If we lose I can't watch MOTD
Beliall Posted 6 November 2016 Posted 6 November 2016 Normally a defeat would leave me in a poor mood for a few hours, but todays performance was so "meh" i struggle to give a single ****

Today I can't believe we lost but I just thought back to Bocelli and the Everton game and everything seemed nice again!!! Exactly this, it's not nice losing but cannot influence it at all, there for the ride, how ever difficult or easy it will be in future.
AKCJ Posted 6 November 2016 Posted 6 November 2016 I reckon that last year i'd have let that completely ruin my week but I actually really enjoyed my time today. Went into the City early and caught up with a couple of mates, went to the game and sat in the 'posh' seats and just had a good time with friends. It's superb service in there and the experience is far less stressful. I've since come home, watched Attenborough's latest masterpiece, has a cracking sausage sandwich for tea and i'm now settling down with a coffee and a book. The result is a shame but I think I just enjoy football more nowadays having won it. I'm also comforted by the fact that we can't continue to have poor luck forever and that even if we do go on like this we won't be relegated. I know where my club belongs and, as much as I enjoyed it, last season was a one off. We're going to go back to fighting for the top half of the table and i'm fine with that. I'm currently strapped firmly into the Leicester City roller coaster and I have no intention of ever getting off. We're all Leicester, aren't we?
weller54 Posted 6 November 2016 Posted 6 November 2016 Just want this season over.. survive in the PL.. get a good summer transfer window done and a sensible pre season set of friendlies... and go again for 17/18!..
Lcfc_lass10 Posted 6 November 2016 Posted 6 November 2016 Not that bothered anymore. Especially after last season. As long as I've had a good day with my mates, that's what matters to me. Obviously I'm dissapointed when we lose, but it happens.
lgfualol Posted 6 November 2016 Posted 6 November 2016 Was angry at the start of the season when we lost but after games I accept that things will be back to normal now. During games I get very pissed off though.
AyewJoking Posted 6 November 2016 Posted 6 November 2016 i feel bad after a defeat but furious when we are rubbish when i wake up tomorrow its all gonna sink in again
Corky Posted 6 November 2016 Posted 6 November 2016 Defeats used to get to me when I was younger (and we also won far fewer games) but now I'll be annoyed for a while but it will pass.
FoyleFox Posted 6 November 2016 Posted 6 November 2016 It varies from sad that we've lost to incandescent with rage. Depending on the manner of the defeat. Played well but the other team were better is easier to deal with than if we don't look like we're even having a good crack at it.
Almo-Fox Posted 6 November 2016 Posted 6 November 2016 Leceister got unlucky , because it was a chance to get the 8 th place since Southampton and watford lost their matches But this is football and WBA got lucky and DD is not to blame It hurts bu I'm so confident that ranieri has learnt his lesson about choosing the right players
lee7 Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 When I was younger a bad result or poor performance would leave me annoyed until the next match but now it probably takes about 2 hours until I'm in a better mood. i can accept losing if we've played some good stuff & just been outplayed by a better team but today was just abysmal.
inckley fox Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 My dad used to cope worse with losing football matches than anyone I've ever known. On one occasion he ripped my season ticket up, on another he threw a radio at me. Once he threw me out of the house for trying to persuade him not to send another abusive fax to the then-Leicester manager. I honestly thought he'd end up going to prison, like that woman in Talking Heads. He'd go days on end without speaking to anyone. If you've ever seen that episode of Ripping Yarns about Barnstoneworth United's most loyal, and disconsolate, fan - that's my dad. I mean, he's an incredibly kind old man under normal circumstances, but there was something about substandard Marc North / Brian Carey / Lee Marshall performances which really stoked the demon within. I seriously wondered what he might be capable of.
stripeyfox Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 I used to get the proper hump when we lost but now I go with my 8 year old son, I try and set a good example by being as magnanimous as possible. I don't want him being upset over some football team so it's just a shrug of the shoulders, a gentle "come on son, it's only a game" and call in to McDonalds on the way home and it's all forgotten.
Crinklyfox Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 I wish it were different but I can't help feeling gutted after a loss and it stays with me for a while. Not currently helped by fans of other clubs gleefully advising me that 'Leicester are back where they belong'. I long for the day when the owners dreams are realised and we're a club that sits comfortably in the upper reaches of the PL every season.
davieG Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 Awful games like yesterday just make the weather so much colder, the only time I felt warm yesterday was when Slimani scored other than that moment there wasn't anything in that game to get me out of my frozen seated body. Afterwards it was a case of normal lcfc service resumed which I've become immune too.
weller54 Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 Getting loads of texts from gloating Spurs /Arsenal /Chelsea fans... hope you enjoyed last season /freak season /You'll be back in the Championship before you know it /we dodged a bullet by not signing Vardy / Don't think we need to be 'coming for you ' this season / etc etc.. All hurtful... But true!
Guest Col city fan Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 I think this worrying about how we play, and the feeling lasting, is a bit of young person's thing. I remember as a kid at Filbert Street, I'd be REALLY hyped up about the next game and really angry when we lost. This up and down of emotions would last the whole season. As I've gotten older, I just have other things to be bothered about. How on earth Honey G has made it so far in the X factor...! how many years I've got left until I retire, whether the family are all healthy and well, how my lad is doing in Nottingham etc.. Football pales into insignificance when you realize, actually, it doesn't really matter too much. Especially IMO, when the players lifestyles and salaries are so far removed from the bulk of the public that it's obscene. They are not bothered about us particularly I wouldn't imagine? There is still this mythical belief of the footballer loving the club they are playing for, feeling the fan's pain when we lose, having an affinity to a certain manager etc... with a few exceptions (e.g. Andy King), I came to realize this is all bollox. Footballers are just good at what they do. Like a scientist has an innate ability to complete mathematical equations, so a footballer is pretty much born with talent in their feet. Like all successful people, they then hone that talent. So no, frankly I take it all with a pinch of salt. I write on here for something to do and to get opinion. But to say I'm bothered when we lose? No not too much anymore.
weller54 Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 What happened last season has changed everything though... our expectations are just so much higher now.. That's really the problem! Suppose it's just getting back and accepting reality! (last season wasn't real).
The Blur Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 So what we have learnt from this thread is that the best way to cope with losses is to have children. Time to **** a hole in condoms folks.
foxy boxing Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 you have to take the punches with the praise and other stuff, it is part of being a supporter especially one of a club that has had so many ups and downs.obviously from doing so well last season it hurts more this season when we lose
RowlattsFox Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 I genuinely don't feel as bad after a defeat now as I did before last season. I still feel the frustration of course but nowhere near as bad. I don't if it is because we reached the pinnacle or its because I don't go to games as often.
Matt Posted 19 November 2016 Posted 19 November 2016 Badly, not as bad as before last season but i'm pissed off, it ruins my weekend, people might think that's sad and abit silly but I can't help it, I don't want to feel like that. Like I said i'm not as bad now thanks to last season, but that's still fairly fresh, if this continues it'll get worse. The great escape season I was just pissed off and in a bad mood after losing games, despite us playing well in games. This season we're far from playing well and that it'd soften the blow alot if we were playing well, I am/was always a results over performances person but the poor performances are what is really pissing me off. Feel like investing in a punch bag could help!
Guest LCFC_World Posted 19 November 2016 Posted 19 November 2016 Obviously want us to win but there are more important things than to worry about a football result
