Rio: Kane ‘on a different planet’ to Sturridge, Vardy

Kane is better then vardy.there is no doubt about that. A better passer. A better player on the ball. A clinical finisher. Can link up play and play as the only striker in a press oriented team. The only thing that vardy has over him is pace. he is younger. And he does not seem to pack an attitude with him. He has been consistent for two EPL season (20+ goals in both)and doesn't seem like a player that could be nullified easily. He is the second best strike in the league after KUN

Not understanding why Sturridge is rated highly by certain fans and pundits.

He is very very good. Can position him self well. Good pace. Good shot. Can pass. Can dribble. They only down side to him is his injury problems and some "selfish" plays that he does. And he is an English striker in a footballer's prime years (27)

If he goes to the big wigs at Spurs asking for 220,000 then he'll be sold on the 1st of January.

100k is his level. Just because we're overpaying for Vardy (for sentimental reasons as much as anything) and Liverpool are overpaying for Sturridge (I say 'overpaying' only because he's often injured. He's a far superior footballer to Kane) it does not mean that Kane should be on over double.

He's worth 100k every day of the week and he'll get that. But he's not even close to the likes of Aguero, De Bruyne, Sanchez, Coutinho, Hazard, Costa and Ozil. Those players are worth over 200k a week.

“Then there are his fellow England team-mates, Jamie Vardy and Daniel Sturridge, earning at least double that.

“If I was Kane and his advisors, I wouldn’t be using those two as a gauge. I’d be looking down at them because they’re not on the same planet.

You talk sh1te Ferdinand ....    sorry must go, very busy today,  just off to build a bonfire build a bonfire ...

Poor hard done by individuals - how could you possibly survive on a meagre £50K a week....????????

Kane is a great player - his goalscoring record speaks for itself. In addition he actually seems like a decent lad and the fact that he isn't kicking Daniel Levy's door down for a pay rise every other month is also credit to him.

That's fair enough Stripey ...     but Ferdinand still talks sh1te.

I think he's overrated to be honest. Loves a 20 yard shot despite generally being terrible (apart from the wide curl to far corner). 1 assist last year...how many did Vardy get?

Yes "selfish", which as football has evolved over recent seasons renders Sturridge a very difficult pick to be a starter with a top side.

These days most teams need a striker who works hard for the team and scores goals. His selfishness outweighs any positives he may have. Its no coincidence a whole raft of his managers don't fancy him.

He's lazy plain and simple.

Take your blue tinted specs off and Kane is better than Vardy.

Hes not in Sergio's League but he is a better all round player than Vardy.

He should get more than his £50k a week when you compare it to Vardys £100k and Wooneys £250k but that's his agent and Daniel Levyd issue...Fevk all to do with anyone else!

I truly believe that Harry Kane is overrated, and the media are doing their usual thing of building someone up to be God-like, just to have the chance to knock them down as soon as they can or want to.

He seems a very limited striker to me. No pace, no real strength, no genuine threat in the air and certainly not a flair player. Most his goals are tap-ins or from the penalty spot, and he has been fortunate to have a very talented side around him, as well as a top class, attacking manager.

I'm sure he will play in the Prem most his career and will score goals, but he certainly is not the world class striker the media and others are trying to build him up to be.

This I agree Col

I don't agree.

Given the the choice of Suarez, Aguerro, Lewandowski, Greizmann, etc etc .... he's too injury prone.

Kane is an interesting player to me.

Fantastic goalscoring record, yet doesnt really have a standout attribute. Just all round very good and has a goalscorers instinct.

Easily worth a bigger contract.

Needs to leave Spurs to further his career. They had their chance and blew it. This years CL just goes to show how wrong everyone was building the England 2016 team around the Spurs 'chokers'

If I owned a football club and I wanted to win trophies this season, I would buy Vardy. Both are out of form but if you supplied the ammo to Vardy I would still picture him scoring. This season he looks poor but isnt getting any bloody chances! However, as someone whose game is about pace and having seen upteen strikers hammys start to go as they hit 30 due to the way they play, Vardy wouldnt be a better option than Kane long term. Kane only just turned 23 and has a great all round game and could be doing this for 6-10 more years. Because he isnt that pacy and plays the game using his brains a bit more you would imagine he would also have more longevity. You would also think he will improve (we all know where Vards was at 23!).

So to answer Rios point he is right in a way. As an asset he is on a different level. Considering the money he is on he should be asking for mega money as an English striker of his age who has managed more than a goal a game for his club. You know he would attract a 40-50m fee if he was to be sold and he wont be short of takers.
