ARM1968 Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 Totally agree mate. Just time and games. Looks a real player.
ARM1968 Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 If teams double up or more on Mahrez that leaves space elsewhere. We just need to shift the ball quickly and cleanly to exploit it. thought Amerty did well today. Kante's are massive boots to fill, but given time and encouragement and this lad could get close. Give him time folks.
Dames Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 Very encouraging signs that the team are finally getting up to the pace - dropped off massively in the last 15 mins or so but hopefully that can be rectified. Amartey needs to be given a run in the side as I feel he will grow into that role - today might have just been the start!

But, he can leap like the proverbial salmon (handy given the conditions!!!) and won so much in the air... He was my joint second favourite player today... I've noticed that too. It's like he's grown couple inches taller during the holidays As for outjumping all these Swansea players, no doubt there is some salmon in his sushi!

According to them our first was a hoofed ball over the top! Looks like they forgot to mention the fantastic interception by Amartey followed by one of the best passages of one touch football you'll see in the Premier League at any ground this season. If that's deemed a poor goal then I need to get down to the Liberty Stadium a bit more to witness Swansealona and their world famous brand of football. I've read a few people say that. It really does defy belief how people can actually sit there and criticise that goal. They've been brainwashed by the media. That was a fantastic team goal, everything about it was quality, it deserves to be in the goal of the month contenders.
TheLittleBigMan Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 Chuffed with the points. Amartey stormed it. Vards on peno's and more pulling the trigger in the final third. could have had a hat-full today. We're on the up.
Babylon Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 I thought we tried to play it out from the back much more today, far less Kasper hoofs and much more rolling it out and passing our way forward.
biggs Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 Vardy's goal was precision from our 18. Pinpoint passing, positioning, touches capped off with a brilliant finish. Haven't read the swans forum and don't care to but whoever calls that hoof ball has a narrow minded tactical brain.

I said in preseason I thought he'd do better this year due to being more settled. Everything about him looks better. His first touch is far sharper, he actually looks like a goal threat as oppose to just a general nuisance, he looks stronger and more physical in the air and his confidence looks sky high. I love Shinji Absolutely agree with everything although I think you missed a key factor in his improvement - he's actually staying on his feet. So many times last season Shinji would go to ground and cause our attack to break down. This season he seems to be riding more challenges rather than taking the foul. Great improvement and he's absolutely pivotal to how we play in that he links the midfield and the attack.
CosbehFox Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 The snub for the Euro squad has inspired Drinkwater - spent the summer getting in even better shape and has a great drive about him. As for Shinji I was disappointed he didn't get 90 minutes yesterday. He deserved it

The amount of work he does to help Vardy as well as the team in general is staggering.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 Vardy's 50th league goal for us, Simpson's 50th appearance and Ranieri 100th win as manager. Hope for much more of that.

His hernia probably had something to do with it. Nice if he carried on like that when he's fixed but I'm not going to hold my breath.

It's almost as though every ball played in the air is a hoof. They should watch re-runs of our games under Micky Adams when Ian Walker used to punt it out wide for James Scowcroft to head inside. That was a perfect pass yesterday, taking out the defender and allowing the striker to run onto it. Playing a pass on the bounce is very difficult to judge too, superb piece of skill by Drinkwater.

As for Shinji I was disappointed he didn't get 90 minutes yesterday. He deserved it All fans, not just Leicester fans, will have to get use to one of their 1st choice players, Will be expected to run themselves into the ground for 55-75 minutes. It will most likely depend on the game flow, but I dont ever expect Shinji to do 90 mins. Claudio has found a unique niche for him, that is a major part of our game (plan A). The team is now 1st choice 11 + 3 from the bench. We use that known floating sub slightly differently, not every top team has a Shinji style at his quality. Kante paced his game, Shinji is asked not to. Yesterday Shinji and Armatey were everywhere. Shinji has had his 1 full season, these 1st few games if one notices, he spends less time falling over, still there but alot less. I expect him to score a few more goals...8-12.His holdup ,layoffs, and runs even now seemed to have have gone up a notch, plus we has fans appreciate him more. Admiration society, does not mean we shouldnt sometimes start with both Vardy n Musa, even then he could still start, playing just behind the strikers. His style he plays at city, we will be rotating him occasionally, we dont want burn-out, with more games on the agenda. Armatey and Shinji, will save us a few pennies on the transfer market, that initself doesnt mean we should not invest this last week in the transfer market. It does mean however that this forum should stop panicking, on these two and diverse cover. These will prove we really do have a strong squad of players, not forgetting we have added, quality and depth to our playing staff. Our possible permatations have also increased, still to be tested consistently, but it seems we do have plans A, B and C.

Amartey wins it off Routledge and then the quick one-touch play to set up between Drinkwater, Mahrez and Amartey himself is perfect to set up the assist.
