harpendenfox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 I say don't sell, but if we do there is no way you take the first offer. £8 million and I'd start to consider it
Grewks Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 If Vardy improves over the summer as much as he did last year....West Brom would get a bargain. For me i would keep him. Just look at the game yesterday, yes his decision making was poor largely because he lacks experience at this level.....But he looked for more dangerous in 15 minutes than Agbonlahor or even Benteke looked in 90.
Jacnah Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Pulis considering bid, John Percy the source "@John__Percy: Tony Pulis weighs up £5m bid for #lcfc striker Jamie Vardy + Nigel Pearson targets Shinji Okazaki #wba via @Telegraph http://t.co/4RgvAj4hoT" Jump in Jamie and I'll drive you there!!
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 If the figure of £5,000,000 is right then it's a no brainer. He certainly is not worth anything like that! Sell him!
HitchinFox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Only £5m? Bugger that. He'll be worth twice that next season when he's adjusted to the Prem like he did to the Championship last season. We need to hide him. Like we hid Knocky. To avoid the temptation to cash in. Hide him somewhere where he can still work on his pace.
Stadt Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 It's a massive assumption that'll he just adapt like he did to the championship, the reason he adapted was because we changed his role in the side, he got fitter and improved his first touch - I can't see him doing that again. He lacks technique and composure, improving on that is really difficult.
Guest Col city fan Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 I'd take 5 million now. I wouldn't have at the start of the season, but Vardy has not scored enough goals. Take the 5, get Kramaric playing and use the 5 on a winger. We'd get McManaman for 5 plus change
Spence Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Wouldn't sell even if the bid is that good, knowing our luck kramaric will get injured first game and we won't get Okazaki then we'll all be blaming Nige for selling. Keep him till end of season atleast
Rushden fox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 I'd take 5 million now. I wouldn't have at the start of the season, but Vardy has not scored enough goals. Take the 5, get Kramaric playing and use the 5 on a winger. We'd get McManaman for 5 plus change Maybe Steve McManaman....defo keep Vards..he is an incredible asset starting and off the bench
Kitchandro Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Wow, 5 million is very generous. If true, we'd be crazy not to sell for that. We'd be crazy to give a West Brom a hand in their survival bid.
65RosesFox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 £5million sounds a lot but I'm not sure it is a lot these days. I like Vardy, his attitude and willingness to close opposition players down but he does lack that finishing part of his game. He's had chances in many games this season that he should have taken. I think £5million is worth considering if we have a good replacement in mind. Nugent has had many chances in games as well (two clear cut yesterday) and has scored the same amount in open play and has the same amount of assists. It's harsh to judge vardy on some of his performances this season as he has been playing as a loan striker in a few games where he has looked useless, he will never be good enough to be a lone striker. However when played up top with someone like against liverpool he assisted nugent and caused liverpool many problems. It was be stupid to sell him as it would weaken our squad and strengthen a relegation rivals, no sense in it what so ever. Far too many fickle fans around. Before christmas it was nugent is useless, get rid. Now it's vardy's turn. It's going to be more than likely we will be playing Ulloa and Kramaric up top most games, coming on as a sub with 20-30 mins to go i would prefer to bring on vardy with his pace to cause the opposition problems rather than nugent.
pazzerfox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 I can't believe the amount of people that would actually sell him! Admittedly he hasn't scored many goals but we will struggle to find anyone with his tenacity, energy, enthusiasm and ability to defend from the front. It takes a lot of pressure off the defence and midfield when you have someone with the work ethic of Jamie Vardy. Him and Nuge never give defenders a minutes rest and stop them playing out from the back. He does a very good job for the team and the squad and should not be sold.

Guest Col city fan Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Yeah lets sell him and buy a winger who is struggling in a relegation battle in the championship. Yeah, I would. If we get Kramaric, I can't see Vardy starting an awful lot. And we need wide players more than a whole host of strikers iMO. McManaman is in a struggling side, but I think is a good little winger who would look much better in a better side. So yes, I wouldn't consider this to be a bad shout.
Danizen Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Leicester City as a PLC and before - "That's a good offer, we will take it". Leicester City under the Srivaddhanaprabha family - "Jog on!" Before, we would have taken £500k.
Dan Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 It's a massive assumption that'll he just adapt like he did to the championship, the reason he adapted was because we changed his role in the side, he got fitter and improved his first touch - I can't see him doing that again. He lacks technique and composure, improving on that is really difficult. Fully agree. I honestly don't think he'd be that much of a success at West Brom. Pulis wasted loads of money at Stoke. Pulis wanting him doesn't automatically mean he's great. Vardy's been the biggest shame of the season. I really did wonder what the limit was with him after that Man Utd game but the truth is I think the answer happens to be complacent defences. He doesn't have the quality in his general play to unlock a tight defence.
gurru991 Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Vardy is a favorite of mine but in all honesty I would take 5 mill for him in a heartbeat. His speed isn't the same factor in the Premier as in the Championship.
NewquayFox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Big chunk of money and i think City will be tempted to sell if the Kramaric deal goes through, i still think he has a big part to play in our season though.....
ramadaone Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 The other thing to consider is that pulis is no mug, he see's something in vardy (according to john Percy) and has a very good record of keeping teams up. This contradicts the idea vardy isn't good enough for this division. (If Percy is correct). Are you doubting John Percy ?
iamafox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 £5 million is quite a tempting offer but for me this would be a sideways move for him. It's not like West Brom are more likely to stay up than we are is it? Two things have to happen first: West Brom making an official bid and Vardy wanting to leave. Personally I want him to stay.
1972 Fox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Britt Assombalonga £5.5m. Jamie Vardy £5.0m. Are you having a laugh?
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 This thread can be summed up as follows: Vardy is out of form currently, so people want to sell him. Disagree.
MPH Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 We'd be crazy to give a West Brom a hand in their survival bid. Not sure how selling them a striker who has scored 1 in 18 is giving them a hand...
