Slimani would bench okazaki and it isn't even close. It's time we had someone on the pitch that could flipping head a ball.

Yeah i'm not saying he wouldn't.. But would he definitely start over Vardy or Musa? You couldn't possibly say for sure..

And as for heading the ball.. His name is Leonardo

Has there been a solid link to this rumour recently? I've just skimmed read the last few pages...

He shrank about a foot and was spotted spending the night in a hotel with Mahrez ;)

Why are people obsessed with crossing and headers? We are a counterattacking team not a set piece team like West Ham.

I think it's because it will give us another option rather than playing just one way, also teams will sit deeper against us so it may be important to have an attacking option like this.

because weaker teams will park the bus against us. you can't counter attack a parked bus. yes musa and vardy have pace. but they are not a box predators. they can't handel a parked bus. thats why leo was put on against thoes teams. but with slimani you will not lose alot of pace.and you definitely will not miss okazaki's work rate. so that's why he is tailor made for leicester

Interesting, as it was clear our strategy was to to encourage crossing. I don't remember a lot of opposition goals off freekicks, be the result be a headed goal against us. Would be good to have our Opta guy give us some cold hard stats.

We did encourage crosses as Morgan and Huth were often only up against one striker and some stragglers from midfield whom is food and drink to them. However at set pieces our team would have to defend against big centre halves etc and our lack of height collectively through the team got exposed.

Sure Shinji and Mahrez aren't very tall, but they'd hardly be called upon to mark the big lads. But I wouldn't say we've a short-arsed team collectively at all. Also I'd still be interested in seeing these stats that show we conceded loads of these aforementioned goals. I would say that I am more worried about Kasper's ability to clear a cross, but he did improve last year, but I still have fears.

But back to Slimani. If he can do what Ulloa does plus more both defensively and offensively then it's an upgrade. I like Ulloa, and appreciate everything he has to offer, and has given to the club. But if he can be replaced, and the club wants Slimani, then I'm not going to argue.

Rubbish. No team in the league will park the bus for 90 minutes against Leicester there are always periods in the game where the game ebbs and flows and teams will start to put us under pressure. It's a myth that teams did this to us in the run in last season, the only one who did so was Norwich and we scored with a counter with that game.

The way we play we need players who will be able to be on the end of or contribute to our counterattacks when they do come and Vardy/Musa with their pace and Shinji with his intelligent running are all the best at it.

Has there been a solid link to any of the rumours?;)

We are not even reported as interested in this guy anywhere are we?  No where reliable anyway.

A lot of our fans seem to want us to be, but that alone isn't going to make it happen I'm afraid.

Don't think there's a single reliable source on any of the "potential" transfers currently listed on FT is there?

i think that might be it in the market, for us, for now.

You could be right, but there isn't even any recent gossip about this guy is there?  It's just people saying they want him or not for the last X pages.

At least a few of the other players have recently been linked.  Reliably or not.  This thread may as well just be merged with the wish list thread (not that I'm bothered, just an observation).

Given that Spurs were chasing him and their head of recruitment is now joining us it can only put us in front if we are looking at Slimani
