chapero82 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 drinky was class today He has been all season
justfoxes Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 How the hell does a draw feel like a loss ???? But then when you look back basement bottom Aston Villa who are crap we were all over them first half then Riyahd missed the penalty he and a few of the lads heads dropped and it went down hill we have beaten bigger and better sides so why do we struggle against the villa etc etc when we should be clinical and finishing them off? Will Claudio speak to Mahrez and replace him as penalty taker or does he stuck with him he looked devastated when he missed it that's why I think we should find another penalty taker Vardy Fuchs any other ideas? We need to bring in another striker to help Vardy our little ninja Shinji seemed to fizzle out second half, Simpson had some great moments but too many poor moments we need a stronger right back ? DD is trying too hard to score when he should be looking to the simpler pass and as some have said have teams found us out regarding our play and flooding midfield putting 2,3,4 on Mahrez sometimes what do we need to change ? But at least the positive thing we didn't lose and have a bigger gap between us Arsenal and man city we still are in the chase but not if we continue with displays like today ! But I've faith in King Claudio and he will sort out this dip in form is it a dip in form or just tired players? We have all said we need new players in this window so let's hope we can get some great players in to keep our push going and defy those who say our bubble has or is about to burst (sod them it hasn't it won't !) or we haven't a chance of the title or top four!! But what ever place we finish we have done superb this season long may it last !! Onwards and upwards and in Claudio we trust !!
Babylon Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 It's the post match thread, he was talking about the match. If you want to pretend we were great that's up to you but other want to discuss the actual match.Again I refer you to the original post. Where I said moan about performance, players, tactics, it not being good enough... But about winning the league ffs. We're top!!!! Even with that in mind... It's a massive fecking pipe dream for all the reasons why people scoff when us winning the league is mentioned. Actually getting irate about a performance because ones like that mean we aren't going to win the whole thing!?!!? Really?!
foxinsox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Reasons to be cheerful: We are top of the league Villa are as good as relegated West Ham, Crystal Palace, Everton are dropping points and one of ManU or Liverpool tommorow. That gap to 5th place is not shrinking Vardy played 90 minutes only 10 days on from a groin op. Slightly slower than usual but will be back to form for Stoke. Fuchs is the best left back in the league Okazaki is scoring at last. We are top of the league. I have come away disappointed by the second half, but that is one of the very few disappointments of the season.
yankeeFOXott Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 What a difference a year makes. It it disappointing to lose to a Villa side that has been god awful so far? Certainly. Is it the end of the world? No. You'd imagine that Villa is up for this match. They just beat Palace and are fighting for their lives right now. They played a gritty second half; and although City looked fairly comfortable in defence, and although I thought the equaliser was quite lucky; a point on the road is no small feat in the Premier League. Still not a great performance, but still could've taken all three. That's not to say that Mahrez is off the hook for that miss. He's missed three now since October and this one just looked lazy. Time for someone else to take them from the spot. Especially since 2-0 at that point would've broken them. And was I perhaps a bit too angry over a draw here? Absolutely, but with a little time to think about it, 44 points at this juncture is amazing. I think that things will be fine and business will be taken care of at home.
Dr The Singh Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Thank god we're defending well atm. The back four have earnt us results recently, particularly Morgan and Huth. Our attacks look impotent with an unfit Vardy and off-form Mahrez playing. So true, we let one goal in 4 matches. Albrighton, Mahrez, Vardy, Ulloa, Kante have been poor of late

johnny the fox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Is there any point in carrying on in this life? I'm staring into the abyss ...oh yeah.. Man.c only dew at villa...
Webbo Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 This exactly what it should be about. Regardless of intention, if the team that touched the ball with a hand gets an advantage, then it's handball. Simple. I agree with this. It annoyed me when the pundits were blaming it on a bad touch for it hitting his hand. It was his bad touch ffs.
RowlattsFox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Performance like that shows why any talk of a title is ludicrous. I've never got carried away, like most on here, and I still think we'll do well to finish top 4. Now there is a chance of something happening ranieri has started thinking about how to stop others. We are far deeper which has generally improved the defence but we are no where near as threatening because we are not winning the ball high up the pitch.

Our attacks look impotent with an unfit Vardy and off-form Mahrez playing. Good post again H. However, I think we are defending well as a team. Not only the defence. I think someone wrote in the match thread that Drinkwater had been rubbish.. I thought him and Shinji were our best players. Fuchs was excellent again too.
Jacnah Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 So many different ways you can react to this game. Should have won it. Could have easily lost it. Played well in first half and last 10 minutes. Could have easily scored 4 or 5 today. Overall, take a point and never think about this game again. i think you've summed it up. Poor, but no point dwelling on it. Mahrez has won us plenty of points this season and he will know how poor that pen was

Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 As predicted a scrappy 1-1. A fair result. In terms of a top 4 finish a handy point, if looking at winning the Premier 2 points dropped. Win at home, draw away for the rest of the season we will be fine.
Babylon Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Is there any point in carrying on in this life? I'm staring into the abyss ...oh yeah.. Man.c only dew at villa...It's the only way... Top yourself whilst we're on top.
goose2010 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Mental to think that people aren't happy about being top of the league, poor game villa wanted it more end of reminded me of us last season, move on Cup Wednesday give the others a game and give the lads a week to get ready for Stoke,
foxes_rule1978 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 It was a lot to have to play two away games in such a short time
Babylon Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 This exactly what it should be about. Regardless of intention, if the team that touched the ball with a hand gets an advantage, then it's handball. Simple. It sounds brilliant... But it will get twisted and turned and discussed until death what constitutes an "advantage". Probably better than the rules at the moment though.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Fans were shit today, from where I was at the back of the stand the atmosphere was arse. Tried really hard to get it going but just crap. Worse game for ages. Gutted
Nalis Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 All I can say is that I hope this inspires a Villa revival and potential pts taken off our rivals.
richardsfoxes Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Gray has to start for me next game, when he came on he looked so lively and fresh looked like he could make something happen dont get me wrong Marc is a good player and done fantastically well for us this season but i'd love Ranieri to give this kid a chance in the first team i think he would give us that bit extra going forward.
Matt Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 It was a lot to have to play two away games in such a short time Tottenham managed. Infact didn't they 'hammer' someone today? Oh yeah, Sunderland, they're shit...Oh wait a minute, who did we play? Villa...Aren't they shit? Oh yeah, so they are...

The pundits have been saying we'll fall away all season, I don't want for them to be proved right, just yet anyway.

Tottenham managed. Infact didn't they 'hammer' someone today? Oh yeah, Sunderland, they're shit...Oh wait a minute, who did we play? Villa...Aren't they shit? Oh yeah, so they are... Tottenham weren't away midweek...
