foxfanazer Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 A few months ago I was resigned to us getting relegated and the club having to rebuild again as a championship club. Things were looking really bleak! Massive praise must go to the owners for making a brave and globally unpopular decision! Whether you agree with the way we did it or how the players reacted to Shakespeare ultimately it has saved us. Well done Top and Vichai and thank you
Gav_LCFC14 Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 Honestly we are so lucky when it comes to our Owners, Top and Vichai have been great all round. Football aside, It was an amazing gesture, when they donated £2million to Leicester City Hospitals.
FoxyPalace.com Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 These guys have leicester best interests at heart I truly believe this. now bring in those Belgium ?? gems asap
Webbo Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 It was the right decision. I felt bad about it at the time, I still do but it had to be done.
Jonezy Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 The rest of the world can F off.... That was completely the right decision and all us supporters knew it was our only hope of getting out of trouble. It worked even better than we could have hoped for.
Ozwin Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 They always ask us to trust them and in fairness have never let us down. It's a shame we can't show our appreciation more somehow.

My next-door neighbour is convinced that Ranieri would have kept us up, despite my telling him that we were almost certainly doomed. It amazes me when someone whose knowledge of City comes solely from highlights on MoTD argues with someone (me) who watches virtually every match, live. The way we have turned the season round has been brilliant, and if we could carry on like this in 2017-18, we might just be pushing for a European spot this time next year.
rn9013 Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 Claudio Ranieri will always be a legend and will be given a heroes welcome anytime he visits but thank god the owners made the decision they did. We'd have been with Sunderland and Boro if we hadn't of made the change. Ill be honest, the night it happened I felt it was the right decision but at the same time I felt massively uncomfortable. I guess knowing what he had helped us achieve and the memories that had been created meant it was difficult to take. But deep down I knew it was right. Unfortunately I fear we will lose some big names in the summer, I'm thinking Kasper and Riyad. It's a shame because if we keep them (particularly Kasper) I would be hopeful of a europa league push.
HybridFox Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 Lot of negative press when it comes to foreign owners. It doesn't always go well. But these guys have led by example. Genuinely the best in the league. Always had the club's best interests at heart, rewarded the fans and we are where we are due to them. This is just the beginning too...

Do you live next to Claudio then?
lifted*fox Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 Clearly the right decision and anyone who thought it wasn't didn't know what they were ****ing on about tbh. Well done owners <3.

I'm out of likes today (spent them all in an uneventful match thread ) but remind me tomorrow and I'll give ya one!
Matt Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 It needed to be done and was done. I was calling for it a few weeks earlier than it actually happened but they gave him abit of time and things were not going to change, we were only going one way, it's a shame but it needed to happen, we'd be in the Championship now if he was given any longer. We really shouldn't be able to finish 8th, we have no right given where we were and how bad we were, I know Sunderland are bottom have been almost all season but I still say we were arguably the worst team after Palace - Who have also turned it around, but again as i've said in the past I guess that says alot about the quality of the league...poor, barr Chelsea this league has been no stronger than last season, hopefully that's the case next season and i've very confident my target of top 6 can be met...or beyond! In hindsight maybe the decision should have been made earlier, we could have made a disastorous (Barr Ndidi) January transfer window better, not that it's really been needed, Shakey's worked with what he's got and well, but they gave Ranieri the time he deserved but whatever the media and other clubs were preaching Ranieri had no 'right' whatsoever to take us down. Ranieri is still a legend, he's still talked about in good ways and he always will be, we stil thank him massively but that was slowly being ruined the longer he stayed, the fact he make us worse when we were at our strongest and had the biggest pulling power in our history and that he still doesn't seem to take any responsibility in interviews e.t.c says alot about the fact he needed to go.

Another decision that sticks out in my mind is when we were on an awful run in the Championship under Pearson and they stuck with him and it payed off. Top class owners, pardon the pun.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 It wasn't working under Ranieri and they've made the right decision with Shakespeare. It's kept us up.

smr Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 problem was imo that it was the nicest man in football, and the man who helped us win the premier league. so sacking him was so sad. if it had been steve mclaren and he'd won us the league i dont think i'd feel half as sad about it. Claudio is just a class act, and not only that but he has got that aura about him where he's almost like your adopted grandad. that's what really tore into people about it... but i was behind the owners the whole way since february the 23rd when they decided on it, had to be done and it was the right thing to do.

Well done Top and Vichai and thank you Best decision they made sacking CR amazing what he did always remember him for that but having said that I did say on this forum back mid November to have CR sacked and was slated for it if we had of sacked him then we would easily be top six but all in all what a remarkable comeback and the owners deserve all the credit for every bit of achievement we have had since they took over from Mandaric
Legend_in_blue Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 We've pretty much given all of those doubters the middle finger and it feels great. Snakes indeed...
stix Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 It's quite clear to me that the media and everybody else who claimed that the owners made a disgusting decision in sacking Claudio hadn't watched Leicester City as much as the fans did. If they had have done then they would understand the reasoning behind it. Maybe be there was a falling out between some of the players and the manager, but that goes on all the time in everyday working life too. I would definitely be less enthusiastic about working for a manager if I disagreed with their working methods. If it doesn't work it doesn't work. Seems to to me that the players understood their own limitations better than Claudio did. Will forever be a legend, but everything ends at some point.
Koke Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 Made me laugh when Piers Morgan suggested we should hound out our owners. Absolute cretin. The public backlash the club got was staggering. The club was kicked from pillar to post and there was a full blown character assassinations on our players. I'm not gonna be magnanimous about this - they can **** off.
StriderHiryu Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 The owners record of making big decisions count is fairly incredible. I suppose it's no real wonder they own a company worth billions because they clearly know what they are doing. Since they've been here: - Got rid of Sousa / Sven and brought back Pearson. We get promoted for the first time in 10 years and remove the "entitled" culture that players like Beckford and Mills brought with them. - Got rid of Pearson and replaced him with Ranieri. We win the league. - Got rid of Ranieri and replaced him with Shakespeare. We survive comfotably and make it to the UCL top 8. What I think is great is that they learn from their mistakes and show continued commitment to the club. Hope they are here for a long time and excited as to what comes next. They've earned my trust.
