Huth's replacement for Everton?

It will be Benalouane and I'm more than happy with that. Think he's got the potential to be a great centre half for us and it seems he has the same brilliant attitude as the rest of the squad judging by his social media

Benalouane.

He's waited for his opportunity and I've been quite impressed with him in the cup games he has started tbh. He's looked a little rash, particularly coming on as an impact sub to close the game out, but nothing to say he's hugely out of his depth. Think he'd relish the opportunity and I'd back him to take it.

Everton aren't a quick side so I reckon Wasyl with be fine against them, plus beast. But I wouldn't either or will be fine. Shame about Huth though.... Big loss

Same. I was not impressed with Benny at all when he was being brought on at RB early in the season, but when he played in his preferred centre-half in the cup, I thought he looked a class act at times.

I like Was, but I think Benalouane could be a class above. I won't be shocked if he plays his way into the first XI.

I'd rather have Was up against Lukaku tbh, happy with either though. There's no way Huth would've gone 4 games without a yellow so at least we should have him back for Liverpool and Man City :)

Benalouane concerns me. I can't see us going 90 minutes without conceding at least one penalty with him in defence.

With Morgan and Wasyl they have at least played a number of games together, less of a risk there but still wouldn't be comfortable. Huths a massive massive loss he's brought out the best in Morgan since he arrived.

Dont think we've seen enough of benny to be able to judge him to much, lets not forget people on this board pointed the finger at Fuchs pre season games and that game in the league cup and he's turned out to be the best left back we've had since bruno in my opinion.

Give Benny a go.

I can remember the problems wickham gave wasyl up at hillsborough, lukaku on top of his game would destroy him.

Sometimes 'unpredictability' can be an advantage, so benny it is.

Unpredictability isn't a desirable trait at CB. Defending is a responsive task, defenders try to respond to and/or anticipate what attackers are doing. The bland routine of cover, press, mark and clear is the order of the day. It isn't a place where you want a player to do something out of the ordinary.

Also, Wasilewski was excellent when he was in the team late last season. I think it's rather unfair to pick one game to use as evidence of him being 'not good enough'.
