If Shakey gets the permanent job for next season, which players do you think he might sell?

Looks like Musa isn't one of his favourites. Does the same apply to Mendy? What about Slimani? Probably keep him if that means that Mahrez stays for another year. Kaputska? Benalouane would definitely go.

In terms of bringing players in, maybe go for those with premier league experience than from European leagues?

Do you think he would try and bring back Walsh as his assistant?

The dream team - the above is taken from May 2018 as the Foxes secure their second title in three years. The key to this success was signing Schlupp (also pictured above) for £25m in the summer of 2017. Instead of Bocelli, it was Noddy Holder and Slade!

How bad are things when we are worried a New manager won't go down well with the players. I thought they hadn't downed tools.

Why would you seek to get a manager who didn't get on with the players?

No need to appoint him permanently until the end of the season.

Lets judge him in June.

So far he's passed his test with flying colours but I'd like to judge him over the longer term, too many times a caretaker does really well only to turn to shite as soon as he's been appointed.

It's an interesting question. I think the owners will happily put Shakespeare in charge till the end of the season, but may not give it to him full time. One reason for that is that someone has to think about what our identity will be going forwards. We've been the plucky underdog team with our famous counter attack for a while now, but long-term we will need other tactics to go with the primary one.

Pearson's identity was one of a very British spine and team that are physical and can get about the pitch. To that he then added just a pinch of flair with Knockaert and then Mahrez and you'd have to say that his plan paid off big time. Claudio utliised that identity to it's fullest potential but I couldn't quite see where he was going next. Will we focus on exciting young players to play more of a possession based approach, or will we continue to use our excellent scouting team to find high-value players that can fit into our 4-4-2? Our academy is pretty bad in terms of end product although Chilwell will have a great career I'm sure. I think the biggest challenge for the next manager is how to unlock long-term progression for the club. Consistent top 10 finishes with good runs in the cup should be a realistic aim to achieve.

I think Mendy and Musa will go as neither has done enough. It might seem harsh on Mendy, but I think Ndidi has shown him right up and even Amartey I would say has shown more. I have a feeling Kapustka will also go, although this I feel will be frustrating for the fans as I think he will go on to be a really great player. I can see both Slimani and Mahrez going (for different reasons) but hope they don't. Slimani has had recurring inuries all season, but given it's his first season and we've not been great, he has had a decent return.

Of course all this assumes we stay up! I'm feeling a LOT more confident after today, especially with Sunderland to play at home, but don't want to take anything for granted.

this.  I am confident that craig can sort us out.... but in the summer the owners will  need to think where they want to go -   IMO I would support shakey ( I think he could put right some of the sports science and psychology stuff) - but we don't know how sophisticated he can be tactically.  yet with this squad of players there seems  to be just one viable way... and he does understand that.

Oh man the shite they're spouting on BT right now is painful. They haven't a clue. Apparently we shouldn't appoint CS because he's unproven and let CR down as part of his back room staff. The players should apparently be ashamed of themselves for their performances this week!! All are in agreement with this.

I'd happily take Shakespeare as Leicester manager for the next few years if we play football like we have done since he was appointed caretaker. It's the Leicester way, it's our trademark and it is the most exciting football to watch in the country. If we played like that every game, yes we would take a couple of pastings like we did against Arsenal last season, but all in all I reckon we'd be comfortably mid table and pushing for a European place if it was over the course of a full season.

You and I are scumbags for chanting for Shakespeare too! This is infuriating. Such idiots.

Haha it's mental how wrong so much of the media are about us.

He comes across as very well-spoken and both very straightforward but sensible and dynamic his approach -  a bundle of certain aspects required in management that can give these sort of coaches/managers success.

Would be pleased for him as he's deserved it in the last couple of games and has made the club to be continously efficient and settled throughout the good and bad periods during his long spell here.

But starting to think the owners want someone more well-known to increase the profile of the club and thus try and boost their brand image further.

Is this the same media by any chance that critisise owners for looking abroad for managers rather then going for young upcoming british managers?

Absolutely - see Mike Phelan of Hull.

Yes, problem is though football is driven by sky and money and consequently they want a return for the maga bucks being pumped in, they need big name managers and players to keep the circus going

100% record so far He cant do any better than that. If he gets us past Seville that will do for me. But I also agree there's no need to rush into any decision before the Summer.

As for Shaky the Players and the Media, Their doing it the right way by performing on the pitch the quickest way to shut them tools up is to keep on winning.

No brainer to the end of the season and then review and take it from there. I have followed this club for 40 years and put simply we work best under a certain type of manager. Shakey fits that bill. It is the same at many clubs, look at Man Utd who have turned a corner under Mourinho who I would say is not unlike Fergie. If Shakey does well to the end of the season then he should get the gig full time, but other wise it should be someone of a similar sort of stamp.

Glad we are back on the up anyway, bring on Sevilla !

Agree with you James. I think it is pretty much nailed on now that he gets the job at least till the end of the season. The odds have reached three to one ON which is pretty much the point where the bookies think it is virtually certain. Note he was only marginally shorter odds than Hodgson at 3pm today. I think it is he right move for the club, provides the stability needed at this time to crack on and finish the season well.

The only thing that concerns me is that when caretaker manager's usually get job on a permanent basis it all tends to unravel quickly afterwards.

Obviously if he does get the job I hope that doesn't happen here.
