Never going to be a top player. He doesn't have enough football intelligence to be one. If someone offers a decent amount sell sell sell. Will be ripping up the championship in a few seasons which unfortunately is his level.

Reminds me of Erik Lamela.

People think he's got a very good future at the top level, but fails with inconsistencies.

Besides why would he want to join that bunch of serial losers?

Garbage goals / assists return. In. The. Bin.

Where is the proof for this?

This makes me laugh. With no real proof Gray gets slated.

But criticize Mahrez who has got a problem and you get jumped on.

What do you actually know about his attitude that gives you the right to post this stuff as statement of fact?

It's so strange how people assume certain players have certain attitudes.

Especially 20 year old boys.  I can safely say at that age I was probably a bit of a nobber.  Had I have had £££s in the bank and social media I'd have been unbearable.  To me he seems a decent young man who maybe made a few mistakes but cannot see much evidence of a genuine bad attitude.  As you say, people hold some weird beliefs.  X

He has all the physical skills, this coming year will show if he can progress with the mental side.

I hate to give up on him too early

There are not that many players in the Premier League aged 21 or younger with stats better than his.  Of course there are one or two but quoting those doesn't invalidate the argument that whatever anyone thinks he cannot be deemed "sh1t".  He may never make it of course but to write him off just now is ridiculous.  I hope he stays as I really want to see if/how he progresses next season.  X

i'm a big fan of Gray as I think he has all the talent and attributes to become a player good enough to play for a top six side and an England regular. I'm frustrated that he hasn't really kicked on much since he got here but the people who say he is still only 21 make some very good points.

We have players in the development squad of a similar age who we haven't written off and Gray is miles ahead of them in development.

Sterling is a prime example that under the right leadership you can be good. He's still brain dead at times but hes been taught to get into the right positions and to time his runs better. I could definitely see Gray improving under a good manager.

The thing is Gray should have improved under Puel and he hasn't. Puel has given him exactly what he craved, a regular starting spot in a formation that to start with should have reaped rewards. There were some flashes of brilliance and it did feel like he would kick on. He's not much further along with his development now though and you've got to question what will it take for him to make it?

Yep agreed. I'd like to see the entire squad with a pre season under Puel with better players passing the ball out from the back. Sometimes I think Gray gets the ball so rarely into feet that when he does he feels like he has to run and shoot.

I'd also argue that Diabate is a better option than Gray at the minute but its not unlikely that they'll be our first choice wingers in August, especially if Puel likes the look of Albrighton at right back.

Imagine people giving up on you at the age of 21?

It seems preposterous really you're still so young and naive at that age. And obviously you're indestructible and know everything.

Well I wouldn't mind but he doesn't seem to be progressing and therefore probably he's not listening to what he's being told or coached. He still spends the majority of his time trying to score from 40 yards out. He's still wasteful and his overall input in terms of goals and assists is still pretty poor, given the minutes he's now had.

I don't rate him at all.

It's alright everyone still saying he's only 21 etc etc, but most of the decent young players in world football have already had an impact by that point. How old was Giggs? Becks? Scholes? Rooney? Even the likes of Deli Ali...

You've just compared him to (barring Ali) some of the best players ever in the premier league.

He's never going to be that good but he might be good enough for us and possibly the to six.
