bars, the bistro opposite also very good. One of those places you just keep ordering more courses and wine. In Le Marais.

Perraudin also a pretty good option for a restaurant that is relatively popular with tourists but still retains a quite authentic Parisian feel and has some very nice food.

The museums are obviously well known but Musee D'Orsay is incredible obviously. Sainte Chapelle is amazing but gets so busy. Would love to go in there one morning before it opens.

We usually stay in the 5th arrondissement which has some nice cafes, bars and restaurants away from the very touristy part of the Latin Quarter.

It's a great city.

Has anyone got any nice restaurants recommendations for Wells next to the sea?

The Crown does upmarket pub food. Bowling Green is heartier but still very nice.

Thinking of a trip to Australia but avoiding the long flight time to Sydney so considering Perth.  We'd have around 16 nights and thinking of staying in Fremantle and Margaret River, anyone been? I think @Jon the Hat might have some insight?

Hi Deb, while it doesn't have the world-famous landmarks, Perth / WA is a lovely place to visit, and the Qantas direct or various other options via the middle east or Singapore are pretty good.

We live close to Freo which I would say is more interesting than staying in the city and a good base to explore. You can get the train into Perth easily when you want to for Museums, Elizabeth Quay, Kings Park - free buses (CAT) once you get into the city and the train is super cheap if you get a Smartrider card for $20 (contactless credit cards also work but more expensive).

In Freo the Markets, lots of bars and restaurants, ferry to Rottnest to see some Quokkas and do some snorkelling.  Nice beaches around, we like Cottesloe, Leighton to the north (both on the Freo - Perth train line) and South Beach and our home beach Coogee to the south - Cogee and Cottesloe both have a Shark net if you are concerned about swimming.

For Margs you need a car - we usually use Bayswater Car Hire, usually the cheapest and a good choice of cars.  The drive down is about 3hours + traffic, with some nice stop offs along the way.  Once "Down South" as the locals call anywhere past Bunbury, lots to explore.  Wineries everywhere (and plenty of Breweries too), beautiful beaches, Dunsborough, Busselton Jetty, Lighthouses, Caves. Head down to Augusta / Cape Leeuwin where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet, or even over to Albany (about 4 hours).  The Southern Ocean coast is incredibly beautiful.

If you head north from Perth there a few interesting towns once you get out of the suburbs, a loop to Lancelin Sand Dunes, into Cervantes Lobster shack for lunch then to the Pinnacles toward sunset the light is spooky.  If out of the suburbs you need to drive carefully from dusk onwards due to Kangaroos waking up and heading out.  You can also get a coach trip to do this.

The catacombes are very interesting, and completely different.

Champs de Mars near the Eiffel Tower is worth a visit in itself too, as is the Jardins des Tuilleries near the Louvre.

Well if it's anything like I've seen over the last few days, pack your own fire extinguisher and take a riot shield.

There's also a big tower.
