I dont think there have been many players who have come directly from south america and had a great impact in the premier league. Certainly Oscar comes to mind, Tevez and Mascherano but there have also been flops like Juan Pablo Angel, De La Cruz, Boselli amongst others. Seems like the more successful South America's have transitioned into Europe first, and then come to England. I think its part of helping the settling in process That said, he does look a good prospect. But i have reservations.

Hard to judge him based on the Brazilian league, but if he adapts to the prem well he could easily be straight into the Brazil side.
