davieG Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Jose Mourinho: Why I decided to start Didier Drogba on the bench against Arsenal JOSE MOURINHO has revealed he resisted the temptation to start Didier Drogba against Arsenal because he wants the striker fully-fit for the midweek trip to Leicester. Diego Costa (hamstring) and Loic Remy (calf) were unavailable for the trip to their London rivals. But Mourinho dropped a surprise before the game by leaving Drogba, his only available senior striker, on the bench. The experienced Ivorian has been struggling with an ankle knock and the Blues boss wants him fresh for the trip to the resurgent Foxes on Wednesday. Mourinho said: "Our situation is very, very good, but the plan is to win the game. Simple. "Drogba was almost fit to start, but we have another game in midweek, and we have doubts for that game."
Clever Fox Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 That's great news for us, improves our chances greatly of a result. the only way we'll trouble them is with pace up top. You won't pull Terry and Cahill out so it need someone to glide by them or else a shot from outside the box. Which is why I'd go with Wood. He quick and has a shot in him like Burnley last year. Mahrez and Albrighton keep with and doubling as midfielders. Hammond James and King or Drinky in the middle to give us a solid feel to it. The Back Three picks it's self although NP might choose to rest Wes for Saturday and use Upson.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 We gave them a proper game at the bridge, Nugent gets his head down and slots that chance home it's a different game. Absolutely think we can get something from this. Mahrez, Krama and James in for Albrighton, Ulloa and Cambiasso. 3-5-2.
CosbehFox Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 I would personally give Vardy a break with his foot injury and Cambiasso the day off as last time he played 3 in a week, he was turd against Villa. Watching them today. Chelsea's strongest asset Hazard is also their weakest defensively. He left the right wing open for Arsenal all game.

Guest Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 If we have Schlupp and Nuge then I'll go for a City win 3-2. Why the hell not?
gerrytaggart Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Let's get real. They'll do us. 2/3 -0 Thats the spirit
Marmite Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 **** me we beat Manchester United and drew against Arsenal at home so why can't we get anything against Chelsea. Have some faith
Brooksy Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Burnley got a point there and QPR would have if it wasn't for a mistake from that dense twat rob green. we'll get something i reckon
fox766 Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Wishful thinking - we win 2 or 3 nil kramaric to score them all as an up your's to Jose to say look at what you could of had. What I think - could be a closer game than people think and could go either way. Possible reality - we lose 3-1 All that said IF somehow we win what a result that would be and we would look good to survive though would be pleased with a draw.
justfoxes Posted 27 April 2015 Posted 27 April 2015 **** me we beat Manchester United and drew against Arsenal at home so why can't we get anything against Chelsea. Have some faith Well said Pagey I'm getting tired of the we won't survive negative we'll be spanked by chelski brigade we haven't so far this season and I can't see it happening on Wednesday I bet some blurnley fans said the same about the Man City game but they came away with a win ! Positivity FFS people get some I think this is the best time to go up against chelski what with all the injuries they have I can see us getting at least a point from this one !
hejammy Posted 27 April 2015 Posted 27 April 2015 Should we rest players or put our strongest team available out? Heart says strongest and head says rest. Even a point would be great but we have to look at the bigger picture. Yes our strongest team is more than capable of getting at least a point if they play to the best of their ability, however the following game against Newcastle and the rest of the games are far more important for me. That is where we have the best chance of 3 points. Rest key players and keep them fit for the remainder of the games and we should be fine. Injuries could mean we are dragged back into it.

Don't understand this attitude, we are 1 point ahead of 18th place and are still massively in danger of the drop, whilst moving out of the relegation zone is a relief it is important that we continue with a similar team and reward those players that have put this run together.
Jon the Hat Posted 27 April 2015 Posted 27 April 2015 We have to go for points in every game, **** resting people. A thumping could damage our confidence, while a decent performance even in defeat would keep the momentum going. At most rest one or two. Hopefully Nugent is back.

Fox Ulike Posted 27 April 2015 Posted 27 April 2015 Chelsea’s next 3 games are us, then Palace H then Liverpool H. Mourinho is a spiteful little fvcker he will want to win the title Home to Liverpool to rub their noses in it. That means he’ll be happy with another 0-0 draw against us.
davieG Posted 27 April 2015 Posted 27 April 2015 Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson not ruling out weakened team vs. Chelsea Leicester manager Nigel Pearson insists that his side must not get complacent and that they are not yet safe from relegation. Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has not ruled out fielding a weakened team against Premier League leaders Chelsea on Wednesday in order to plan ahead for the Foxes' relegation fight. Leicester seemed destined for the drop at the end of March, but have won four consecutive games in April to climb a point above the relegation zone into 17th place. The Foxes face Chelsea on Wednesday before a run-in which features games against fellow relegation candidates Newcastle, Sunderland and QPR. Wolves were handed a £25,000 suspended fine from the FA in 2010 for fielding a weakened side, while Blackpool received the full £25,000 punishment in 2011 for the same offence. However, Pearson insists he is only concentrating on his team's needs before the visit of Jose Mourinho's men. "My focus is Leicester City, we will always do what is best for us," Pearson said in the Daily Mail. "If we need to freshen it up, we will. [David] Nugent is injured, [Jeff] Schlupp is injured, [Jamie] Vardy had an injection in his foot just before the [burnley] game. We will assess it. "All we are interested in is that our fate is now in our hands and the longer we can keep that, the better the chance we have of surviving. All I'm interested in is keeping our players focused on winning games." Leicester's fate is now in their own hands after four straight wins in April has left them a point above the drop zone. Pearson has successful experience of relegation battles: the coach was at Carlisle in 1999 and saw his loan signing Jimmy Glass keep the club in the Conference with an injury-time winner, while he was assistant to Bryan Robson in 2005 as West Brom escaped the drop from the Premier League. However, the manager says Leicester's recent resurgence -- capped by Saturday's 1-0 win at fellow strugglers Burnley -- has nothing to do with his history, adding: "It is about the players believing. You have to back your own ability. "You can draw [great escape] parallels but it is all about the players you have. "No two situations are the same. The only thing that is applicable from the different situations is that the players believe and they think every game is important and give 100 percent commitment. "The most important thing is we put [the four wins] behind us and concentrate on the next game."
wattolcfc Posted 27 April 2015 Posted 27 April 2015 I find it quite ironic that Kramaric chose City over Chelsea because of first team chances but he would have been more likely to start for Chelsea on Wednesday than he will for City, had he joined them.
jammie82uk Posted 27 April 2015 Posted 27 April 2015 Stat time There have been just eight goals scored in Leicester's last six Premier League home matches (five for the Foxes, three for their opponents). Chelsea have won the last five Barclays Premier League games in a row against Leicester City. Leicester City are looking to win five successive top-flight games for the first time since January 1964. Chelsea's Premier League unbeaten run now stands at 13 games (W9 D4) since their defeat to Spurs on New Year's Day. They can match their run of 14 unbeaten earlier in the season if they avoid defeat in this game. Jose Mourinho has seen his Chelsea side keep a clean sheet in 103 of his 191 Premier League games in charge (54%). Jamie Vardy has scored three goals and assisted two more in his last five Premier League appearances. The Foxes have lost their last five Premier League games against the side that topped the PL table coming into the fixture. Eden Hazard has created the most goalscoring chances (88) and embarked on the most dribbles (254) in the Premier League this season. Chelsea have scored a league-high 14 goals in the opening 15 minutes of Premier League games this season. Leicester have conceded more goals in the first half of PL games this season (27) than Chelsea have overall in 2014-15 (26).
