JonnyBoy Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Vardy is a massive confidence player, if he gets one, he is likely to bag a handful in a few games at a time. Look at his finish v United, one of the coolest finishes I've seen in a leicester Shirt. Atm though he is a bit lost up there tbh. Him, kramaric and ulloa all on form would be lethal
Soar Fox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 This thread can be summed up as follows: Vardy is out of form currently, so people want to sell him. Disagree. With the exception of 1 game this season he's been poor. He's not out of form he's out of his depth unfortunately.
chapero82 Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 With the exception of 1 game this season he's been poor. He's not out of form he's out of his depth unfortunately. That is what was said in his first season in the championship
Babylon Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 With the exception of 1 game this season he's been poor. He's not out of form he's out of his depth unfortunately. He might well be, but people jumped to that conclusion about him in the championship and ended up being massively wrong.
Soar Fox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Difference now is in the championship we were competing at the top and still had very good players around him. We can't carry passengers now when we are bottom of the league scrapping for our lives.
Dan Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 I'd understand these comments if he was about 24 but he's 28 years old. For a forward who relies heavily on pace, that isn't a good age to be struggling at.
LcFc_Smiv Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Five mil is what I would take for him in the summer, in the middle of relegation battle, too one of our rivals in January, I'd be asking for more than that if we are to let him go now.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Vardy is not out of his depth. His work rate is first class, some of his little lay offs and flicks are first class, his one on one finishing can be first class and his pace is certainly first class. What he is however is a confidence player who has been fast-tracked to the top level and asked to produce in a struggling team. I have faith that he will come good and he's certainly more likely to step up than Nugent but he just needs time (which we can't give him in our current predicament). I would therefore stick with him and hope that he comes good in time. For anything upwards of £7million I'd start to think about it (based on who we could get in as a replacement) but I think it'll all be down to Jamie Vardy as to whether this is a goer or not. Pearson has huge faith in and admiration for him so unless he wants to go he'll be staying here.

65RosesFox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Not sure how selling them a striker who has scored 1 in 18 is giving them a hand... Nugent has scored one more, which was from the penalty spot in the same amount of games and Vardy has one more assist, so i'd say he's contributed just as much as nugent, yet this forum is now praising Nugent and his "work rate" and saying Vardy can't cut it in this league. And the fact that Vardy has played a handful of games as a lone striker where he was always going to be wasted.

We all know Nugent isn't an out an out striker anyway and he's been effective at his job more times than Vardy has at his. Not sure why people insist on comparing the two anyway, they have totally different roles in the team, and I would say of late and this season in general Nugent has fulfilled his role better than Vardy has his.
lcfc81 Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 If vardy is out of his depth why would pullis want him?
dayday Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 How long do you wait before he comes "good" I think Pearson has made his mind up with the signing of Kramaric.
dannythefox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 We won't sell him to one of our rivals plus he loves Pearson look what he's done for his career, he's the only one who works his socks off when we play 5 across the Middle can't see it plus we don't need the money.
Robin JD Popley Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 The thing with Jamie though, he looks up to Nigel like a father figure being a Sheffield Wednesday fan - here he is playing under one of his heroes and he is indebted to him for giving him his chance and I think the feeling is mutually shared by Nigel; their journeys to league football are not too dissimilar remember. Therefore, I think it would take a ludicrous offer for us to consider it at present.
65RosesFox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 How long do you wait before he comes "good" I think Pearson has made his mind up with the signing of Kramaric. Yes he's made his mind up that we needed to strengthen the strike force in replace of Wood nt Vardy.
Deucalion Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Reading people's opinions, and not being sure myself at first, I now think I'm in favour of cashing in, especially if that means we can bring in the Japanese bloke. Vardy might end up being good enough but he also might not.
justfoxes Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 VARDY is like an itch you just can't scratch that is how some other fans describe him (apart from the obvious negative swearing etc ) but this guy is a little star according to most Leicester city fans love him or hate him in football Jamie Marmite Vardy !! I think he's a little star he fights for everything he makes more goals than he scores, I don't think PEARSON will sell him to the baggies unless they come in with a really silly offer but I feel the strikers that will be on his way well before Vards will be Nuge what with Andrej coming in and Shinzi okazaki on his way too looks like wood and Nuge could be on the way soon whether on loan or permanent !! The owners are splashing the cash to keep us in the premier league shows what true ambition they really have for Leicester city and what players has been linked with the club it looks pretty comprehensive that a survival in our first year back in the " BIG TIME " looks pretty safe and I still think from the beginning of the season I thought we would finish no lower than 15th place and now I would take no lower than 17th so long as we survive our first year back we've played some damn good football but had a negative result for us and a game with Liverpool we should have won which a dodgy referee didn't agree with us with the present giving of 2 penalties to Liverpool (Mike Jones you need to be ashamed of yourself !! Face ball penalty and then a ball to hand penalty you complete knob !! ) But all in all I hope really we keep Vards and I'm looking forward to a new era of players at Leicester City and I hope NIGEL gets in all of his targets it's certainly been a roller coaster of emotions back in the Premier League and hoping it lasts a very very very long time and who knows sooner than later we may challenge for a euro place just as the board are hoping for in their plans !! ONWARDS AND UPWARDS !!
benpicko Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Sell Nugent, keep Vardy. Is this a joke because of the retards who would actually think this on here or are you serious? Nugent's 10x the player Vardy is and has been a lot more influential whenever we've played well this season than him too. He's missed some sitters but we're a lot better with him in the side than Vardy who, bar the Man U match, has been completely ****ing useless. Issue with this forum is that if somebody's hated by a large amount of people and that player goes on a run of matches where they're great in them all, everybody will shut up but be waiting for them to make the tiniest of mistakes or to have a poor match at which point they're the worst player on the team again and needs to be dropped. Doesn't apply to Vardy yet apparently but does whenever Nugent plays poorly.
Freesolo Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 he's lightweight, cant remember he last game he scored was it UTD? for £5m i would bite there hand off
benpicko Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 he's lightweight, cant remember he last game he scored was it UTD? for £5m i would bite there hand off The last game he even looked like scoring in was Man U so yes
Jacnah Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 This thread can be summed up as follows: Vardy is out of form currently, so people want to sell him. Disagree. I don't think that's quite right. Its not that he is out of form, rather, for some on here at least, there seems to be a view that: 'Vardy lacks the quality and composure to be a striker of consistent premiership standard and if there was any chance of getting a 400% profit on him it would be madness not to take it' He did fantastically well against ManU because a) he played well, b) they played a high line with space behind and c) they defended woefully. Its no coincidence that has not been repeated
Alex_LCFC Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Have i been wrong in thinking vardy is one if the fans favourites? 90% of our squad havent played premier league football before, so it will Take some time getting use to. Theres not many strikers that can come off the bench with pace like vardy to terrorise defenders with 10-15 mins left. Keep him he may not score loads but he has impact on the game, just like nuge. Doesnt score loads but there impact on the match is brilliant
linemakers Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 We don't need the money and no way sell to a relegation rival. Is Puliss trying to unsettle our team, think so
