When the odds go that short its pretty much a done deal then

Yep, just like when Vardy was 1/10 to sign for Arsenal last season.

We won the title with the same team we have now except with Kante instead of Ndidi. Since then we brought Islam Slimani, one of the top scorers in Europe for a club record fee, who has proved he can score in the Premier League, even if he hasn't been a complete hit. Compared to our Centre Back situation (prior to signing Maguire), it's not essential to buy a player like this, it feels more like a nice to have.

Don't get me wrong I think it's a great signing and a very exciting one at that, I'm just saying I'd personally prioritise another Centre Back and a more creative number 10 type ahead of Ihenacho. It's just an opinion.

And of course, there is a reason why I am sat at home on a Football Forum and not the manager of the almighty Leicester City Football Club :). I'm just a fan having my say!

You may be right or wrong but you've as much right to your view as anyone else and there have been plenty of football people at "almighty Leicester City" who've got it both very wrong as well as right over the years so I wouldn't worry about being "just a fan". .

Right now it's the Shakespeare era and for all we know he could be as keen to sign another centre-back and number 10 as you.

I'm just glad he seems to be as on the ball as he suggested and is concluding what he can, and doing okay so far from what I can see.

We've actually got five centre-backs if you include Amartey so perhaps he sees other positions as a greater priority - the number 10 you mention, a winger (or two) and competition at right back, for instance.

You're not a team player.

Imagine Rudders' cum face.....

lol This thread has taken a turn for the worst.

Noticed two or three sources saying he's very keen on the move to be fair, excluding that John guy, to be fair he gave a reasonable explanation as to why Ibbo wasn't joining, apologised unreservedly when he did. lol

That was amusing the other day. He then had a spat with a few toffees who claimed Everton were never interested in Iborra

tbf to him, he apologised and said we were better fans than forest!

Only 15 pages to go I suspect before confirmation. If we can pull this off it will be a real statement of intent from Shakey and the Owners.

If Deeney is also coming I suspect that Musa definitely and either Slim or Ulloa will go.

i hope this happens.

I also hope this happens but I suggest that we don't get too over confident until the deal is signed.

I will also suggest that this thread will be well over the 100 pages before it is officially confirmed.

You could well be spot on. You can't always line up signings in the order you want them as there are so many different things that go into making a transfer happen. Often it can be like a buying a house in that there are many people in the chain and it can fall apart at any time. Shakespeare did mention that the club had discussed at length the signings they wanted to make and that he gave a very forthright opinion on the matter. In his recent interview he also said he was delighted that the club aggresively pursued Maguire for him, so there's defintely room for optimism.

One thing I will say that is truly brilliant about our club and our current owners is that they learn from their mistakes. It might be a bit early to judge but already this window feels better than any we've had in recent memory and we've only signed two players. I'm really starting to feel positive about 2017/2018!

Him and Vardy, with Slimani and Okazaki around too would give us one of the best sets of strikers around

Yay...our non-scoring, non-assisting striker

"Set of strikers". I.e. The full range of options. Okazaki was vital in us winning the premier league. He's not terrible FYI!
