Matt Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 £80k a week? Bargain compared to what we're paying some of the mercenaries we currently have 'playing' for us.
Nick Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 A right back that can play centre back - hard to say no right now even though he's not a permenant solution.
Callabinho Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 Anyone who says no to this is ****ing retarded. He's better than our entire back four...

And apologies for being retarded. Ps - for those with short memories he was the player* whose form & fitness fell most dramatically off a cliff last year, in a seemingly inexplicable collective Chelsea collapse after winning the title the year before... *well, Hazard too, to be fair
dannythefox Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 Better than what we have and loads of experience. Just what we need but can't see it happening.

At CB it may suit him better.
CKB Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 I think I'd have him, he's an improvement on DS (for whatever he did last season I still think he's a seriously shit footballer) The thing is we are crying out for more pace in them areas and Ivanovic won't give us that. But he should give us more stability It's a tricky one, I think short term it's a no brainer though
Bablemikey Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 He's been an outstanding RB in his time and goal threat too. But since last season he's looked very vulnerable. I don't think he'd be too much better than what we already have.

lee7 Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 Aslong as he would be replacing one of the two centre backs. Stick him at right back and we suddenly have the slowest defence in the league!

Guest Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 Think he'd be a great signing if played at cb. Lack of pace isn't crucial but he is so so much better than Morgan or huth on the ball which we are badly in need of.

From the transfer talk guidelines thread. There is no reason for this thread to exist, all it does is give people false hope that there are actual links to this player. But that's the point. There is a link only a newspaper but a link none the less. Probably more in this than some of the guff on here
jonthefox Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 Decent enough, but sounds like a panic buy to me.
RumbleFox Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 Och, if we could get him cheap enough as competition for Huth and Wes I cannot see why anyone would not jump at this. He has won two Premier Leagues, three FA Cups, a League Cup, the Community Shield , the UEFA Cup and the Champions League (thanks Wiki). And though he may be past his best he is 32 not 42. He also weighs in with goals and seems to be a pro?
HoustonFox Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 I would take him for the rest of the season but looks like he isn't going anywhere as he played today. Conte doesn't play uncommitted players. Seriously, we need a replacement for Simpson. Please, PLEASE, PLEASE!
Ric Flair Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 Pay him top whack for 18 months. Then in the summer buy two new younger centre halves and move Huth and/or Morgan on. A new right back too.
Stadt Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 Was a liability for Chelsea last season, I really don't think he'd be an improvement on Huth and Morgan which is saying a lot
