Dr The Singh Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 What's up with Babylon tonight. He is upset we drew, and should have won
Father Ted Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Still a point away from home in this league no matter who you play you would probably take. Nobody would be moaning if we had drew at Spurs and beat Villa. My only concern is that we're sitting far too deep and not pressing teams to compensate for our poor defence. Hence why, we are now not conceding but we are also not scoring. I think another striker is absolutely vital and Ranieri would be crazy not to get another one in.
LJS Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Hate to sound doom and gloom, but goals don't look there right now. This negative run of play has been going on for over a month, as if Pulis got his hands over this squad. And with that, there's probably more dropped points than stolen points. Something has to change or this team will slide down the table like Soton did.I think we are just knackered and that the less positive approach is the best way to win us points through that period. The frequency of games is now beginning to drop off (there will be lots of changes for the Spurs replay) and we'll see our more attacking players begin to recover. Even if we don't manage a top four finish we'll likely have had a fantastic season. We'd need relegation for now to miss out on any European football at all. What an achievement that would be, to qualify for Europe through our league finish. These are the good days. In not too many years we'll be relegated and will plod for a bit in the second tier. It's what Leicester City do. I can't really feel disappointed by much this season. Granted, today's performance was poor. But I've got to game 22 before feeling disappointed with a performance. That hasn't happened before and I very much doubt it will again.
Fox92 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 He is upset we drew, and should have won Aren't we all. I thought he'd been drinking
Dr The Singh Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 What's the point in having a forum then? We discuss stuff here, none of us have any managerial qualifications or experience. I have
foxes_rule1978 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 It's the post match thread, he was talking about the match. If you want to pretend we were great that's up to you but other want to discuss the actual match. This match we were rubbish, and it is a cause for concern to see we have only managed two goals in the last 5 league games. I want top 4 because I feel we can achieve this and we need to get back to how we were before the Liverpool game to ensure that happens...
MC Prussian Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 He is upset we drew, and should have won Aren't we all? On a sidenote, I think we two should spread some more love again.
Benji Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 How Gestede got away with that handball is criminal. The handball rule is one of the most screwed up rules in football. Intentional handballs happen about once every six months when a player genuinely tries to stop a goal, much like Suarez at the World Cup. For me it should be about gaining an advantage. Take the Spurs decision and the two today, there are people disagreeing on all three because a referee is guessing on the state of mind of a defender in a split second. Our penalty today stops a shot heading towards goal, intentional or not I don't see how there should be any grey area that it should be a penalty. It's a goal scoring opportunity and even if the defender is unlucky to concede it, it is unfair on the attacker. Someone is going to be hard done by but for me in that instance it's more unfair on the attacker to not give it. Then you have Gestede, completely unintentional (so I'm not surprised it wasn't given) but he gains an unfair advantage by controlling the ball to get past Huth. Again, you have two players who will feel hard done by but the decision has to go to the defender if the attacker has used his hand.
smudger63 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Two points chucked away, made all the more annoying, given the fantastic result at Tottenham. It feels like we just chucked two of those very hard earned points away, against what is undoubtedly the worst team in this league, by quite a considerable distance. Make no mistake, Villa were worth their draw, but that was more to do with a very poor performance by us, in which we seemed to want to sit back in the second half and defend as if they were Barcelona, and we were trying to hang on to the 1-0. The substituion of Okazaki was bizarre in my opinion, because i thought he had been one of our best players, and was giving them problems. Mahrez i`m afraid, has not played well for a number of games now, whether this is down to a natural loss of form, or more down to a change of desire and attitude from him, probably only he really knows. I would certainly be considering dropping him for the next league game, because maybe it will give him a kick up the jacksy he may need. I also think we desperately need another striker too, to take some of the pressure off of Vardy. Okazaki has been doing much better lately, but i still think he can be improved upon. Ulloa is certainly more miss than hit when he plays, and i would be looking to off load him in the summer. If we really do have ambitions of finishing in the top 4 this season, then i think another striker is a must this month.
foxinsox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Mahrez cost us 2 points today (he was poor even apart from the penalty) but keep some perspective! We wouldn't be on 44 points without his earlier goals/assists. Mahrez should have come off earlier, either for Gray or for King/Inler. He is not good in the number 10 role. I think that Claudio wants to start Okazaki on Wednesday and took him off for that reason.
The Doctor Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Perhaps you need to read the fecking thread again, unless you want to continue your total wummery of late. Eh, while people have said we won't win the league like that it's fairly clear they're just moaning about what was a pathetic performance today
blueharmie Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Most concerning was Vardy has his hands on hips all the way through the penalty and didn't move. Wtf is all that about?
Babylon Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 How the fook is that clear you numpty, this forum site it doesn't tag all previous post together, ffs My post made it quite clear.... Moaning about the game is one thing, someone going bat shit about not winning the league is something else.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 performances have been sh1t since before Christmas and results are now not going our way, we need to recover our Oct / Nov form ASAP....
Dr The Singh Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 In one sense, I'm hoping we get thrashed on Wednesday, as a wake up call to the rest of the players...... Play shit get whipped
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 My post made it quite clear.... Moaning about the game is one thing, someone going bat shit about not winning the league is something else. Shall we run our posts by you first to make sure you're ok with it? Perhaps we could have a sticky thread containing a list of things you deem acceptable in a post?
ScouseFox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 I was wondering when somebody was finally going to say this. Vardy is important for us because of his pace, work rate and energy - always has been and always will be. The goals might come and go but his game at its core is about harassing defenders, running channels, racing past people etc. He's doing barely any of that at the moment, he's a shell of the player he was before his injury. it's helping make riyad look awful too, a lot of his through balls weren't the best but a fit vardy turns an average ball behind the defence into a superb pass and an assist. it's making our whole team look worse because as you say it's what we thrive off. i'm not sure what the other options are though because nobody else in our squad can play that role and clearly our squad cannot play any other way?
Dr The Singh Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 My post made it quite clear.... Moaning about the game is one thing, someone going bat shit about not winning the league is something else. And what did I say.....and then what did you say. You behaving like a upset 11 year old isn't helping son. Now think about what you said, do you think that is the right way to behave?? No supper for you, unless you apologise to me, Webbo, moosebreath, white Dee and Thracian for your behavioir
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 I noticed a little area of concern today. Make of it what you will (it's probably nowt). After about 70 odd minutes Kante went forward, tried a simple forward pass (near the Villa penalty box) which went astray and Villa broke forward quickly. Kante actually stopped and didn't track back at all. He stood and watched, clearly pissed off at his missed pass. Fortunately, their break came to nothing as they fell over the ball (again). First time I think I'd seen Kante do that.
filbertway Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 it's helping make riyad look awful too, a lot of his through balls weren't the best but a fit vardy turns an average ball behind the defence into a superb pass and an assist. it's making our whole team look worse because as you say it's what we thrive off. i'm not sure what the other options are though because nobody else in our squad can play that role and clearly our squad cannot play any other way? Drinky was managing to hit him okay tonight
RUDZY Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 WINTERS ARE TOUGH...COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS AND MOVE ON. Usually the Home side takes all the points or if you're lucky you get a draw. An Away Win is like a lottery win - but the momentum is still with the Foxes andwe did have the chances to wrap this Midlands Derby up and take all 3 Points. Substitutions were SPOT ON. New Winter time Penalty taker needed - Somebody who can smash it into the back of the net. Players who do not wear gloves will have more success throughout the cold period. TOP OF THE LEAGUE - COME ON!!!
vulpes0763 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Well actually I am working towards managerial qualifications (level 3 formally known as uefa B). Not that, that has anything to do with the post. Our best game is when we press high, win the ball back and counter quickly. In the last 5 or 6 games we have played a different type of counter attacking, defend deep, draw teams out then hit them on the counter. Both are feasible ways of countering but you only have to look at our goals scored tally and arguably the results since switching to the latter to see that it doesn't seem to be working as well for us as the press high approach was. I feel Claudio is trying to 'save us' a little, as playing at high tempo obviously leads to fatigue over time, but I worry if we are going to adapt to this style permanently, it just doesn't seem to work for us as well. respect what you say regarding the current style of play but CR is the manager and I am sure he knows what he is doing. He has taken us to the top of league and therefore he has my respect and belief
Len Finsbury Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 The handball rule is one of the most screwed up rules in football. Regardless of intention, if the team that touched the ball with a hand gets an advantage, then it's handball. Simple.
Harry - LCFC Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Thank god we're defending well atm. The back four have earnt us results recently, particularly Morgan and Huth. Our attacks look impotent with an unfit Vardy and off-form Mahrez playing.
