BigWesMorgan Posted 18 October 2016 Posted 18 October 2016 Best referee you've seen at the King Power?
Guest seanfox778 Posted 18 October 2016 Posted 18 October 2016 Mark Clattenburg. Leicester 5-3 Man Utd
foxfanazer Posted 18 October 2016 Posted 18 October 2016 Did I mention he's my mate? Known him for years
Livid Posted 18 October 2016 Posted 18 October 2016 He went unnoticed which is the highest compliment you can give. Just watched Slimani's goal on BT and it was tight but the Lino called it wrong.
goose2010 Posted 18 October 2016 Posted 18 October 2016 Definitely up there, compared to the last one in champs league he was worlds apart, he let two physical teams play, which is really not the usual in Europe, fair play! Some Copenhagen fans are moaning about a penalty they should have had? I honestly don't know what they are on about?
Lionator Posted 18 October 2016 Posted 18 October 2016 Italian refs are generally quite good in Europe, plus he refereed the last WC final so what do you expect? Fantastic to see praise though!
Babylon Posted 18 October 2016 Posted 18 October 2016 Was exceptional, especially compared to the last clown. Thought their strikers targeted Huth and were trying to prevoke him and con the ref and he didn't fall for any of it.

Slimani was definitely holding their player before the kick was taken.
Wymsey Posted 18 October 2016 Posted 18 October 2016 Should've booked their player who faked injury once or twice.
lee7 Posted 18 October 2016 Posted 18 October 2016 Brilliant ref. Allowed tough tackling and physical challenges & in general took no nonsense. Compare him to the ref we had for the Porto match and they are worlds apart.
Larry_LCFC Posted 18 October 2016 Posted 18 October 2016 Didn't really have any big calls to make but let it flow well enough.
NewEnglandFox Posted 18 October 2016 Posted 18 October 2016 Burley said he was a top 5 ref in the world before kickoff.
ealingfox Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 Italians make the best refs because they wrote the book on shithousing in footy, can spot any trick in the book a mile off.
Russell sprout Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 I've always been sceptical of Italian refs due to there theatrical style in which they try to win fouls, therefore Italian refs start stopping the games like a game of rugby, but always admired that bald headed collini ref who if I remember was rated the best in the world when he refereed, tonights fully restored my faith in Italian refs, imo the ref v Porto ruined the game where as tonights ref made the win more enjoyable, i personally like mark clattenberg when he refs out games but tonight's ref has eclipsed his performances, i really think he was that good tonight, 10/10
It'sblueupnorth Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 Just done a bit of research on the guy and he's the IFFHS worlds best ref for the last 2 years, has been the best ref in the serie A for the last 5 years and got a globe award for the best ref in 2014
urban.spaceman Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 Thought he was excellent, can't have any complaints especially seeing as he didn't fall for any of Santander's antics. What a contrast to the Porto ref.

lgfualol Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 Didnt even think about the ref, that's how good he was. Not like in the Prem where refs make the games all about their egos.

sk3since03 Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 Imagine how nice life would be if all refs applied themselves as well as last night's ref did! If i chose a favourite, it'd be him haha
harpendenfox Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 Calm and in control all evening. Brilliant performance
