Kyuubi Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 From the BBC Website Leicester not turning JapanesePosted at 11:02 A deal for Stoke City defender Robert Huth is set to go through, but it seems highly unlikely Leicester City will be signing Japan striker Shinji Okazaki, reports BBC Radio Leicester. The Foxes bid for the 28-year-old earlier this month and have maintained their interest, however Okazaki seems certain to be staying with German Bundesliga side Mainz.

Stringer has the ear of so many inside the club. I'm sure they would let him know before anyone else. He can't just be guessing surely? Think of his journalistic integrity? Oh...
Kierzz Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 http://www.bundesliga.com/en/medien/transfers/ Not on the bundesliga transfer list so guessing this one truly is dead. Probs just going after lennon and Sivok. Suprising SSN aren't mentioning Sivok though since they reported the bid yesterday
mhs123 Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 No deal: By the looks of this chaps's twitter, he seemms pretty clued on up city.. Samuel Stevens @SamuelTStevens 9m9 minutes ago Things can change quickly but.. hearing Shinji Okazaki to #lcfc is off - if it was ever even 'on'. Jason Bourne @JasonBourne1986 8m8 minutes ago @SamuelTStevens Aye - been told no chance during this window.

We could've closed this thread a week ago or so - Mainz's stance was well-known as early as beginning of January.
8starstriker8 Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 If it isto happen is it too late because the German transfer market has closed?
Tuna Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 I'm sorry but he's useless and needs replacing. Hope he's not near the first XI for a while, we need something different and possibly a better striker in January.
isaidno Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 Needs dropping. Good first 2 games and done nothing since
yorkie1999 Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 The sacrifices a club has to make just to sell shirts in Japan is frightening.
lgfualol Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 Definitely deserves to be benched. Would much rather have Mahrez floating about in that space.
kingpowerout Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 May think I'm going OTT but it was like playing with 10 men when he was on. Can't cope with the physical aspect. There's a good player in there but needs a few weeks on the bench
EGBFitness Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 Will he be playing next game? He came in and made such a difference, can't help but feel he is offering nothing at the minute. Always on the floor by any contact from any player and no goal since West Ham? Mahrez came on in Okazakis place and made a difference.
MooseBreath Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 I thought he had a decent first half. Won possession numerous times. He's a bit of an enigma in that he's a striker but does his best work in more of a midfield role. He out-Kante'd Kante in the first half but he's a striker after all and as a striker you do need to carry a bit more of a goal threat. Nowhere near the worst player on the pitch in that first half though and the stick he is getting is a bit bizarre.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 he's a weird player, it's really hard to put up with his shit when you're being absolutely rinsed by the opposition.

It would only be bizarre if it he was the first Leicester player to be written off ridiculously early.
sdb Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 Not as bad as some make out but needs benching for a while.

Haven't slated any of his performances and don't think he was particularly bad today but think that position is crying out for Mahrez as his creativity works for Vardy
inckley fox Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 May think I'm going OTT but it was like playing with 10 men when he was on. Can't cope with the physical aspect. There's a good player in there but needs a few weeks on the bench No, you're not going OTT. He's keeping last season's top scorer and Mahrez out of the side and in spite of what some are saying about results vindicating his selection, we've often looked better in second halfs when he's off the pitch. He lacks physical presence and his closing down rarely puts the man on the ball under pressure. There's lots of running to little effect. If he remains in the side for yet another week I'll have to wonder who it is who's picking him, and why. Ulloa would have added some much needed height in defending set pieces and, while I know he's injured and Ranieri can't be blamed for not picking him, I think in the long-term he'd offer much more at both ends of the pitch. Failing that, it's got to be Mahrez.
Mark Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 Not as bad as some make out but needs benching for a while. Would be a waste of a sub considering Kramaric and Ulloa struggle to get on, maybe that's why he's starting games if he has to be involved.
cityfanlee23 Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 Definitely deserves to be benched. Would much rather have Mahrez floating about in that space. Especially after that assist, top draw that pass today.

He only missed three games in two seasons with Mainz in the bundesliga, this paranoia about him starting because Japan is the capital of Thailand is embarrassing.
