This is tactics, to sit back and absorb, rather then sit back, press, force the mistake and counter!! Dr Singh you always seem to hit the nail on the head. Take the job, please.
LFEFox23 Posted 13 December 2016 Posted 13 December 2016 Take Drinky and Mahrez out of our team, Who else actually creates anything for us?! Hernandez IS NOT a right back! Musa, pace yes brain no. King, Passenger game passes him by. Amartey, Not confident or good enough to play CM. Morgan, Not invincible...Sign a CB in Jan. Slimani, Can't work him out...Still unsure if he's worth £10m let alone £30m. Rant Done, Truly disappointed tonight. But Bring on Stoke...Kasper Drinky Mendy and Simpson all in please!
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 13 December 2016 Posted 13 December 2016 Hmmm now then, I wonder what the team and formation will be for the Stoke game....
Fox92 Posted 13 December 2016 Posted 13 December 2016 Gray aside, (and maybe Kapuska but fvck knows what's going on there), our better players are Pearson/Walsh signings.

The problem was the lack of supply and it just baffles me why Ranieri didn't instruct his players to go more out wide and smack them long balls into the box. Apart from one chance, we were getting nowhere with our passing when Slimani was still on. do you even watch us? Steve Howard, Leo Ulloa, Steve Walsh, Matt Elliot they are powerful headers of the ball, not that powderpuff.

Credit where credits due, last season we had the magic formation/tactics but this year we seem to have one way or lose. Sunderland Hull Watford WBA Bournemouth to take no points from those fixtures in any season is not acceptable but each case they've had our number for 90 minutes. That can't be ok. Even the best teams in the world have to change and adapt different styles as not only do the playing styles evolve but also, the data analysts play a massive part in today's tactical side that to play the same way without very technical/ tactical players is just naive. we need more than a plan a
ZeGuy Posted 13 December 2016 Posted 13 December 2016 Shit. Utter shit. It just shows how crazy Guardiola was, by trying to be too clever and go with his set-up last saturday. Guess ManCity fans must even more livid than we are. Can't believe the kind of football we are playing. The midfield was completely torn apart in the first half. It was shocking to see how Bournemouth got through and had all the time of the world to build their attacks. No triangle play, no overlapping from the full backs, no support whatsoever from the midfield in the offensive phases, said midfield is completely overran as soon the opponent gets the ball. The most simple basics aren't there. How many players can even control the ball? Not even able to string three passes? At this level? How's that even possible? Just hoof that fvcking ball and pray god something happens. They took the highway straight to championship. A few got blinded by saturday and forgot that every single goal was made possible, besides Guardiola's hubris, by bypassing our midfield. Why Gray didn't get a chance, but the headless roadrunner did is beyond me. Why Mendy didn't play in the second half is beyond me. Why it is always the SAME fvcking changes at the SAME fvcking time game in, game out is beyond me.

Nice how you only quote half the sentence. You're right we did win at the weekend by surrendering possession but we've also picked up 1pt from Bournemouth, West Brom, Watford, Middlesbrough and Sunderland from the other five games outside the last six. I'll stick by what I said, surrendering 70% of the ball isn't a long term recipe for success. We did it last season but no other successful club in history have done it.

Tuna Posted 13 December 2016 Posted 13 December 2016 Claudio says he's 'pleased with the performance'.
49er Posted 13 December 2016 Posted 13 December 2016 The worst thing is that this is an incredibly average Premier League. Sides like WBA and Bournemouth in the top half support this view. If we had kept the same team without any signings we probably would have been doing better than we are. As for the short corners, forget them and just swing the ball in lads!

But hey ho, great to see you give your fully subjective input once more (without any intentional wind-up involved). Welcome back!

When we we don't press and are languid and considered we just end up looking clueless and it doesn't suit our players The interesting thing is that it's correctly been spotted that Claudio has on occasions chastised players for closing down so it's all part of a plan. Yep. **** knows what that plan could possibly be though. Got to change the tactics away if we're changing the style.

You have a goalie basically to make that one or two out of the ordinary stops a game that wins you the points. Has Ziegler made one save that sticks in your mind that makes you go wow?

adam Posted 13 December 2016 Posted 13 December 2016 Claudio pleased with the performance and the shape. You couldn't make it up.
The People's Hero Posted 13 December 2016 Posted 13 December 2016 We also discussed donuts. We need some closure on that too. Some kind of after the event thinking.
Kitchandro Posted 13 December 2016 Posted 13 December 2016 I'm devastated. How can we be this poor? Especially when we know we can play so well. Man City were poor defensively but make no mistake, we were brilliant. Anyone can see the huge chasm of difference between that performance and every single away one, including this one. It's such a tragic waste. Massively deflating, nay, heartbreaking to see what we've become.

st albans fox Posted 13 December 2016 Posted 13 December 2016 I missed the first 35 mins which probably explains why I thought we weren't THAT bad. Looks like they cared and made the efffort but you have to give them a template with which to play against a team that press you as soon as you get possession. So tough to find an easy pass for the man who has it when there isn't a spare player in the middle to link it all up. Bournemouth had conceded 9 in three. No surprise that they would concentrate on being compact when not having the ball. we had to be cleverer than that and it comes down to the manager who has to manage and not be most of the players best mate.

I don't know if they were told not to leave their own half or what!!!! yeah i really feel sorry for them on their wages, get a grip vardy one on one with goalie, plus fresh air shot, mahrez giving the ball away for their goal, and slimani what exactly did he do for you to feel sorry for him
Buzzell Posted 13 December 2016 Posted 13 December 2016 Hopefully our season will be back on track once Drinkwater and Mendy are back and fit. Change of formation is a must imo.
