Tuna Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Slimani's cat doesn't look impressed with the Swansea offer.

So they went for an alternative target - Borja Baston - offered £15m, which was accepted - and he has now joined. They have also signed another centre forward, Fernando Llorente, last week. I doubt if they'll be pursuing Slimani any more ?

I can't see any other premiership clubs getting him, will he hang on & wait? I doubt it. I think we will see him move to another foreign league. If he does stay on I could see us making a move for him in January, as I can see Ulloa becoming very unhappy this year.

Aleksz Posted 10 August 2016 Posted 10 August 2016 As much as I'm desperate for this to happen, all the talk of him to us seems pointless until we even have a vague link actually towards us
AyewJoking Posted 10 August 2016 Posted 10 August 2016 swansea make a paltry bid which is obviously rejected but gives leicester a kick up the arse. we panic and offer £30 million. sign slimani and ulloa goes to guess who................
sm1 Posted 10 August 2016 Posted 10 August 2016 I personally think we're not interested. If Lukaku goes to Chelsea, i reckon they'll go for him. Maybe even Southampton
HoustonFox Posted 10 August 2016 Posted 10 August 2016 As we've been linked to this guy I went back through a couple of the historical threads from 2014. Couple of classic posts such as "he's not worth 350k and a packet of Walkers" and "classic misdirection to put pressure on them at the Amex" (with regards to forcing Brighton's hand on Ulloa). Be funny if that we sold Leo to get him in if that was the case (or if he was our primary from the start).
st albans fox Posted 10 August 2016 Posted 10 August 2016 Apparently west brom also offered 20m euros although sporting want 30 they would prob accept 25 from djellit
ARM1968 Posted 10 August 2016 Posted 10 August 2016 Just buy him. Can't hurt to have another striker around and it would give Mahrez a boost. Where's the downside?
Babylon Posted 10 August 2016 Posted 10 August 2016 Best Striker ever... Bids from Swansea and West Brom... Hmmmm.

RowlattsFox Posted 10 August 2016 Posted 10 August 2016 Slimani must've had nearly 20 bids rejected for him over the last couple of seasons. No one wants to pay for him it seems.

Basically, yeah the he fun and games of the transfer merry go round. Tuesday was a prime example, Pogba and Stones deals finally go through and all of a sudden there could be about 9/10 players on the move because of it.

Simple - The absence of puns and no mentions of bodily investigations and large retail shops selling groceries where footballers are, apparently, often sighted prior to signing for us.
dbtcity Posted 11 August 2016 Posted 11 August 2016 Letting Walsh leave before the window is closed is going to bite us in the arse more than once
CosbehFox Posted 11 August 2016 Posted 11 August 2016 8 minutes ago, dbtcity said: Letting Walsh leave before the window is closed is going to bite us in the arse more than once No, there's no way Slimani is worth these figures. He's had one consistent season. The last player to do that from the Portguese League and join a Premier League club was Ricky Van Wolfswinkel. Sporting are notoriously hard work to sign a player from, so expect a huge fee if he's to leave
