Sevilla 2-1 Leicester Post Match

Recommended Posts

Poor performance but great result. Got to pass it better and keep possession. We keep making things hard for ourselves. Got to close more as well. We can't afford to stand 3-4 yards off someone and let them cross. Still will take that.  Really need to make some noise at the KP!

Thought the same as others about Ranieri celebrating and the bench being strangely subdued. King even making some comment behind his hand. Doesn't look good, supporting rumours he's lost the dressing room. Last season they would have been jumping off the bench celebrating. Still in it at 2-1 though, can't wait for the home leg now.

Real, Barca, Juve, PSG and Bayern are all better. Atletico certainly aren't far off them, if not better (excusing the 4pt difference mid season). I'd say Chelsea are probably better too this season. They're good, but not top 4 in Europe.

Hard to disagree but, wherever Sevilla rank in Europe, they are a very, very good team.

This sent to me by a friend after game  - think somes it up  IMO

Leceister were LUCKY to only lose 2-1 should’ve been 3-1, Schmeichel saved a penalty in the first half.

That idiot Morgan jumped in (slide tackle, studs up in the box, took the player out) was DEF a penalty no question of it!

The first goal the sole blame was on Huth, he knew there was a player to his left, but when the ball came into the box he got caught ball watching AND misjudged the header.

Don’t get me wrong Sevilla’s first goal was a treat the guy deserved it but still poor Leceister defending YET AGAIN

Yeah so as it stands they are locked at 2-all. A 1-0 win would be great, worse case scenario a nil all draw as I think if it remains a draw after extra time, it comes down to who has scored the most away goals.

Just because they had a penalty doesn't mean it should have been 3-1, and away goals only come into consideration if it's level on aggregate. So your friend doesn't really have a clue.

You saw the difference in class and ability between the two sides. Leicester have made it even harder for themselves with this result. Fans were expecting to lose 4-0 and now they're almost dreaming of getting to the quarter-finals and that's how much this result means to them. Sevilla played the second half in second gear and Leicester still have to face one of the best teams in La Liga.

What would Phil neville know about class?

He played for man Utd.

Really takes the gloss off the result that does. I don''t have it recorded so will have to watch the highlights on ITV. Lots of people have mentioned the bench and that really does not bode well.

They need to ****ing sort themselves out then. They should be jumping up and down when we score regardless of how the dressing room mood is. I noticed them sitting there looking like they were talking behind claudios back. Total lack of respect.

I try not to read to much into slow motion reactions of any teams bench/subs but Kingy's was a bit strange at that moment in time to not even react to the goal but to just to look at Ranieri and make a comment whilst covering his mouth with his hand.

Sevilla can and have played much better than that this season but can go missing when playing away....we couldn't, could we?

Awful first half absolutely woeful.

Second half we improved when we all closed down as a team! It makes us so much harder to breakdown that way.

Hoping that the atmosphere in the return leg is going to be better than anything we've ever witnessed so far at the KP.

Attack them like we did at the end of that second half and we stand a chance of possibly achieving something.

There's a 40 page caption competition thread, right there.

Fabulous to still be in it. On the balance of play I'd call that a smash and grab!

Super result, 1-0 last minute penalty in second leg please ;)

We actually have a chance to make the Quarters excellente. First half we were bloody terrible, scared to have the ball, scared to attack, no chances, 0 corners but to be fair we rode our luck to get to 60 minutes only 1-0 down, then they scored another but we didn't down tools which was good.

After we scored our only big chance of the game the players looked so much more confident. Drinkwater started playing forward passes and made his run, and got the assist. First half he just held it up and passed it backwards every time. Ndidi also struggled first half to impose himself.

Mahrez showed glimpses of class, Albrighton tried he's not good enough against that level of opposition bless him.

Musa needs to be sold in summer cut the losses and get 10 million back for him... Really wish Gray had started but at least Claudio bought him on early in the second period.

It feels like a smash and grab draw even though it's a loss :)

And why can't we get to the QF. Don't be so negative. BLUE ARMY
