nnfox Posted 7 January 2017 Posted 7 January 2017 Gonna be really tough this one but no reason why we can't give this a really good go. Looking forward to seeing Ndidi. A midfield 3 of Ndidi - Mendy - Drinkwater has real potential to be the solid heart of the team and the three of them need time to gel Realistically Musa needs to start which is deserved, but he needs to be down the middle. It would be harsh to drop him. Does that mean that Vardy's place at risk or can we play those two together? Having Gray and Albrighton gives a nice balance to the team, particulary going forward but one of them will have to miss out if Vardy returns and Musa plays. Either 1. Go for it: Kasper Simpson - Morgan - Huth - Fuchs Mendy - Ndidi Drinkwater Musa - Vardy - Gray Or 2. Keep it tight: Kasper Simpson - Morgan - Huth - Chilwell Mendy - Ndidi Albrighton - Drinkwater - Fuchs Musa/Vardy

Bob Weasel Fox Posted 7 January 2017 Posted 7 January 2017 I wouldn't boo Kante but I don't give a shit about him anymore as he plays for the opposition (that said thanks for last season ) anyway up The Foxes hopefully a decent result
nnfox Posted 7 January 2017 Posted 7 January 2017 Just now, Slim Dog said: Why couldn't we just play that second formation but with Gray on the left? Because Fuchs offers more defensively. Chelsea are bang in form with world beaters all over the pitch, if you let them play then they will beat us 9 times out of 10. It is unlikely that Claudio will throw caution into the wind and go all out to out score them. it is much more likely that the game plan will be to crowd them, keep it tight and then open up with 20 minutes to go when fresh Gray legs could be fruitful. Don't forget, our next three home games are Chelsea, Man U and Liverpool. We won't want to get smashed in the first one of those three, especially as there is a sense of a corner being turned after 3 away games without defeat and performances compared to last season becoming less infrequent.

I agree but I think if it was going to happen then Chilwell and Fuchs would be the other way around.
nnfox Posted 7 January 2017 Posted 7 January 2017 Kante should get a big cheer from us. He was brilliant for us! Look how much we have missed him this season. Footballers move on from time to time and as much as I wish he had stayed with us for many more seasons, he chose to leave. It was his choice to go and seek employment with a rival - it happens. Whilst he was here though, he didn't put a foot wrong, on or off the pitch, it was an absolute pleasure to see him in Leicester shirt. So, give him a big cheer. Say thank you for everything he did for us! Now, if Ndidi wants to kill him on the pitch, I'm fine with that.

foxes21 Posted 7 January 2017 Author Posted 7 January 2017 Maybe 4-3-1-2 to accommodate both Vardy & Musa upfront? Kasper Simpson, Morgan, Huth, Fuchs Drinkwater, Ndidi, Mendy Kapustka Vardy, Musa

And yes musa needs to start with his confidence
crazyleicester Posted 7 January 2017 Posted 7 January 2017 Kasper Simpson - Huth - Weso - Chillwell Gray - Mendy - Danny - Ndidi - Musa Vardy 451 that turns into a 433 with Gray and Musa bombing on. Id also like Musa and Vardy to swap a bit because its time to utilise our pace. Last season we were running around like nutters, we sign more speed merchants and at times look pedestrian this season which makes little sense. I love Fuchs but I want Chilwell to have another crack at Victor Moses. I also cant wait to have three players in midfield who can pass the ball to set the speed merchants free.

Go attacking but change to 4-5-1 if struggling and bring Albrighton on for Musa or Gray. Very tough game though. Would be happy with a draw
Guest Danny Clender Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Balls to him, lets give Kante a great reception. I think he's expecting a back lash and for sure there will be sections of the crowd that will not forgive him, that's fine, let them get on with it, but he did do a remarkable job for us, move on, the end. Ok, back to this topic. Firstly I'm giving massive respect to Ranieri. Its been a right old dilly-ding dilly-dong of a ride so far. He's had his up's and down's, who doesn't, but he has changed tactics and formations and we are looking better. Everybody was saying it on here, more like shouting it towards the end, but his stubbornness has loosened or could it be he's taken control of his players again, either way I'm happy to see the changes in our style. The 3 in midfield looks so much better and with Mendy and Ndidi both looking looking promising and Drinkwater returning back from injury and finding some form, wouldn't this be a lovely time to hit the form we were expecting. This game should see Vardy back, I always thought the Vardy / Musa partnership should have worked, is it time to try it out again? On paper it should be a terrifying prospect, but it just never worked. Perhaps after yesterdays game Musa should be feeling more confident. I'd certainly give it a try. My team would be Schmeichel Simpson Morgan Huth Chilwell (sorry to Fuch's but I'm really enjoying seeing Chilwell play) Ndidi Gray Drinkwater Mendy Vardy Musa 4-1-3-2 Or keep it the same as yesterday, replacing Ulloa to Vardy, then Alrbrighton to Musa. Just have to look at the Tottenham game to work out how to beat Chelsea.
elvisfmcfly Posted 9 January 2017 Posted 9 January 2017 Schmeichel Simpson Morgan Huth Fuchs Drinkwater Ndidi Mendy Albrighton Musa Gray Zieler,Chilwell,Hernandez,Vardy,Kaputska,Okazaki,James. Would like to see Musa gain confidence keeping his place down the middle,Vardy off the bench. Toss up between Ulloa and Okazaki for last spot on the bench.
RonnieTodger Posted 9 January 2017 Posted 9 January 2017 Schmeichel Fuchs Morgan Huth Simpson Drinkwater Ndidi Mendy Gray Vardy/Musa Albrighton Really is a tough call to see who plays up top. Would be very harsh to drop Musa.
RowlattsFox Posted 9 January 2017 Posted 9 January 2017 Musa has to start but it won't be instead of Vardy down the middle. Gray is easier to replace so Musa will be left. Fuchs will be in for Chilwell and the rest will be the same I reckon.
foxy boxing Posted 9 January 2017 Posted 9 January 2017 really tough game this, they will most likely play with three at the back so we need to counter that!. we should play three in midfield with Mendy and Ndidi just in front of the back four/three.we need to use our pace to frighten them and have Musa coming on at some point and having drinkwater getting further forward to deliver steller passes. feed the moose and he will score, so let's make hay while we can!
brucey Posted 9 January 2017 Posted 9 January 2017 Kasper Usual back 4 Albrighton - Ndidi Drinky Mendy - Chilwell Vardy
CosbehFox Posted 9 January 2017 Posted 9 January 2017 I'd like us to start with 4-3-3 we are playing. If we can soak it up, hit them on the break and get behind their wing backs
Ted Maul Posted 9 January 2017 Posted 9 January 2017 Schmeichel Simpson Morgan Huth Fuchs Drinkwater Ndidi Mendy Albrighton Gray Vardy Need to keep 3 in the middle- it has served us well so far, and if we turn up without sufficient cover for the back 4, the game will be over by half time. It will have to be very much a Leicester performance- defend like beavers, keep it tight, win the ball when possible and hit them as hard as we can on the break. Musa to come off the bench when required.
BrummieFOX Posted 9 January 2017 Posted 9 January 2017 Yeh, got to be 4-3-3/4-5-1 for me. As harsh as it'd be I wouldn't start Musa and get Vards straight back in up top.
harpendenfox Posted 9 January 2017 Posted 9 January 2017 Have to play to our strengths, our pace. Mendy and Ndidi provide the defensive cover we will undoubtedly need, Drinky a little more advanced, with the aim of threading passes to Gray, Vardy or Musa, who can be interchangeable. Looking forward to an impassioned atmosphere and reminding Chelse that it is we who are, currently, the champions of England.
