Dan LCFC Posted 21 August 2016 Share Posted 21 August 2016 These are very hit and miss. Away at Leicester, they're almost always miss. I cannot remember us ever not beating these at home. I think we'll give ourselves a scare and go behind, but end up having too much for them and we'll power to a satisfying 3-1 win.
Donut Posted 21 August 2016 Share Posted 21 August 2016 I think Swansea might find themselves in a relegation battle this season. I think theyll struggle for goals. Not overly convinced about the signings of Borja Baston and Llorente to be honest. Always strike me as a team that can play some nice football but theres no real grit or steel within their team, they just seem "flimsy", something thats been further diminished by the loss of Ashley Williams. Strike me as a team that you go in front against and they have no real belief they are going to come back. Montero is a useful impact player, Sigurdsson is obviously very gifted but at home if fancy us to win 2-0 if we are at it.
Sionnach gorm Posted 21 August 2016 Share Posted 21 August 2016 I wouldn't underestimate any Prem league team right now. Swansea has a very accomplished manager in Francesco Guidolin. This guy has historically won games with substandard players. Though their best player was sold, and no real replacements have been purchased, they can be dangerous at times. I believe this Should be a win, but I wouldn't underestimate them. 1-0 Leicester
Col city fan Posted 21 August 2016 Share Posted 21 August 2016 I want to see Musa have much longer on the pitch this time. God knows why he was only brought on yesterday with minutes to go? Vardy looked shattered. And I want us to spend some money and sign a very good central midfield playmaker. If there is one anything like available. This is where we are falling short for me cos Drinks can't do it on his own. If he got injured, we'd look really light in that area.

Totally agree, a central midfield player is a must. As for Musa I would play him in replace of Albrighton, harsh on yesterday's performance I know, yet I think he could be a sensation on that left side. It would also give the opposition plenty to think about, with Mahrez, Vardy and Musa in a front
Cropwellfox Posted 21 August 2016 Share Posted 21 August 2016 I really am surprised we haven't had a look at 4-3-3 in pre season especially with the purchase of Musa and departure of Kanté. Would love to see a 3 of Musa Vardy and Mahrez with 3 across midfield. Might be we would need another CM to play this if Mendy is out for a bit, but I could see this working for us with the pace we have and the need to get some more legs in the middle of the field. CosbehFox Posted 21 August 2016 Share Posted 21 August 2016 A Swansea fan has mentioned to me their current centre back partnership is very suspect. They were toothless yesterday too.
Dickov22 Posted 21 August 2016 Share Posted 21 August 2016 Musa is clearly too good a player to leave out. If he's a striker, then we need to give him and Vardy a proper run of games together. I'd like to see: Kasper Simpson Huth Morgan Fuchs Mahrez King Drinkwater Albrighton Musa Vardy Okasaki tries hard but just doesn't get enough goals and is rarely a goal threat. Give Musa and Vardy a chance to see if they can play together.

Against Hull, Vardy and Musa were too separate from the midfield. Okazaki came on and immediately becomes the link with the midfield and Vardy. Vardy needs someone like Okazaki partnering him cos the latter is willing to do a lot more work than him by dropping deep as well as supporting Vardy when necessary. The space he creates by dragging defenders away or creating space for other players should not be ignored.

foxinsox Posted 21 August 2016 Share Posted 21 August 2016 Same team but King in for Mendy (King had a good second half and will want to put in a good display to the Welsh). I think Vardy and Mahrez stayed on yesterday to the end because of the Arsenal connection, but next week I would like to see Musa and Gray on for them at about 60 min. Break them into the team slowly, and Musa seemed to link with Okazaki well.

However, he's a striker and in the team to link play and SCORE GOALS. How do we know Musa and Vardy can't work unless we give them a run of games together? You can't judge anything on the Hull game. It was a total one off bad day at the office. Weve tracked Musa for ages and paid a club record fee for him. He's going to be a starter, and having him and Mahrez as wide men would expose the full backs too much Musa to start with Vardy on Saturday
Gazza M Posted 21 August 2016 Share Posted 21 August 2016 It is important that we continue to build on yesterdays performance against Arsenal. We were steady without getting out of 4th gear. I wouldn't change too much to be honest. King in for Mendy assuming he is injured. I think 4-4-2 is out best formation for home games we are expected to win. Away from home and away in the champions league is when we need to consider a switch in formation. Minus Kante now I would switch to a 4-5-1 and play Marhez in behind Vardy. Same back five Drinkwater Mendy Marhez Albrighton Vardy Musa. This could quickly change to 4-4-2 if required. Albrighton on his strong foot and offering some more protection going backwards. Col city fan Posted 21 August 2016 Share Posted 21 August 2016 Probably won't be a popular post, and I know it's very early, but I'm really surprised the club haven't moved Heaven and earth to try to make a couple of real quality additions? I looked at the side we put out yesterday and didn't think it seemed clearly any better than last season. I know we drew, but I think that's cos Arsenal have gone a step backwards actually. We can discuss who might start against Swansea but there are no real stand outs. As in players who were going to come in and instantly command a first team spot. Having lost Kante, I'm surprised at this given the Champs League too. We'll see I guess.

RowlattsFox Posted 21 August 2016 Share Posted 21 August 2016 This should be Amartey's chance in midfield. Will probably go for King though.
Donut Posted 21 August 2016 Share Posted 21 August 2016 I think the more I look at it, the strongest set up we could go for would be: --------------------------------- -Schmeichel Simpson--------------Morgan.................Huth...................Fuchs -----------------------Drinkwater----------Amartey (Mendy When Fit) Mahrez-------------------------Okazaki-------------------------- Musa ------------------------------------Vardy That system would be flexible enough to switch into any number of formations, it could easily become a 4-3-3, you could take Musa off for Albrighton and push Okazaki into the 10 position for a 4-4-1-1, If you needed more dribbling threat you could do the same for Gray, you could take Okazaki off for Albrighton and make a 4-4-2, you could even drop Amartey in front of the back four as shield and put a bank of four ahead of him to see the game out whilst retaining pace out wide. TheMightySystem Posted 21 August 2016 Share Posted 21 August 2016 Would like to see Amartey otherwise I will begin to wonder why we bought him. He looked alright against PSG in midfield and is probably the closest we have right now to a Kante replacement. Would also like to see Chilwell as he needs game time, play him against weaker sides and play Fuchs against the stronger teams. Apart from that same team as against Arsenal, Albrighton needs to find his crossing boots but he is slowly getting there, would like to see Musa bought on earlier though. dayday Posted 21 August 2016 Share Posted 21 August 2016 Ranieri could of bought Armartey on yesterday but chose not to, he is behind Mendy and King in the pecking order, so I doubt he will start.

Chester Dontlie Posted 21 August 2016 Share Posted 21 August 2016 Since Mendy is unlikely to play, I'd like to see Amartey and Musa instead of King and Albrighton. Okazaki is very much in form atm, doesn't deserve to be dropped. Musa, Vards, Mahrez and Shinji would deplume Swans of any points.
