Mainlander Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Its one thing to be a good counter attacking team, its another to concede mountains of posession to the leagues worst team. Never put any pressure on them second half. I know we are top but its not helping having three draws in the last four and not taking gifts when they are given as in the penalty miss. How Huth got away with his one I will never know.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 We had everything going for us tonight- the ref was really pro us- Villa were shocking- no injury worries- yet we played as if we only needed to turn up and we would win. A big reality check needed guys. Yes we are top but if we keep playing like that we will be on the slippery slope. Vardy needs some help up top, Shinji was ok tonight but we need more quality. It can't just be me that thinks Vardy hasn't helped himself? He may be knackered but he's gone right off. Granted he's had a few niggles recently but the few weeks or so Shinji has outdone both him and Mahrez in terms of effectiveness going forward and has looked more a threat than either. Not having that it's all down to Vardy 'needing help' when Okazaki has been in blinding form recently.
EastAnglianFox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Is it 5th needed for the Europa? But possibly 6th if a Man City or Arsenal win the FA cup?
AyewJoking Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 I heard a massive "FUCK OFF ALBRIGHTON!" early on in the game, presume (Hope!) it was a Villa fan! were villa fans booing albrighton? i assume it was the clubs decision to sell him rather than him wanting out????
foxinsox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 At least no one will be poaching Mahrez or Vardy this window. Perhaps is is all a cunning plan. There were always going to be ames that disappont. Everyone gets them. Lets put Spurs out of the cup to cheer up. The DeLaet substitution made sense to me. Marhez was very poor and needed to come off the wing. Mahrez is no good in the centre though. Gray would have been the alternative, but then who could have come on for Albrighton?
Master Fox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 It's clear how much we've missed Schlupp. As soon as Jeff comes back we'll be firing on all cylinders again, and storm our way to the title. No worries.
LCFCFOX6190 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 were villa fans booing albrighton? i assume it was the clubs decision to sell him rather than him wanting out???? All clapping him didn't hear any boos
Harry - LCFC Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Some extremely tough games coming up. I'd be delighted if we held a six-point gap between us and 5th after the next four games
Dr The Singh Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 It's clear how much we've missed Schlupp. As soon as Jeff comes back we'll be firing on all cylinders again, and storm our way to the title. No worries. I agree without the mesiah were doomed
ealingfox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Should have put Albrighton on the right, Gray left and Mahrez off.
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 It's clear how much we've missed Schlupp. As soon as Jeff comes back we'll be firing on all cylinders again, and storm our way to the title. No worries. I think it's clear we DO miss Schlupp. We look a more energetic side with him in it. At present, Schlupp would look more of a threat than Albrighton and definitely more than Ulloa.
Ballie1981 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Ranieri tryed to close the game out to soon Spot on!
Izzy Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 It's clear how much we've missed Schlupp. As soon as Jeff comes back we'll be firing on all cylinders again, and storm our way to the title. No worries. Yeah, I miss Jeff. In other news, these post match threads are getting more bonkers by the week. You're all fvckin mad, the whole lot of ya!!
enmac Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Is the pressure getting to the lads, our passing and first touch has gone to pot.Agree about the pressure. None of those playing today(Huth, maybe) have been anywhere near the top of the league before-look at Arsenal/Man City, who've got either WC/league winners. Would really like to see EC back on loan, if only as a squad player. I think his experience would make a big difference..
dbtcity Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Awful today, yes we're top of the league and the first half of the season has been amazing but the last few weeks we've looked poor (bar the Spurs game) it really looks like Mahrez has bought into the hype about him and now doesn't really look arsed, vardy by Ranieris own omission hasn't been fit in a while so I hope we make the most of our position and strengthen well in this window as vardy needs rested and Mahrez needs benched as we haven't got a team capable of carrying passengers, all the fans are dreaming of European football but I fear our change of tactics to a more defensive approach will put an end to that soon we look a better side on the front foot hassling teams not sitting back punting it down the throats of 6' plus CBs....
Great Boos Up Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Haha yeah I heard that one, then about a minute later he was being applauded by their fans when taking a free kick or corner (can't remember). Clearly a bitter guy haha. Albrighton was applauded by Villa fans at that point. Nice touch but glad we have have him. Shows what a state that club is in to let him go for nowt.
KP Fox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Can't really complain about any of the decisions. Our goal was offside anyway... No it wasn't! Vardy was level when Kasper took the goal kick.
Izzy Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 This Mahrez slating by some is getting a bit much. I actually thought he started the game brightly and initially looked up for it today. I think the penalty miss knocked the wind out of his sails and dented his confidence, and maybe he struggled a bit after that. He's entitled to a dip in form and a few off games - he's not perfect and we should give him a break. On his day he's a word beater and a match winner but it's unrealistic to expect this week in week out. Cut him some slack FFS. He'll bounce back - I've no doubt...
Ghost Troop Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 I thought given how shyte Villa have been so far, they coould not have played much better, what they lacked in skill and methid, the made up for with effort and commitment. We on the other hand can do so much more than that. Over confident? Maybe.a kick up the pants every now and then oftdn helps. This keypad is crap.
bovril Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 If Schlupp is the answer what the hell is the question?
Kinowe Soorie Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 No game changers on the bench. Vardy and Mahrez have been off the pace for a few weeks now. Couple of quality new signings to freshen things up!
stevelcfc Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 I'd drop Mahrez for the next game, his head doesn't look with it at the moment, let Gray have a right go then bring Riyad on if needed. Thought DD, Shinji and Wes were our stand out players amongst an otherwise uninspiring shower of shit out there today. Massive opportunity wasted, and people have every right to be pissed off at that performance and some of the decisions made by all today, regardless of how unexpected and beautiful the reality of the situation we find ourselves in is.
Kinowe Soorie Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 If Schlupp is the answer what the hell is the question? He is definitely not the answer to all of our prayers!!!
foxfanazer Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Disappointed at myself for feeling so shit about that result. I consider myself a rational and glass half full kind of supporter but that feels like the wheels have come off to me right now. Obviously they haven't and tomorrow I might feel differently but for now I'm annoyed
Great Boos Up Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Drinky is getting closer to his first Prem goal, I'm sure he'll burst into a hat-trick when the first goes in. What a consistence performance this fella is doing for us.
