I just hope to God it's not a letdown whoever it is.

Someone who looks like he could compete with Mahrez, Vardy & Kante for being our best player would be fantastic.

Someone who could weigh in with a few goals and take the pressure off Vardy would be brilliant as well.

I think you're setting the standards very, very high there. Any player who can bang in 7+ goals between now and the end of the season would be fine.

Does he fit our system though? I think there are better options out there personally, although I admit slim pickings. If we are struggling to get who we want, then I agree, could be worth a risk. He is a better option than Ulloa anyway.

Would much prefer Remy but maybe Adebayor still has something to offer for 16 games..

I can't tell if people are joking with some of the name being mentioned.

Adebayor has absolutely nothing to offer our team.  He hasn't played in over a year and is still being paid 100k a year by Spurs, he has had chances to move but they all seem to stall at the contract stage, he'll want high wages on a 2/3 year contract.  There is no way that our owners will sign off on paying a complete bin lid almost half a mil a month where history has shown he is trouble.

We need a forward who is better than what we have, Vardy is great but if he becomes our 2nd best forward then that is strengthening the team from the front.

Doubt it's Berahino. Baggies have valued him at 30 million! lol

What about someone we would least expect? Connor Washington?

Nah...

Stumbling block is he wants and 18month deal apparently but he has been keeping himself fit as he keeps posting videos haha. Sounds like Owen Hargreaves all over again.

He sounds like trouble but he has scored everywhere he has gone and with impressive regularity. I would much prefer we have other targets before him but there is no doubt, he is a goal scorer and still only 31. 6 month loan on someone who says he is desperate to play..?   Like I said, wouldn't be my first choice, but wouldn't be my last either..

Nah...

There are people I would expect far less than that, like Jo Brand. Or the Pope.

I'd be absolutely delighted with either Aboubakar or Embolo.

or even Jordan Rhodes if we are priced out the others

You can immediately rule out half the names on that list as our style is based around pace - it's why Ulloa just doesn't fit in these days

Didnt Connor Washington sign for QPR 2 days ago?

But we could be looking for an upgrade on Ulloa in order to have a plan b.

If he wanted to play football he would've joined Villa when Sherwood was there or several other teams that have gone for him, he's happy being paid 100k to do nothing.  His stats on transfermarkt from the last few seasons are not of a striker that would be of any use, let alone for his wages and knowing that his reported character flaws.  He hasn't played in over a year and before that 2 goals, 1 assist in 13.

I'm guessing that Milik is the most likely of the 'targets'.  The owners were happy to splash on Kram when we were are at bottom, who knows how much they are willing to back the club in the position we are in now.

Agreed. Milik or Remy the best (realistic) options from the ones mentioned I think

Some of the names being mentioned on here are the pits. I mean Bamford and Walters? You do realise where we are in the league and what we're aiming for don't you?

So you dont think Walters could do a job against Bayern Munich next season?
