Guest MattP Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 First time Claudio gotIit seriously wrong today, substitutions were beyond shocking. Two points blown but onwards and upwards.
RowlattsFox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Sometimes I need to remind myself who actually plays for us, this squad was not built to be challenging where we are. If they are not at their best they are going to look average and that's what they were today. Ok to play like that at Spurs but not away at villa.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Being top of the league is irrelevant. We take every game as it comes. Taking that game as it was we were absolutely shite and needed one moment of quality from Vardy to not get beat by fvcking Villa.
Len Finsbury Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Jesus, some of you are a bit unforgiving! We didn't play our best but there were still some positives. Drinkwater had a good game and could have scored a couple of times but was unlucky, he's getting close though. Scoring is definitely something we need to get him doing. Kante was his usual tenacious self and continued to tackle anyone and everyone. Okazaki, in the first half at least, looked useful despite falling over whenever an opponent gets near him. Defence stood pretty solid - their goal was a series of unfortunate deflections rather than something that outwitted our defenders. We're top of the league again - what could be better? I worry sometimes that the longer we're at the top of the league, the more some people expect and the less forgiving people are of poor performances. Comments like "we're shit" etc are ridiculous. Stay positive. We've played 3 games in a week and had a shorter break between games than Villa so unsurprising that we're a bit off the pace second half.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Yes it's a little disappointing. I tell you what is shocking though.......some of the kneejerk reactions on here are shocking! Get a fkn grip its embarrassing.
VLC86 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Let's beat Stoke and forget about that shower of absolute shit. It's painfully obvious we need a new striker, Ulloa has looked like a complete donkey all season.
HighPeakFox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Errr did you forget his 9000 mile sprint back to stop Liverpool from scoring an open goal? Ulloa is shit. Kramaric is surely better then him. The Law of Kramaric!
foxes21 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 To be honest, every team has bad games. Every team has a bad 2-3 games on the bounce. Even Man City, Arsenal, etc. We need to pick ourselves up and focus on the next match. Yeah todays match was disappointing, but we are still 9 points clear of fifth which we can continue to build on!
harpendenfox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 And actually their goal was really scrappy. On another day he doesn't score. Fine margins as ever
Daz93 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 They should have been dead and buried in the first half, such a frustrating game. We were total shit in the second half.
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Everyone saying how awful that was, played like crap, team needs to be changed blah blah blah… can we please realise WE'RE TOP OF THE LEAGUE! have to stay positive, next few games will be hard but we can get points from all of them! not the best performance by any means, thought Albright was really poor tonight, went for a lot of shots when he could have looked for a past etc. Also Ulloa just isn't quite good enough as an impact sub atm, kind of wishing we had Nuge back to come on in a game like that! A POINT TAKES US TOP! Don't be so sanctimonious. They are talking about this game; that's what people do in post-match threads. Everybody knows we are top of the league, but that doesn't make today's performance any less bewildering and unsatisfactory. In fact, it adds to the sense of frustration because we played teams like Swansea and Newcastle off their own park and played some quite brilliant football while doing so. We know what we can do and that's what makes today's game more of a shocker.
Foxhateram Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 The tinker man has tinkered. It ain't working! Change it back now! Cheers Claudio. He has done great to get us where we are but I don't like how we have played the last 5 or 6 games. Soak and counter is not what I want to see, not after seeing the high pressure game be so successful from March to December.
Daz93 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 The only solace I'll take is that if you switch the Spurs and Villa results then it looks like a good 4 points to put us top.
MC Prussian Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Being top of the league is irrelevant. We take every game as it comes. Taking that game as it was we were absolutely shite and needed one moment of quality from Vardy to not get beat by fvcking Villa. A bit difficult since we scored first and then in hindsight it's "could've", "should've", "would've"... Nobody saw the game coming and developing like it did after we opened the score and Mahrez missing that penalty.
Fox92 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Errr did you forget his 9000 mile sprint back to stop Liverpool from scoring an open goal? Ulloa is shit. Kramaric is surely better then him. Different players tbf.. Kramaric isn't going to hold it or be a threat in the air like Ulloa is. Weird how this time last season Ulloa got double figures in a side that spent most of the year bottom of the league. He can't turn 'shit' overnight. Coming on 20 minutes per game isn't going to enhance him.
Jattdogg Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 The Law of Kramaric! Ulloa isnt really exciting me this season so not sure why we dont give krammy a run.
Babylon Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Alot of people are doubting due to the fact we have been off the boil for the last 4/5 matches. The goals have dried up and our so called magic players are no longer magicI think I need to refer you to the first post you quoted ffs.
chrishlcfc Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Yes it's a little disappointing. I tell you what is shocking though.......some of the kneejerk reactions on here are shocking! Get a fkn grip its embarrassing. Exactly everybody is disappointed but the reactions on here are embarrassing.
Spence Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 The position doesn't matter, I don't care that's taken us top for a day or so - the point is that we played like amateurs out there, spent the entire second half inviting them back into the game. I Agree but i find it quite strange to find everyone slating a team who are top of the league. Granted we were poor tonight but we can't just sack the whole team off, Villa were going for it big time tonight!
Izzy Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Fine margins = serious over reactions. If we score the pen and their goal is disallowed for handball, it's a great 2-0 away win and all is well in the world. We're not getting the rub of the green at the moment but if this is our 'blip' in the season yet we're still top, I can cope with that.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Second half was wank. Turgid and unintelligent football. Mahrez anonymous and pen pitiful
oxtonfox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 I knew we would cough up the win when we missed the penalty. Still a draw is still a point and given we played a very tough match on Wednesday I think that has mentally sapped the players too. We were awful but could have easily lost the game in the second half. Bring on the reserves for Wednesday and we'll see. Personally I think we will lose as Spurs will be more eager (following Wednesday's loss to us) and I think their second string is better than ours to be honest. Fuchs please for penalties as Vardy has lost his shooting boots too.
The Guvnor Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 As soon as Gestede came on you just new what was going to happen.Talking points for me, the sublime pass from De Laet to Ulloa in the second half then Ulloa made a school boy error by waiting for the ball to come to him ends up losing the ball when he should have scored, Mahrez last two performances have been poor and his penalty was about as bad as a penalty kick can be, Vardy must now take pens from now on. The only good thing about today if there is any good was we played sh*t and didn't lose.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 The only solace I'll take is that if you switch the Spurs and Villa results then it looks like a good 4 points to put us top. It is frustrating because we got the 3 points against Spurs, and this was a real chance of really putting a massive gap between us and 5th... we just didn't play in that second half. The penalty miss really cost us big time
