The kid is certainly an enigma. It's interesting without a doubt.

When he seems to be unshackled, as in, not tied down to having to stick to some game plan, he looks different. He looks, more confident in just playing 'naturally', for want of a better term.

Second half today is a case in point. The game was over, effectively, so he could just go for it (like they all did to be fair). So he did.

This makes me think again, he'd look much better in a central midfield three, where some of the strict 'tactics' can be shared by another two players, thus enabling Amartey more time to play in his own way.

I still don't think the club have been kind to him, expecting him to sit tight and to stick to position. It looks unnatural to him. I strongly suspect at Copenhagen he was a bit of a star man, given license to play his own way.

I wann see him in a 4-3-3 as a box to box rather than a rigid 2.

Great for him to get his first goal for the club, and an important one at that. I've read he was good today which is very pleasing. Another promising performance to add to this collection, which I hope he can continue to build on.

Superb. He owes me a new set of shins.

Haha that's where baselayers come in, shin protectors. Limbs everywhere, really hope a decent video comes of that.

Didnt even know who scored for about 15 minutes.

He had a great game today and clearly growing in confidence which is good to see. He just needs to improve his passing and to look forward instead of sideways and backwards. He scored a superb goal today and hopefully it's the first of many. He's going to be quality.

I'm pretty sure this has been put to bed now, Amartey has potential.

Maybe now we will stop seeing "sell him" everytime he makes a mistake.

Yet to actually see somebody say sell him?

He's come into the team, in, let's be fair, shite circumstances. Had a couple of crackers and a lot of games where he looked so far out of his depth. He's settled down in the last few games and is looking decent. And despite my disagreement with you before, he has potential. How much? Not sure yet.

Think today again shows that him and King aren't the issue (although it's not a good combo), it's more how we play as a collective in terms of our approach. As Col has said, if the team is more aggressive, he looks better.

In the match thread I asked when would we see him in beast mode... a few mins later!!!

We know he has it in him, like Col says, if he is allowed to play with a bit more freedom, I think we will see more of his talent.

It would be great to see this team:

                       KS

Simpson - Huth - Wes - Fuchs

        Amartey - DD - Mendy

  Gray - Vardy/Slim/Ulloa - Mahrez

It's difficult to pick between Vardy, Slim and Ulloa at the moment. Neither Vardy nor Slim are playing that well, Ulloa is knocking on the door for a start. And of course we then still have Oka!!

Right now I'm full of admiration for the guy. He's come into a team that has just lost arguably now one of the worlds top midefield players, and probably wouldn't be playing regularly if mendy hadn't been injured all season. There have been countless more high profile players who have taken a hell of lot longer to acclimatise to the demands of premier league football. I still don't think we'll see the best of him until next season, but personally I think he will thrive in a central 3 behind 2 more attack minded players. He's never shied away from anything and I felt today he showed maturity beyond his experience. Chuffed for the lad and will not write him off even if he follows it up with a few average performances...

For a bloke who spends a lot of time on here checking other people's spelling mistakes I'll take your viewpoint and park it for the moment.

lol

How funny - if you actually read posts carefully, you'd realise just how many errors are made and that in actual fact I leave far more than I comment upon. But you make an ad hominem if it allows you to ignore a valid observation.

Massive today, a revelation. What a header at the end.

Up until today, he usually came across as too lightweight in midfield, overstrained, making it overly complicated and without a decent pass or drive going forward.

This has probably been his best match for us since he switched clubs - and that with a man down!

Let's just pray he can also do that in a 11 v 11 game! lol
