Former Leicester defender James Pearson training with Rotherham as he seeks new club following involvement in 'racist orgy'

  • James Pearson is training with Championship side Rotherham United
  • Pearson was sacked by Leicester City after involvement in Bangkok orgy
  • Former Foxes team-mates Tom Hopper and Adam Smith were also involved
  • A video emerged of the players in a sex session during post-season tour
  • The 22-year-old defender is the son of former Leicester manager Nigel

James Pearson is training with Rotherham United in a bid to win a contract at the club.

The 22-year-old defender, son of former Leicester City manager Nigel, is taking part in matches behind closed doors to keep fit after his sacking in the summer.

Pearson was shown the door by Leicester on grounds of gross misconduct after footage emerged of him taking part in a racist orgy with three Thai prostitutes and team-mates Tom Hopper and Adam Smith while on a goodwill tour of the Far East

Striker Hopper, 21, was picked up by Scunthorpe while goalkeeper Smith, 22, joined Northampton after each being dismissed also and both are featuring regularly.

But Pearson is finding clubs from the Championship to the Conference baulking at his signature partly because of the distasteful video.

This is despite his run as Leicester’s development team captain last season, performances which were rewarded with a new one-year contract. That was then terminated after a club investigation.

Pearson contemplated appealing Leicester’s decision using the PFA as he did not use any racial slur but has chosen to stay away from legal battles and try to mend his career on the pitch.

His chances of earning a deal at Rotherham, bottom of the Championship before Tuesday night’s trip to Brighton, could be affected if manager Steve Evans leaves to take over at Peterborough United.

Hope Brighton continue their good form.

A good away day.

Worried that Forest will be more confident and impressive than last season.

anyone see that charlton sofa thing on sky sports news this morning? like they're trying to prove they're the worst football club to ever exist.

"you can sit on your cushions with a cup of tea and get the biscuits out, but still be at the game"

Union Berlin did that a while back, during last year's World Cup - with a much better execution:

I don't know what it is about Brighton- I don't dislike them, and I don't know enough about them to fault them- but I just don't want them to do well. It's totally irrational but I'd prefer them to stay in the Championship for a few years.

Blackburn fans really impressed with him, apparently set up another too.

would love to see him play with the same confidence for us as he seems to out on loan, cant remember him taking on a player in his brief spell in the team earlier on in the year. Certainly has a decent future here for me

A lot of good clubs in the Championship and also Hull, Burnly and QPR have good chance of coming back up to the PL. I'm betting my money on Hull, Burnly and Middlesbrough.

Don't care, but would love to see dirty Leeds back in the top flight...

Leeds QPR and Fulham would be my ideal three. Three good Friday nights away, with plenty of decent boozers. Nice breakfast in the local wetherspoons and bring home the three points.
