15 games to go.  19 points needed to get to 40.

Home Games

Man Utd

Liverpool

Hull

Stoke

Sunderland

Spurs

Watford

Bournemouth

Away Games

Swansea

Arsenal

West Ham

Everton

Palace

WBA

Man City

I can't see us getting anything from the home games against Utd, Liverpool and Spurs meaning if we win the 5 remaining games that gives us 15 points.  We would need to pick up 4 points on our travels.  Can't see us getting anything at Arsenal or Man City meaning we need 4 points from 5 games.  I have a bad feeling that we are going to do a Leeds and not win away from home all season like they did the season after winning the league, meaning we can only lose one other away match.

Guys and girls, we are in a dire situation.  Not winning 5 home games puts extra pressure on our fragile away form.  Even if we won 4 and drew 1 at home (13pts) it means we need 6 points away.   Put simply, the Swansea game is MASSIVE.  Lose that I think we'll be odds on for relegation.  We are currently 5/1.

To be honest nnfox - the mess we are in I cannot say with any confidence we can win any game at the moment.  Of course we have to and will win some games but the fact our performances are so inconsistent that I don't have a clue where those wins will come from.  Maybe if we do drop into the bottom 3 is when reality finally hits the players and suddenly we see some fight, conviction and desire like the season before. Go on a crazy run of wins and drag the club out of the mess. I hope & prAy.

It does look a bit grim. By my reckoning, we've won 2 games in 14 since the start of November (Manchester City and West Ham at home). Thtat's relegation form whichever way you look at it. I still think it would be a crying shame to sack Ranieri as it seems such a bitter end to the fairytale but it's getting harder to make a case for him remaining. Most Premier League teams would be getting twitchy after a run like that.

I still think that we will just about scrape through.

Ideal scenario is that we stay up and CR "retires" in the summer with his (and our) dignity more or less intact.

At the moment there is no team in the league in worse form. We have United and Liverpool as our next home games and go to Swansea in the biggest game of the season knowing we must win. We are ****ed in my opinion.

Name 3 worse teams? I can name 1 in Hull and potentially Sunderland but given they do this every year they can't be counted on to go down.

Can't see 19 points from those games, especially with over half the season gone and only 21 points. 2 players recruited, more sold or loaned out on an already threadbare squad. We are shit out of luck and haven't done anything about it.

I think we will win 4 of those home games and pick up one away win. Draws will take us over the line.

5 wins, 4 draws, 6 loses.

It doesn't need to be a great escape just bottom half form.

Crikey, I can only see 14 points at the moment:-

Sunderland H win

Hull H win

Stoke H Draw

Watford H Draw

Bournemouth H Draw

Palace A Draw

WBA Draw

C Pal A Draw

Everton A Draw

Swansea A Draw

Knowing us we'll get points where we don't expect and mess up the winable ones, it's going to be tight, our abismal away record is a huge handicap

Problem is we wont know the form of a lot of those teams at the time.

For example, West Brom could have absolutely **** all to play for by the time we face them. Watford, Bournemouth and Palace could either be games against teams in mid table close season or 6 pointer.

Carroll could be injured  by the time we play West Ham etc.

I'm aware that if we show up we'll stay up but these little things can make the difference.

The only team playing worse than us at the moment is Sunderland and they managed to show enough spunk to hold Spurs last night.

hull look decent with  the new managers organisation and palace will now pick up points with their new signings bedding in and Sam getting to grips with them.

Swansea on a roll but that could come to a halt - they retain the fragility they have had all season

hopefully boro will fail to score enough to get to 35 points

but we are dreadful at the moment and it's a big struggle to see where 19points will come from. 18th place could well be 40 points this season!

This is why I am worried that we'll go down.

We will lose to united at home and then we travel to Swansea the following weekend who are in a great run of form right now. But that's also a game that most fans think we could/should get something from! With Ranieri in charge i don't think we'll be picking up any points against teams like that.

I hope that a defeat to united brings an end to his reign purely to give us a chance of survival. If we leave it much longer we'll be needing miracles yet again especially if Swansea were to beat us.

These predictions are pretty pointless.

Sunderland just drew with Spurs, Hull at Man United - unpredictable

We all know as we get nearer the end of the season strange things happen - Sunderland have pulled off victories against the big boys near the end to stay up for the last few years

You're right, these results do happen... But only when the lesser team are ready to scrap for it and put everything on the line. We are currently showing no fight whatsoever- if you're playing the way we are, you get steamrollered by the big clubs. We need a complete change in attitude, or we're gonners I'm afraid.

5/1 odds on us going down are seriously generous- bookies obviously haven't quite cottoned onto how bad we currently are. Worth an insurance bet to pay for next year's season ticket if the worst does happen.

I feel 40 won't be needed this season... but I can only see us picking up another 15 points from that realistically meaning it is going to be close, far too close for my liking... we leak a lot of goals as well and GD could be the deciding factor here

Postings on here saying one or two teams are playing worse than us eg Sunderland.

They are not.

We are currently the worse team in the league masked by previously having some pts already on the board.

At this point it's difficult to see how this can be done.

5/1 is a massive price.

Really a sad state of affairs at present, the way we are playing, I could see us lose all of them.

A bit dramatic I know, but really can't see where we will pick up points, hull, but didn't we think that at their place.

The concerning bit is, those supposed winnable games, the teams are struggling but are organised and fighting, where we are rolling over and disjointed, going to need a great escape again I feel, but have the players got it in them

Posted

we need to find something from somewhere, a player like Mahrez or someone getting a bit of form or the team pull together and the spirit and determination lifts us to mid table. the players need to fight and not just give up or looking to already move on if the worst does happen
