We've already forfeited our place among the elite but now it is whether we can be a regular top 7/8 outfit or a stagnating Stoke or even Sunderland. The first bad bad step towards the latter type of club is appointing an outdated, ambitionless manager, which I fear we have just done. Yeah he's not interested in winning.
justfoxes Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Shakey today Gylfi tomorrow !! Looks like the ball has started to roll with reports of Musa going on loan to Fenerbache let's now hope we get some decent incoming now !!

We all need to get behind the man that saved us from relegation and got us to the quarter finals of the CL. IMO excellent choice. Go on Shakey make us proud. Because it's the same people who are permanently miserable.

jock2612 Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Good luck Shakey !!! The transfer activity is vital this summer and am sure it will help with a permanent coach. It is obvious, but he needs a solid start. I think at this stage we just have to trust the owners judgement. For Shakey this is a huge opportunity to prove he is a manager in his own right. Am sure if he hadn't got the job he would have re-joined Nigel especially if he gets the Middlesborough job so glad this is done!!

Good ol Kitch, always good for an old fashioned troll...yer a gud un... If you got sunburnt, youd blame the rain, or lack of it..
SCP1906 Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Safe choice. New manager, even if it's good is always more risky. Knows players, onwers, ambition's... I believe he's good enough to keep Leicester City in Premier league. He knows his team and knows how to push his players harder. But I think he's not the manager Leicester City needs if it wants to be at top 10 in the end of the season. Hope he surprises me. But he needs more/better players.
Izzy Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Great to see us adopting the old Liverpool 'bootroom' approach. And great to see us giving an English manager a chance in the PL. What an opportunity for Shakey to make a name for himself. I reckon he'll give it 100% and work his nuts off to get the best out of the players. I'm delighted with the appointment and delighted for him personally. Today is a good day

They sacked Nigel first time round to get a big name manager in Sven to match their ambition. Now they could have got a big name manager but have rather promoted Nigel's old sidekick from within. I like that, Hope it works out for all parties, including us the loyal fans. I really hope Shakey all the best hope he takes us back to inform winning ways and a Top 4 place !!

Wtf are you on about?

foxfanazer Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Glad it's sorted! Think he just about deserves it in fairness to him. Now let's get some decent players in!!

TheUltimateWinner Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Pleased with this. Bringing on Chilwell and switching to 3 at the back against Athletico was one of the bravest and smartest tactical decisions I've seen during a game, shame it didn't get us the win, but it was still a great move for a manager who was only the first games of his career. Although we stagnated at the end of the season, I trust him to be the man to get the best out of our current players and also think he understands what type of players we want in over summer.
Beliall Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 uninspiring. he did a great job in getting a few results we needed but he isn't the man to take us forward. hope to be proved wrong of course
oxtonfox Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Appointing Shakey is reward to him for being an honest, hard-working, trusted and popular man. He has shown his loyalty to the club especially when Nigel got the push and then he was prepared to work under Ranieri and not with all the input he had under Nigel before. This was part of the reason for our success in 2015/16. He has dug us out of possible relegation and he deserves to have a go with a decent contract. Hopefully we are due a number of good signings that will integrate well and improve the team. However, last sentence says "hope" that can tell a flattering tale.
ajthefox Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Not convinced he will be the bloke to really push us on but I think he deserved a chance and I think it would've been mad not to so overall I'm happy and am hoping for good things from him. Just hope we have a good summer and start the season well.
smudger63 Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Pleased for Shakespeare, who seems from the outside seems to be a decent and honest bloke. Time will tell whether he was the right choice or not, i certainly hope so, though i do have my concerns. Hopefully he will still be our manager in 3 years time, because it will mean he has been a success, which ultimately is what we all want.
crisp packet Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Hopefully the club deals him a good hand and sign some more much needed quality! Good luck shakey. Am happy.
biggs Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 A very good appointment in my books....Not so sure Kitch on the word ambitionless??? and why wouldn't he have any ambition. He appears quite enthusiastic and would want nothing more than to prove himself in the league.
Callabinho Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Ambition isn't the problem...it's experience....not often does a former number two step up to be a success...I hope he is, but I can't see it at all...and if you genuinely think he will be able to land Gilfry..think again, we will struggle to acquire most of our big targets now.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Pleased and think he deserves the opportunity to continue the building on top the solid foundations!
