You saw the difference in class and ability between the two sides. Leicester have made it even harder for themselves with this result. Fans were expecting to lose 4-0 and now they're almost dreaming of getting to the quarter-finals and that's how much this result means to them. Sevilla played the second half in second gear and Leicester still have to face one of the best teams in La Liga.

What absolute bollocks. Yes, it's still a difficult ask, but that last twenty minutes, a goal and having a very good side hanging on for a while can only be good for squad confidence

He's just pissed off because he was on the radio spouting about how they would hammer us . If we beat them it totally undermines his time in Spain. Anyway if we played like last year we would have beat them tonight

I'm actually quite proud of that performance.

Bollox to this 'they ain't trying' cobblers...they WERE trying tonight and you could see little glimpses of some confidence returning.

Personally, I disagree wholeheartedly with 'The Doctor' (and others)....I think the problem is actually Ranieri. Tactically, this season he's been not good. I reckon the players actually think he's a chump.

What was interesting tonight, and I don't know whether anyone else saw it on TV...when we scored our goal, Ranieri made a fist pump on the touchline and literally none of our subs jumped up from the bench to celebrate with him or with any of our players. Andy King's face told it all..he looked at Claudio as if to say 'wtf!' See if you can play this back. Unless I'm wrong, they all stay sat there. No celebration.

The result gives us a little hope. Vardy has shown again that when he gets good quality ball into him, he can score and Ndidi again really looks a prospect.

The recruitment team, however, need shooting for not replacing either Huth or Morgan with a younger model and who, the fook, signed Musa?

As horrible a reality as that is, I think you've nailed it there.

I'm beginning to agree with them too, there just doesn't seem to be any other viable reason for the paucity of performance this season.

A lot of the second half we played well.

First half, wow.

A better team would have put away all the chances they had.

We had one good effort and it was a goal. As much as Vardy irritates me, he is clinical.

A  better team  they are in the top 4 in Europe

If this was Leicester 2015/2016 1:0 would be a superb bet...

I know. We will leak at least one with the two liabilities called Morgan and Huth. We just have to win 3-1 then. Or 4-2. Largely possible.

2 things seemed to make a difference.  Firstly,  our attitude seemed more positive 2nd half. Secondly,  our shape and structure improved when Gray came on. It wasn't our best, but better. The result means progress is achievable,  many seemed to think this would be beyond us before a ball had been kicked. Difficult still, but not beyond our capabilities,  if we have the right head on.

Dross for 70 minutes but after that it shows with a bit of ambition and confidence that this Sevilla defence can be got at, not getting greedy but could have been even better in the last 10 minutes or so had our final ball been better.

Or do them 2-1 somehow and hold on for pens. I reckon we'd all take that now.

What a bonus to be in with a shout.

What a strange game. Fantastic result and at least we are still in the tie for the home leg.

However, at times we were poor at the back again. Could have quite easily been 5 down as others have pointed out but suppose they only have themself to blame for not finishing us off.

As soon as we scored I saw an instant change in body language. A cloud appeared to have been lifted off the likes of Vardy and Drinkwater. It's such a cliche but maybe that goal can turn out season.

No away tie in Europe is easy, so the fact we have came away a goal down, with an away goal despite playing badly for 70 minutes, is fantastic.

This sent to me by a friend after game  - think somes it up  IMO

Leceister were LUCKY to only lose 2-1 should’ve been 3-1, Schmeichel saved a penalty in the first half.

That idiot Morgan jumped in (slide tackle, studs up in the box, took the player out) was DEF a penalty no question of it!

The first goal the sole blame was on Huth, he knew there was a player to his left, but when the ball came into the box he got caught ball watching AND misjudged the header.

Don’t get me wrong Sevilla’s first goal was a treat the guy deserved it but still poor Leceister defending YET AGAIN

Yeah so as it stands they are locked at 2-all. A 1-0 win would be great, worse case scenario a nil all draw as I think if it remains a draw after extra time, it comes down to who has scored the most away goals.

Real, Barca, Juve, PSG and Bayern are all better. Atletico certainly aren't far off them, if not better (excusing the 4pt difference mid season). I'd say Chelsea are probably better too this season. They're good, but not top 4 in Europe.

I don't know how we got that result but I don't really care.

Right now I know I haven't spunked away £40 to watch a dead rubber and three weeks is a long time in football and hopefully we can regain some of our form and swagger from last season.

Great result! Playing a team of that quality when we are in shocking form and getting a 2-1 is as good as you can ask for. Honestly even a Barcelona / Madrid / Juve would not be upset at a first leg result like that against such a consistent European specialist. Still in the tie and now we are at home. A 1-0 would do it!

We will likely go out in the next game, but we have a chance! That's good enough for me. I can accept any result as a fan as long as we fight. Even if we go down, if we go down fighting I can take it. I just hate seeing passengers and no shows. That's the difference with this year. Last year even when we got tonked 5-2 by Arsenal we still kept going and fought.

Phil Neville is mad. It's harder for us, because we didn't lose 4-0?

Whereas if we did lose 4-0 the home leg would be a walk in the park, Vardy volleying in 30 yard shots for fun?

Or we'd give them six easy goals straight away, spending the rest of the match playing chess in the centre circle, the team cheering "N'didi! N'didi! Check-mate! Check-mate! Castle to D4! Castle to D4!"

I wonder about the criteria for pundits? Can he talk without dribbling? CHECK. Can he form a coherent sentence? CHECK. Did he ever play football? CHECK. Does he make sense? IRRELEVANT.

That said. I have just say here and written a forum post about his ramblings. Check-mate, the BBC. Check-mate.

Well it sums something up. Your friend is a bit thick.
