Ric Flair Posted 3 May 2017 Posted 3 May 2017 Him changing agents is alarming, but to be fair his stock is as high as it's ever going to be with us and he'd be foolish not to consider all options. The man is a consummate professional who a lot of his team mates have described as being hugely driven and determined to succeed and can we really begrudge him a move to Man Utd? If Liverpool or Arsenal want him then I hope we tell him and them to bollocks but Utd are his boyhood club, even if they are now the pits.
justfoxes Posted 3 May 2017 Posted 3 May 2017 Do you honestly think Kasper has been lining up a move away from the KP, going behind the owners backs even tho we've openly said he's not for Sale ?? I think this is just gutter press as he has just dumped his representatives in favour of this new group so the papers have jumped on a story that isn't there !! I always thought this guy was honest and reliable and always so happy here, and can you honestly see his father allowing him to do such a deceitful and disrespectful thing to the owners.

Is it disrespectful to ask if a move is possible? what follows is then open to plenty of conjecture
lgfualol Posted 3 May 2017 Posted 3 May 2017 I'm just going to presume he is gone. If we keep him against his wishes his performances might drop and it might affect the team - although selling might also affect the team.

He's changed agent, that should set the alarm bells ringing. He's hardly going to be calling around clubs himself, but you can guarantee the agent will be.

Stevosevic Posted 3 May 2017 Posted 3 May 2017 Couldn't begrudge him a move to one of the big boys but Everton?
Gerard Posted 3 May 2017 Posted 3 May 2017 Everton can be laughed at and then told to Foxtrot Oscar, cheeky twats. If a proper big club come in for him I wouldn't be totally averse to selling him provided they paid through the nose and we got someone like Pickford in as a replacement. It's difficult as we don't want to sell our best players but it's hard to refuse them career defining moves to clubs like the Manchester clubs.
VLC86 Posted 3 May 2017 Posted 3 May 2017 I might be shot down for this but is Pickford really the answer if he leaves? Shakey has said we want to be playing champions league football again and a player, no matter how promising he is, who has really only played one season being first choice would be a big ask.
Ted Maul Posted 3 May 2017 Posted 3 May 2017 If he does leave, we should be talking ‘record fee paid for a goalkeeper’ types of figures. The owners aren’t daft- last summer it looked as though we might be a soft touch when Kante was allowed to leave, but we showed we can play hardball when required with Mahrez. We won’t be selling our best players for anything short of ridiculous money now we don’t have release clauses to worry about.
Nick Posted 3 May 2017 Posted 3 May 2017 £50 million Or a straight swap for Joe Hart with Man City paying all Hart's wages at 100K a week for 3 years circa £11 million.
davieG Posted 3 May 2017 Posted 3 May 2017 Everton are best fit and best placed to sign £100,000 per week Kasper Schmeichel Leicester City are fighting a battle to keep hold of Kasper Schmeichel this summer, according to The Mirror. Despite handing the Premier League title winner a £100,000 per week contract, Schmeichel is reportedly tempted to move on, feeling that at 30-years-old, the time is right. Everton are listed in the report as one five top teams interested in his signature, along with Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal. Leicester City's Kasper Schmeichel Schmeichel has already played for Manchester City earlier in his career, before dropping down the divisions and later finding his way back to the top flight. City could be in the market for a goalkeeper with question marks over Joe Hart and Claudio Bravo, but Liverpool and Arsenal do not need another right now. Manchester United would only need Schmeichel if David de Gea moves on, a situation which is unclear. Everton do need a goalkeeper, with Joel Robles failing to convince since stepping in for the injured Maarten Stelekenburg. Unconvincing... Everton's Joel Robles Manchester City will be a threat to Everton's aims, yet Everton are arguably better placed. They are long term admirers of Schmeichel, and only shelved interest last summer after an agreement to do so after recruitment Steve Walsh left Leicester for Everton, with it decided the Toffees would not pursue Foxes players for a 'specified period' from last June, The Guardian reported. Walsh did not sign Schmeichel for Leicester, yet is well aware of his talent, watching on thrilled as the Dane delivered a league title for the club last season. Manchester City will be Everton's biggest threat for Schmeichel's signature, but Walsh can be the deciding factor. He is helping Everton to build a side capable of challenging for top honours, and can try to help convince Schmeichel he would be joining the 'next Leicester City'. The Toffees have made impressive strides under Ronald Koeman this season. Adding experienced winners like Schmeichel can help them get to the next level.

Koke Posted 3 May 2017 Posted 3 May 2017 I accept losing Kasper to either of the two Manchester clubs, but fecking Everton?
lgfualol Posted 3 May 2017 Posted 3 May 2017 Everton would be a right kick in the shitter. Steve Walsh could probably persuade him as well the traitor.
kingcarr21 Posted 3 May 2017 Posted 3 May 2017 Why would he choose Everton? No more than a sideways step. He will only move for regular Champions League football
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 3 May 2017 Posted 3 May 2017 Schmeichel doesn't seem the type of person to want to engineer a move away from the club. I think if he were to go in the summer, he'd want to leave on good terms as opposed to actively trying to get a transfer. However, if it is true that Kasper wants to go, we shouldn't stand in his way. I'm really not keen on clubs trying to keep players against their will, like Schlupp. It just leaves a bad feeling in regards to commitment for me. Hopefully, Schmeichel wants to stay, but if he wants to go to one of the top 7 clubs, let it be and leave on good terms with the club and owners.

Everton are easy to bat away, what can they offer him that we can't? Our standing in the game is similar. The really big clubs are a lot harder to refuse, it would be like Fleetwood refusing to sell us their star player. If one of the Manchester clubs want him they they should be made to pay through the nose, £30m at the very minimum.
Stevosevic Posted 3 May 2017 Posted 3 May 2017 Surely Shakey can tell Walsh to p**s off approaching for our players
