Leicester Lass

Vardy a wanted man.

He did well in the Championship last year. He scored vs. Man Utd did you know?

A comforting memory for when relegation is confirmed in May.

We're in the now. That was in the past. What is Vardy going to do for us realistically in the next 16 games?

Reinvest the money into Shinji or Defoe and lets do what we can to survive this season.

it's upsetting watching him play atm. he's got one move and that's a huge touch past a defender and run after it. except in the premier league there's always a covering defender or three that nip in and make him look like an idiot.

The other thing to consider is that pulis is no mug, he see's something in vardy (according to john Percy) and has a very good record of keeping teams up. This contradicts the idea vardy isn't good enough for this division. (If Percy is correct).

Never sell to a relegation rival he is bound to score against us, and that could be the difference to us staying up or going down

Still think he's got a big part to play.

His workrate is something else, he puts players under pressure, forcing them into mistakes. He's just a pest. I'd be very sad if he leaves, keep him and sell Nugent.

It's strange that you wish to sell Nugent when over the past few games we have looked far more effective when he plays. Whilst not a great goal scorer, he does seem to play the number 10 role pretty well for us. The big thing that lets Vardy down is his first touch and decision making. I don't think he'll improve either. Whilst he retains his pace, he'll be a decent Championship striker, but at this level I don't think he'll cut it, unfortunately. If WBA are prepared to offer £5mil, I'd be inclined to accept. It would be a decent wedge to put down for a quality striker.

£5m is a decent offer but I'd try and hold out for more. If WBA offered anything around £7/8m then I could imagine that being accepted.

I'm abit unsure on this. Vardy's pace and work rate is exceptional at times. I would be gutted to see him leave but in the position we are in, if we get a decent amount for him and possibly replace him with somebody better, probably accept that.

If we do end up going down however, and we still have Vardy, I could imagine teams will be queuing up for him. £5m at this point would be good business.

me too mate, he does more than score, who chested it down for Nugent to score against Liverpool? that is link up play at it's best

He will be having a party next season, or even by the end of this season. The only thing he aint doing is hitting the target, he terrorises defenders in bad form, HE WIL GET BETTER. selling him is a mistake, anyone who  says ddifferent  isn't  thinking  clearly  imo

Leicester City as a PLC and before - "That's a good offer, we will take it".

Leicester City under the Srivaddhanaprabha family - "Jog on!"

Hopefully the later is the answer here. £5mil in our situation is irrelevant in our situation aiming to reap the rewards of survival. The same way spending £5mil on a player is probably worth the gamble in our situation, rejecting a £5mil offer is also probably worth risking the financial incentives because if we survive we either keep a delighted PL Jamie Vardy or are again in the position to command a big fee.

There's a good point in here. Against Spurs, in the space of 20 minutes, he got Vertonghen booked, and with competent refereeing (impossible for us, unfortunately), would have won a penalty and potentially got us a point (not to mention, Vertonghen could easily have got a second yellow for the penalty incident). Vardy's pace is a big weapon for us, which is important when we don't have a massive amount of pacy players (just him, Schlupp, Mahrez and De Laet really).

Also, on the sentimental side of things, after last season I just don't want him to go, especially to a horribly boring club like the bloody baggies.

His workrate will count for nothing if he's not on the pitch.  Nige isn't going to buy new strikers to fill the reserves, £5million, if it is that much, plus probably £1million a year in wages off the books will help us comply with FFP.

I'm Not interested in carrying a striker for half a season hoping he'll come good next year. We need a striker to come good now. And 1 goal in 18 just isn't good enough.

For me Vardy is a massive impact sub for us & defenders hate it when they're tired, then we chuck Vardy on! Defenders panic when Vardy plays because of his consistent Harrising which also creates a lot of chances. To sell him to relegation rivals for £5million is poor business if true

Fickle ****ers aren't we? The whole squad weren't performing 5 games ago

You aren't wrong but this isn't a case of Vardy missing chances. He looks totally out of his depth to me. I'd love nothing more than for him to come and turn it around again.

I don't want to sell him but if we can get an established Okazaki for £3mil over what we'd get for Vardy then it's got to be looked at.

Whilst I'd prefer it if we could squeeze a million or two more out of them the only compelling reason to keep him really is that he'd be useful in the event of relegation. If we sign the Japanese fella Vardy will become at best our 4th choice forward and given his failure to adapt to this league you can't really argue with that. Don't buy the idea that he would fire West Brom to safety either as he certainly doesn't look like doing that for us.

this is true and permit permitting, our new foward wil get lots of chances when vardy is on the pitch, as defender's wil not ave any restbite

The thing with Vardy is all he is pace, knock it past them head down and run. In this league it requires a bit more than just that he's got no skill to get past and beat a man.

How many times has he got the ball facing goal and ended up just running into a defender? I like the lad and I'd like to see him turn it around but if we genuinely want to stay in this league we need a better striker.
