Guest glasgowfox Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Embarrassing! !!! Do me a favour.....We are the champions my friend and we'll keep on singing till the end,..
EastAnglianFox Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Until we became champions I never really liked the "Champions of England, we know what we are" chant, but have to admit I love belting it out and will continue to do so with a big smile on my face, I still shake my head in disbelief when singing it as its still not properly sunk in that we even won the damn thing.
Raj Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 If your already Bored of being labeled Champions of England then there's something wrong in my opinion!!

We're all happy to become a Forest/Leeds banging on about the past rather than what's happening in front of our eyes. Enjoy last season, savour it, talk about it. But don't let it define us forever. What? It happened four months ago, not 40 years.
AyewJoking Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 part of winning the league is having bragging rights over everyone else for the next season at least. might become a bit awkward though unless our players sort themselves out soon.
Munshi Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Thought the first half atmosphere was actually ok in our end
ScouseFox Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 i will literally sing and talk about it as my first comment in every discussion about football for the rest of my life. leeds/forest/liverpool/whatever you want to call it couldn't give a fu ck. we are meant to get dicked by liverpool this season, we were meant to get dicked by them twice last year as well but didn't cos we won the fu cking league. us. the leicester. who cares about losing a random game to a better team. what did you want us to sing? "this season you're playing a bit better than us better than us better than us!!!!"? "we might not be any good anymore good anymore good anymore!!!!"? fu ck off
Finnegan Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 To be honest, it could have been 4 1 at their gaff last year. We were awful then as well. We still then dicked them and everyone else at our place.
Voll Blau Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 Just can't get my head round the fact people wouldn't want to celebrate our greatest achievement, heck one of professional football's greatest achievements, and go crazy singing about it every game. But then I see the state of most of our away end yesterday and it makes sense.

Your acting as though we are singing about something that happened 25-30 years ago, it only happened 4/5 bloody months ago Even if we were rock bottom I would still happily sing about us being champions.
harpendenfox Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 Should I wear my 'Leicester and Proud' tshirt on Wednesday, my Champions one, my European Tour one, or should I buy a 'Sort it out Ranieri' one?
sylofox Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 So I think ot is safe to say like 100% nobody agrees with the OP. So no one will care if I. WE KNOW WHAT WE ARE. WE KNOW WHAT WE ARE WE'RE CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND. WE KNOW WHAT WE ARE.

'Banging on about the past' It was last season, meaning that we ARE the current Champions regardless of what goes on on the pitch this year. Hardly puts us on a par with Forest or Leeds does it? Plus, if the team perform like that then singing about being champions is about all we've got . Oh and less-than-complimentary songs about other team's players have gone on forever and a day, not sure why some are talking as though this is some sort of distasteful new phenomenon.

Channies6thswan Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 Proof again it's all about where in the away end you are. I was end seat next to the Liverpool fans (behind the goal) and we all commented how good the atmosphere was in the away end. Speaking to someone sat in their new stand they also said we were loud. Then I read that other people thought we were crap.
Foxes1 Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 Why shouldn't we sing about winning the league, before the game yesterday we were approached by 2 Liverpool fans who congratulated us on winning the league last season so it is not only Leicester fans who remember it, but fans from other clubs as well. And it will still be like it for years to come
lcfc81 Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 Surely we should be singing about it forever, the song may change with time. However we should always be proud to sing about the greatest day our club has ever had?
lcfc81 Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 There has to be a great song somewhere in, 5000-1 favorites for relegation villa comeback vardy scoring record man city mauling tottenham coming for us champions of England
SemperEadem Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 Don't kid yourself, the atmosphere was awful. Bare the usual faces at the back of 123 giving it full gun others are just mutes. Sick to death of the weird and quizzical looks aimed at those who contribute something to the atmosphere. Was praying for yesterday to be decent with the late kick off time helping, thought it may have done so the way folks took to the 'on Wednesday nights' tune pre match. Sadly was not the case in the stands. As an away fan you go to back the lads vocally not just to brag and say to your mates you go to away games. Do hope Brugge end restores some pride in our away support.

Nick Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 We should stop singing Champions of England at the end of this season.
purpleronnie Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 Got to love fans in England, never have I read so much about what fans should and shouldn't sing. And the upshot is the quietest grounds in the world. Maybe if we weren't so self-conscious fans might actually sing and create a decent atmosphere.
Deucalion Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 I agree with the OP. We are currently on relegation form, and performances on the pitch are very worrying. Our midfield neither protects our back four nor provides for our strikers. As it stands, there isn't an obvious solution to this. Therefore, we would be much better off going back to a mentality of '40 points' than considering ourselves something a bit special when we clearly are not. The memories of last season will live with me forever, and I can die a few degrees happier for seeing Leicester win the league. But...a Billy Big Bollocks attitude will not help us one bit if we continue to struggle this season.
