England leaving him out in the summer is looking more and more stupid every time he plays Watching Drinky today and against Arsenal he seems to have taken his game to another level. If he could just add a few more goals he'd be the complete midfielder.

Clever Fox Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 Great to get the win but made life difficult for ourselves with the penalty miss. DD was outstanding today, Mahrez worked very hard especially working back which he's getting better at. Many times today he was the out ball, turning and creating a move going forward. It's hard to keep running 60 to 80 yds with the ball especially in today's conditions. He's improving every game but should have scored the penalty. Okazaki is torturing the opposition with his live wire performances. all he's lacking is Goals. Amartay, What a debut from him . with a few more like that Mendy might have a job on his hands getting back into the team. Looked every bit like Captain material for the future. Not alone doing his own bit but directing others as well. Onward and Upwards now from here.

Guest Col city fan Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 I read some bizarre stuff on here and have done over the years. But one of the most bizarre are the posts that somehow criticise Danny Simpson as some sort of 'weak link'. Yet again today, I thought he was very very good. Both coming forward and with last ditched headers on more than one occasion. Id say in all sincerity I'm struggling to see a more improved player in a City shirt than Simpson. Under Pearson, he was bang average. Under Ranieri he has almost consistently looked one of the best English right backs there is.

I really didn't think taking Albrighton off was the tactical smart decision to kill off the match, more of an opportunity to get Musa some minutes. Okazaki was coming off regardless. But i put more of the shift in the game to the penalty miss than anything else. Their goal wasn't due to missing men, just a bad pass, a good cross, and a good header.

He has the occasional moment of confusion but overall, I think he's done a good job so far this season and certainly deserves to be our RB until further notice.
tsintskaro Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 Drinky is progressing fast and at this moment he is the one who does two men job Yes,Amartey was really good today and still its just one game against poor Swansea so i am saying that Drinky needs solid partner and Amartey maybe,is not ready for it

He has grown in confidence. Whether he is good enough as a top 4 team player is very debatable

No?
Max Power Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 I LIKE AMARTEY EVERYBODY DOES Top drawer today. Worth well more than our 1 goal win.

Still can't believe people don't rate him.

ScouseFox Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 don't really notice when you're in the ground but just what does shinji do to his hair at half time? obviously went in at 45 mins today looking like a half bald drowned rat, came out looking like he was ready to do a loreal ad. remarkable turnaround in just 15 minutes. he also played really well again. love you, shin.

Realist Guy In The Room Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 Everything Mahrez tried today didn't work but that's something we accept with players like him. He was good against Arsenal so this 'his head's not right' stuff I'm not buying. Fuchs is looking off the pace and if that continues, Chilli B has to come in. Amartey was excellent today but lets see how fares against better opposition before there's too much of the 'N'golo who?' stuff. Albrighton was really working his arse off but he was absolutely knackered so no suprise he made way. Not sure why Musa shot so early when he was through. Defender wasn't getting close to him.

Drinkwater was very good. Amartey was better. How you come to the conclusion that Amartey isn't ready for 'it' baffles me.
st albans fox Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 Plenty of plus' delighted to see amartey show why we persisted in our attempts to sign him. Prior to today I wasn't sure but there is a player in there hopefully we can see another option in that centre midfield because In a few weeks, DD will not be playing every game. We need four 'starter' quality players to cover that area.

It must be exhausting playing the role of the Grammar Policeman on this forum! I actually quite like your football related threads but the pedantic quips are becoming tiresome. Take a chill pill, get laid, take drugs or something, but please let us be our thick, stupid selves in peace.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 27 August 2016 Posted 27 August 2016 Our whole team were excellent today. Drinkwater is a class act in every sense of his game, great to see how he's developed here over the years.
