ramboacdc Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 So we are going into the December fixtures. not a great run. Could be facing a managerless Swansea now too (or a new manager one.) 28 points on boxing day last year would have got you 8th place. where do you think we will end up?
filbertstreet Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 is there a position better than 1st? that
AKCJ Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 4th. Can see Arsenal, City and United improving but us keeping Spurs at arms length.
ScouseFox Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 optimistic; 1st, realistic; 1st, pessimistic; probs 1st
ARM1968 Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 I think we'll beat Swansea and Chelsea, draw against Everton and Lose to liverpool. Then we'll beat Man City 3-2.
Corky Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 Can we actually be in the bottom half? Surely not enough teams will take points to move us down so many places in four games?
Devonfox1884 Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 I said 6th. Could easily be top 4 if results go our way though.
Thracian Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 Our fixtures til Boxing Day don't look nearly as formidable as they did pre-season because it's clear that our team can compete against anyone and the pressure of us winning points is no greater than the pressure on others trying to take them off us. So I'll stick with joint top for all that I'm disappointed we didn't take a wonderful chance to cement our position as the outright leaders on Saturday. In any league you've got to take on the best at sometime and now's the time to show we can beat them. It's perhaps also the time to show we've got a squad. It may just have been the effect of United's ball retention but we seemed to have some tired players out there on Saturday and letting people like Ulloa, King, Dyer and Schlupp go rusty won't help our cause in any way. We need all our first team contenders to be sharp and right up to the pace of things. is there a position better than 1st? that is there a position better than 1st? that Love it.
Mark_w Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 http://www.worldfootball.net/table_calculator/eng-premier-league/ Had a go at this predictor, I've got us 6th after Boxing Day.
Thracian Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 Sixth? Is the Premiership introducing a new rule saying we're so damn good we can only play with 10 men in future? Or are Vardy and Ulloa going out there like contenders in a three-legged race? Hell we'll be falling so fast we'd be a threat to the world if we were a meteorite. Okay almost anything's possible when it comes to football results. Even Villa escaping relegation is possible but about as likely as Erdogan becoming a Christian. Sixth? What a horrible thought. Like being left a Ferrari for Christmas and finding someone's stolen the engine.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 A damn site higher than any of us thought before a ball was kicked! COYB
Saxondale Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 How soon will Chelsea be relegated? End of March?
HEGGSY Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 http://www.worldfootball.net/table_calculator/eng-premier-league/ Had a go at this predictor, I've got us 6th after Boxing Day. I've got us in 6th as well on Boxing Day.W vs Swansea D vs Chelsea D vs Everton L vs Liverpool
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 Swansea W Chelsea W (current form, disharmony in squad and a lack of stomach for a fight) Everton D Liverpool L I think we will lose to Man City after but follow it up with a win against Bournemouth. That gives us 7 points before the Bournemouth game - allows us to remain in the top four hopefully. Ready to go again in the new year.
FireFox Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 Doesn't matter. We will be 1st at the end of May.
StanSP Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 Obviously our tough run from now til end of the year has been well-documented. Thought it'd be good to see who our title rivals (?!) are up against in that same time period: Man City: Stoke (A) Swansea (H)Arsenal (A) Sunderland (H) Leicester (A) Man Utd: West Ham (H)Bournemouth (A) Norwich (H) Stoke (A) Chelsea (H) Arsenal: Sunderland (H) Villa (A) Man City (H) Southampton (A) Bournemouth (H) Spurs: West Brom (A) Newcastle (H) Southampton (A) Norwich (H) Watford (A) On paper it looks like Arsenal have the easier run, playing 3 teams who are expected to be in the relegation zone. However their recent run of injuries could hinder them Spurs also have a favourable run and only 4 points behind us so they can't be totally discounted. Similar to Utd, fairly favourable. Man City have huge strength in depth though - they'll probably be aiming for 4 out of 5 victories so if they get that they're bound to create a bit of a gap should others falter. As has been said many a time recently, if we're still in and around top 4 by the turn of the year that will be a phenomenal achievement in itself and perhaps we'll be taken even more seriously. I just pray that injuries don't hit us at such a crucial time when games come around so quickly. On a side note, Bournemouth have to face Chelsea, Utd and Arsenal in the next month. Could be quite key for them. Their run in at the end of the season is horrible too . Sunderland have Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City away next month too .
whoareyaaa Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 3rd Wins at Swansea, Everton and Chelsea. Draw Liverpool Lose Man city
fuchsntf Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 I am just going to sit back, enjoy the christmas build up and season of good will, then throw the fkin cat out into the snow, cos she bloody meoooows too much. I know city wont lose the 5 games that takes us into 2016, which compared with last season I know we wont fall into a relegation battle. After all these years hoping begging crying for points, to at least enjoy the Turkey and left overs. This year we wont go away empty handed, this squad has given us the best Xmas present, a worry free ' festive Vardy Party' knees up. Win/lose/draw I am going to be totally relaxed, enjoying the individual games as they pan out, not trying to see the EOS safety line. This team gets us into the top ten...job done....but their performances are allowing us, to dream of top 6, even more crazier a tempting and teasing thought that a top 4 could be a challenging reachable target. If the bubble does go pop, I say now ...thanks lads for giving and allowing us to be in this position, to go over the top, and to give us the right ....to dream the dream. Tho next time out FFs listen to your boss Mr Ranieri, he tried to tell you through the 2nd half, you were backing off too deep, and giving the opposition too much space, more than any game this season....they werent taking it, you were giving it away....And get your corners sorted, its the set pieces and corners, not open play that has lost/stopped us being top by 2-5 pts. Then again isnt great having a perspective that the weaknesses or mistakes might stop us getting top 4 instead of panic city where these errors could get us relegated. Thats why.... r e l a x e d festive season. Thx
