What a season he's had. Don't see how an agent can talk him into leaving, I don't see how he could possibly have achieved more? From nowhere to Premier League champion and playing in the Euros.

the "big" clubs wont learn from their mistakes in trying to buy success.

we could offer kante 150k per week and arsenal, man city, man utd, chelsea or someone abroad would double that in the blink of an eye.

all i will say though is kante is worth it. THE best leicester player ever, even when he's not on fire, he still has a good game.

You sound as though you might have a conflict of interests ;).

Anyway, whatever , I  can't agree with your analysis. You're dwelling upon how it was. The situation has now changed.

Income from this triumph and the backing of Mr. Sri bring us into the position of being able to compete with Arsenal - in spite of their greater wealth. The 'big four' model of 'pick 'n mix' football only worked because of money and the misuse and abuse of it by certain clubs. Mata has made a brave statement about the wage aspect recently.

City have neatly circumnavigated that by careful selection of personnel, improving player care and developing a team ethic. Why is it that we've played 37 English premier games with such a minimal loss of key player time through injury? There'll be no tougher opposition in Europe than the sustained battle we've just come through, relatively unchallenged, on home soil. Only the understandable doubts (from years of disappointment) and the anxiety that we might not have got what we (the fans, the Club, the County and the City) have so long yearned for, have clouded our perception of how competently it was achieved.

I suspect the Big 4 (6) will be urgently looking in to why their model is kaput.

Actual attendances at the matches are no longer the bulk of income, so that it's not so important to have 60,000 stadium. Maybe Sky have decided that it will create more interest in football by distributing their ill-gotten largesse more equally- about time they woke up. In the 60s there was none of this pre-eminent clubs situation. Just check the tables. What's happened has been the gradual wresting of football as the 'game of the people' to the game of profiteers. Man Utd have proven to be the expert marketers of their club as 'special' and the idea that loyalty to ones local club could be abandoned to belong to the 'Theatre of Dreams'. I suspect that's why their coach was bottled when it approached the Boleyn last Wednesday. That wouldn't have happened in the 60s - they were generally admired.

As to Arsenal and Chelsea having much bigger pulling power than we do - I suspect we're the most famous club in the world at the moment - well, if not that then the most popular. That factor should be promoted for all it's worth. There's no reason why, with careful management, the Unbelievable Story can't go on a while longer.

Perhaps it just needed a Leicester-sized club to burst the money-bubble.

Most of your points are valid but I look at Atletico Madrid and Montpellier when they won their league. When Atletico won La Liga their star players were picked from them too. Diego Costa went to Chelsea, Arda Turan to Barcelona a year later. And Atletico are a bigger club than us so if they can't hold onto their star players then we will struggle too.

Loyalty these days unfortunately is mostly a fiction we fans create for ourselves. Players are mercenary because their career is a short one and their opportunity to win things restricted.

Plus there are the loathsome agents doing their very best to unsettle players at the hint of a big payout for themselves. It's sad, but no club is bigger than agent power anymore. I have so much respect for players who stay loyal, even John Terry!

Kante could stay with us for the rest of his career, earn millions in wages, be loved like a king, a proper club legend. But he won't, because his agent will persuade him the grass is greener elsewhere.

I just wish players would look at the bigger picture sometimes. There are endless examples of players moving to 'big' clubs. Many more fail than succeed, and often end up with a team below the one they made their name with in the first place.

true but kante could become the legend he will become at leicester at madrid - he is that good, we are not talking about fabian delph here

i would love him to stay for a while, but he really can become a superstar at a massive club

please stay NG

There's people on both sides of this argument; wish him well if he goes (mostly) and hope he gets injured at Arsenal (one or two idiots).

I think it needs some middle ground tbh. Yes, he's been amazing for us and should be wished well, but I'd still be deeply disappointed if he upped and left without giving us one more year.

We gave him a stable platform to perform on - great manager, great players around him, great support from the fans AND a consistent starting place - it was a massively positive atmosphere this year for him to flourish in. Would have he played so well if he'd had been playing at somewhere like Arsenal this season? A more toxic fan-base, higher expectation, people getting on his back, a different manager, only playing 50% of their games?

You'd like to think that he can appreciate what Leicester has given to him and that he would choose to stay and give us his talents for our first attempt at CL football - something he helped us to attain.

If he left then there would be a slightly bitter taste left in my mouth amongst the happy memories of what Kante did here.

I love the guy and wouldn't begrudge him his dream move, but to go somewhere like Arsenal or Man City now would certainly leave some fans here with a feeling that he left half-way through the job - with money being the only real factor in his move.

He will still be a great player in a years time and I'm sure everyone will still want him - so why rush off? Stay and finish what you've started N'golo!

I think he should stay for another season or two and, so long as we progress to his satisfaction, I can honestly see him going to Madrid for about fifty Mil.

It isn't just the wages players need to consider its the profile which raises the opportunity to play regularly in a winning side and sides that win regularly tend to be popular with overseas fans. Winning opens up opportunities to play International football regularly. Then comes the sponsorships and product association deals. As Beckham showed, wages can only be a small part of the millionaire several times over package.

Kante was a struggle to get here in the first place, it was like he had to be almost forced onto the plane, He may stay another season but I doubt it. Even if he does stay another year, he is never going to be a career Leicester City player which is a pity but its also reality.

Perhaps, in the grand scheme of things, Kante will always be too good for us, but all we can ask for is one more year of service and see how our European campaign develops. He seems very close to Mahrez and should Mahrez stay (which I think is a given) then Kante will have a much greater pulling force to stay too. This may sound odd, but both are devout muslims and living in Leicester with a high percentage of ethnic muslims seems to have only helped to settle them in further.

Good post, lads is as good as out the door for me. Has given the usual "I'm focused on Leicester now let's see in the summer" and practically said he was pleased that he was being linked to several top clubs.

Not surprised. Guardiola likes his team's to hog the ball... Kante does give the ball away an awful lot... Not bad for us and our style... But won't fit into peps style at all...

Pep will not have the same impact at man city as he had at Bayern. I'm willing to predict if we get a few good signings like deeney, we will finish higher than them and in the league next season

The players agents are engineering the moves already, they are on hug potential earners , and in some cases percentages of the weekly wages. I can honestly say N'Golo has already hinted he wants to go. He's has stated that his agent is listening to what Manchester United and Arsenal have to say.

We have more chance of holding on to Riyadh, his family want him to stay, but again his agent is working overtime to maximise both their revenues.

Sad but true.

NG will stay. His agent is duty bound to listen to offers from whoever. NG will stay at least till December.

Football careers can end abruptly and seeing a humble hardworking guy like kante make it to where he is, I can only be happy for him. I'm sure he appreciates us as much as we appreciate him. He will stay for one year as ranieri asked him to do.

I hope you're right, his deal will have to be massively improved, our resolve will be tested as he will play for France and they are favourites to win , his value will go up.

He lived in the Camponile Hotel for the first few months here and walked to the training ground and back everyday , typical ha ha

Did you hear him say this?

I'd be surprised if he left, where were all these clubs last season? we were the only club who wanted him, I mean really wanted him and really valued him. surely he'll respect that even if an immoral agent doesn't?

It's good to know so many people on here know what Kante's inner thoughts are. Sounds like we've got nothing to worry about.
