Perfect loan spell thus far. Consistent game time to get some of that bulk off him. a good pre season and he will be an asset next season.

I think thats three games played and three games undefeated with Matty James in the side. He has had a horrific injury so needs a run of games but I think he is more than useful as a player. I hope he gets back to his best because at just 25, he still has plenty to offer.

Thankfully still ours so we'll have him in the Championship next season, along with King.

He's our most consistent midfielder, you could pair him with anyone and he'd never let you down.

 

Doesnt have really any traits bar that, but to be honest, his sort of character is what we need right now. A fully fit James and Ndidi midfield sounds good.

He's just one of them that goes under the radar, but when you check the stats he's outdoing most of the others.

Tidy midfielder in every sense of the word. He doesn't do anything particularly spectacular because he's solid defensively and is an intelligent passer.

Having missed out last season he may feel he has a point to prove and so may be more motivated than some. Decent player.

Some people forget that before his untimely injury, Danny couldn't get in the side. Matty was such a good reader of the game and complimented Cambiasso. Back to his best he would be a first choice for me.  It would be a huge mistake to let him go without a preseason with us. Back to fitness, though a big ask, he may be able to help this season?

After such a horrific injury and such a long time on the sidelines, not unsurprising.

 

Nevertheless, I wish him very well and hope he can play as many minutes as possible for Barnsley and even chip in with the odd goal/assist here and there - after all, he could be crucial for us next season, regardless of the league we'll find ourselves in.

God yes. We'd be fine with a 2 man midfield of James and Ndidi!!!
