I hope when CR said "we can afford a new striker now Kram has left" that he didn't mean financially otherwise that's bit of a worry!

It does smack of a loan, doesn't it.... freeing up wages and nothing obvious in terms of transfers and planes etc.....

I'm happy we're being prudent... I think we pay good wages to people (Vardy on 40k before he actually scored goals), so I think our wage bill is going to be pretty big. I think the club are taking a view of long term success over short term chasing the dream. I've got not problem with that at all.

Why would it not mean financially?

We've not received the television money as that doesn't come into play until next season. You hear of transfer embargos and fines for clubs living outside of their means.

No need to go out and spend like a Champions League Club when we're not a Champions League Club. Yet.

As I have said a few times Leicester City is a business we are not a club that will throw money at players its just not good business, they will have a budget for a season and stick to it. I think it will be a loan unless there is someone available for a good price.

Why do some people want a Palace or Stoke reserve? If they're not good enough for clubs like that they're certainly not good enough for Leicester.

I want a marquee signing for such an important position, someone who Chelsea or Arsenal maybe would think, "hmmmm, we thought about him". Someone who would come here and compete with Vardy, Mahrez & Kante as our best player.

without wanting to sound arrogant this is true.

Think you might be disappointed!

Not only do I hope it will not be an 'also ran' player from a team that is not even up to our standard, I don't think it will be. ( Pearson isn't the manager now, it's Don Claudio ). I really think it will be a quality player. I just think it could be Berahino. WBA for some reason do not want to sell him to Spurs, they would prefer him to go elsewhere, at the moment that would seem to be Newcastle.

Watch this space, Berahino is going somewhere, and it may not be Spurs.

There's no guarantees whatever. I'm inclined towards prudence myself.

However, I'd doubt our owners any more than our fans expected us to be in the top four and, given the declared ambitions of our owners, I'd be wondering if this might be the best chance we'll ever have of breaking through.

I don't suggest being reckless but i do think we should have a go.

To do that we need at least one striker and probably two. We also need a creative, goals capable midfielder.

With Kramaric gone - and perhaps one more before long  - it's not that great an ask.

Nothing springs fear into Champions league teams than the likes of Dwight Gayle, Peter Crouch, Jon Walters and Shane Long.

Surprised at this. Our whole team is made up of, nearly, players other clubs didnt want or from humble beginnings!

Drinkwater deemed not good enough for utd

Fuchs on a free

Simpson couldnt get in the QPR team

Huth wasnt wanted by stoke

Vardy and mahrez came from nowhere.

Kante was for a reasonable fee but Caen are a small club.

If there is one thing we have proven recently is that the signings for a decent fee - kramaric - havent come off.

Long would be a good solid signing - we havent come so far that we are in a place where some of the names mentioned are going to join. Agreed crouch is not a viable option but no reason gayle or long couldnt come in and add something

Whoever it is, I just hope they can score and they don't ply their trade in the Championship (a la McGoldrick!)

You would think being a City fan of all teams you wouldn't say something as ridiculous as this. Granted no one wants McGoaldrought but look at our team/history of buying unknown players from lower leagues and this comment is moronic.

Just look at the similarities between Vardy and Gayle. Then look at what Ranieri has said about constant work rate and running. Adds up as he will be an easy buy this January and looking for a fresh start.

People do him a disservice. He's a good player.

I wouldn't be too against Gayle signing. If he's a similar type of player to Vardy or Okazaki then he could link up quite well with them. I haven't seen him play regularly though if I'm honest so hard to really give an opinion.
