Disappointing.

Poor performance and ultimately didn't take our chances.

Mahrez offered **** all. Gray in.

First half was acceptable, could have gone in 2 up. But against a genuinely awful bottom of the league team in Villa, that has to be up there with one of the dullest and most lifeless second half performances I have seen in a long time. Don't get me wrong, I am delighted to be where we are and looking at the bigger picture we are in an incredible position, but we looked terrible that second half and I have no idea why a group of players who have shown how good they can be could produce such an awful half of football.

Gray came on far too late for my liking - love Claudio and think his tactics have been spot on at times but I don't think he made the right decisions and the right times today. Okazaki has improved a lot and I wouldn't have begrudged him 90 minutes. Mahrez seems a bit lost at the moment and has done for a few games; he should have come off earlier. Vardy doesn't look fully fit still and he's making bad decisions with the ball at his feet. I actually thought we were unlucky to concede that goal due to it being controlled by Gestede's hand, but then again we could have given away a penalty if the ref had seen Huth's antics differently. Kante was decent off the ball as always. Ulloa's first touch let him down once again, especially when he would have been 1 on 1 with the keeper from De Laet's cross.

We should be disappointed with this result but overall there's a lot of reasons to be happy. We're top of the league and could still be top after tomorrow if Arsenal lose to Stoke tomorrow which isn't a crazy possibility. West Ham lost so we are currently 9 points ahead of 5th place. Next few weeks are going to be extremely tough if we can't step it up again though.

seemed more interested in not losing in 2nd half....we had 2 free kicks midway in their half left hand side with Fuchs to take and Wes and Huth both stayed back on half way......

Stll top after another poor display...Bring on the Stokies next week and we will kick on....I am coming over for it so better be good...beat Spurs of  course mid week with our reserves

Didn't understand taking Okazaki off for De Laet, we needed to attack not defend and a poor defender at that.

Mahrez needed taking off for Gray.

Massively disappointed.

One of the worst 2nd half displays in a long, long time... I'm quite irked.

- Passing was dreadful at times.

- Huth had a nightmare.

- Mahrez has been replaced by a doppelgänger who is a bit s**t.

- Impostor Mahrez shouldn't be allowed to take penalties.

- Ulloa is even more doggo than first suspected.

Oh my days..to think I'd looked forward to that all day.

Zero quality. No-one simply got the ball down and played a bit of football.

And Mahrez needs a boot up his arris...

Villa outplayed us

You must be joking. They never looked like scoring until that lucky goal which could have been disallowed for handball and would have been saved but fora delection. Not saying we were good but should have won.

Maybe Rather, Looking all and saying if I've been still there I would add that big plus... But shame

Missing a pen and people turn against you in a blink rather than showing some support for clearly lost of confidence, such an ingratitude. Mahrez left the field and Leicester still WINNIng.... And maybe if you simply moved on after that pen missed maybe Leicester would have scored more goals but seeing in the thread people panicking and blaming it all on Mahrez, made me switch off. ...Yea blame it all on Mahrez.....or you know what just sell him sell him sell him as someone said, or simply stop playing him period.

the main reason we didn't win today was his crap penalty. whether you fancy him or not i ain't really arsed, just saying that's why we aren't celebrating a win tonight.

he's the most skilful and arguably best player I've ever seen play for us but this isn't the "talk about mahrez's two years here" thread, it's the Aston villa match thread and in the Aston villa match he cost us two points.

it's a shame and you might not want to believe it but it's true.

Feels churlish to complain, but Mahrez's last two pen misses have really irritated me - really, really poor attempts. But like I say feels wrong to complain as we are top of the table. .....nobody could have foreseen that!

You're clutching at straws. He's been excellent for us for the most part of the last two years, but he was absolutely absymal today, nothing he did came off, and he should have been hooked for Gray after about 55 minutes rather than taking Okazaki off. He had a bad day, doesn't mean he's suddenly shit, but it's daft to pretend that he wasn't a waste of a shirt today

Obviously we'd be 4 points clear if Mahrez had stuck away those penalties.. Still, winning at Tottingham was a bonus, so we have to accept today, however disappointed we are.

It looks like several players are not fully fit too. Players have played far too many matches. I hope CR rests the whole team on Wednesday. We do not have the squad to challenge for both, and Stoke next week will be very tough.

The decision to take Okazaki off messed us up. He was doing his role well - working hard, closing down, winning the ball etc. De Laet should have just come on for Mahrez.

We are allowed to have a bad day at the office. Very frustrating I know but we have just gone top of the most competitive league in Europe . 4 points from two away games is a good return.

Genuinely not good enough today.

Gray on way to late. Leo didn't offer anything.

And thats 4 dropped points from missed penalties. Small margins and all that.

Only positive we are 9 clear of wet spam in 5th

I don't know what that second half was all about... first half we did well, should have been 2 up. Second half we couldn't pass the ball to a blue shirt, and de Laet coming on what was that all about? I knew we wouldn't score another once De Laet was on

Looks like alot of people thought this would be an easy game then. The only negative point I'll add is that I'm not sure Ulloa is good enough for our side now, I'd agree that we need a new striker.

I anticipated an awkward match as Villa don't get thrashed and have been getting a few draws before their win in the week but we really shouldn't be sitting so deep against them. There was a lack of movement at times and the one touch moves were non-existant, by and large.

Having said that, Drinkwater and Vardy had great chances to win the game, plus the missed penalty. We were poor in front of goal barring Vardy's lob and Okazaki's following up.

People moaning we won't win the league after games like this.... Ha ha ha ha ha!! Sort yourselves out yo utter gonads.

Yes we were shit, yes tactics have gone awol, yes yes players were shit...but ffs don't moan about the league position. Xx
