The Horse's Mouth Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 Good luck to him, he likely doesn't have a future here but an opportunity to put himself in the shop window
AKCJ Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 Good luck to him. Up to him to prove his fitness. If he stays fit he'll do well for Barnsley. Close to home too.
filbertstreet Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 poor guy, nobody should ever have to go to barnsley

stevelcfc Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 Good luck to him. Needs regular game time to prove his fitness, hopefully will come back and given a chance to prove his quality to us.
StriderHiryu Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 Good Luck Matty! Super unfortunate to get such a terrible injury. Hope you can revive your career and if you can get back to your best, you're welcome back here. Made several vital contributions for us and a big part of the "Great Escape" season.
harpendenfox Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 a crucial few months for Matty. Really hope he gets a run of games, because, to use a cliché, if it goes well, it will be like signing a new player in the summer. Will be watching Barnsley's fortunes with more interest than normal
Lcfc_lass10 Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 Best thing for him really. Get some minutes under his belt then hopefully his fitness gets back up to a high standard.
Soar Fox Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 Good for him to get some playing time in the championship. We will need him when we are there next season.
MC Prussian Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 All the best with the Tykes, Matty! Really looking forward to the Barnsley scores now and hopefully, we can have you back fitter and better than ever before!
Jonezy Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 Man, I really hope this goes well. Good luck Matty!
foxes21 Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 Hope he can still make it here. Good luck Matty!
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 All the best to James. I think Barnsley have themselves a very good player and he could prove to be the difference for them, potentially. He's a coup to get in that division given he won the Championship with us in 2013/14 and played regularly in that campaign too. Tidy midfielder. Hopefully he shows the form he's capable of and does well.
kingfox Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 Really hope he can get back to full fitness and show the form he showed with us before he got injured. Barnsley will have one of the best midfielders in the league if that happens, if not then I hope they're not too harsh on him.

Rather do an away in Beirut. 18 months in the town was all I could stand. Hope he enjoys his time. Get fit matty for next season then boss it.
Fox92 Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 Best of luck to all. Good little club Barnsley, having another good season.
crazyleicester Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 Its easy to forget how much he contributed to our club in the last 24 months although not the last 12! Its a sign of how much we have come on. However, unlike some players we loan out I reckon Matty James at just 25 is still good enough to play for us. If he returns to his peak form then he could easily challenge the current central midfielders we have. The problem will be how he has come back after injury. I hope he does great for them and I am delighted he didnt go to Forest as rumoured.
chicagofox Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 Fast forward 3 weeks on FT; James has had 3 or 4 good games for Barnsley and multiple posters decide that he (and Tom Lawrence) are the answer to our current problems. I hope this leads to a permanent move for him.
TJB-fox Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 A fully fit Matty James will be one of the best centre mids in that league. Get him up there fitness wise and Barnsley have pulled a blinder here (yes I know they lost Hourihane)
