Loan to a Championship team next season please.

 

If he stays here, will he get ahead of King, James, and Medny? For a spot on the bench? Or if he's becoming more of a winger/attacking midfielder - ahead of Gray, Lawrence, Kapustka? Again, just for a spot on the bench?

 

If he stays here, he'll get limited game time, probably be used in our u23s, and regress.

Absolutely. Keep him developing at a league club where he'll get a good amount of game time. Barnsley seem to have looked after James and Elder well this season. It looks like they'll be staying in the Championship as well. I wonder if there will be a place in their team for a player like Barnes next season.

 

At the top end of that division (which is fairly likely), I wonder if he would get minutes at a team like Villa next season?

Our manager (Robbie Neilson - also ex-Leicester) has said he is meeting with your lot next week to try and secure Harvey next season. Guess his reasoning is that he is near enough guaranteed to start every game here, instead of possibly being on the bench a lot more in the Championship. We are aiming to win the league next season according to Neilson and Harvey would be a real contribution towards that. 

 

Personally don't think we have a chance of seeing him back here, but I guess with Neilson's Leicester connection it's worth a go.

We owe Neilson nothing.. He was a pathetic / embarrassment of a player for us!

Can't see it happening, I imagine we'll want to see how he does in the Championship or even as part of the squad for the Prem.

'Season long loan' he wouldn't play for us anyway so what's the point?

Players usually don't come back after their season is done during a loan. He'll be back with us pre season next season.

Fair enough, just thought now that we are safe he could come back and be on the bench if drinkwater doesn't pick up his form.

Hope we give him a chance next season and don't loan him straight away to the championship.

Think he's more of a winger than a midfielder player. Would be nice to see him play for Leicester next season though

Yeh just seen a comment in another thread that he has been most effective at LW this season. Though he was mainly a midfielder as thats where he played for our youth team and in the Porto game.

Be interesting to see his development and who is more favoured out of him and Kapustka as they both seem to be similar players?
