Yes but it proves that deals can be done without the entire thing playing out in the tabloid press and through Sky Bet odds and ITK tittle tattle.

Agreed on that - I suspect because it involves a foreign club who have no desire in their culture for all this transfer hype.

People shouldn't expect that just because he's played further forward and has scored some goals that he's actually a creative force, though.

They're not bringing in Banega as a like for like replacement. Banega pulls the strings, Iborra is mostly just solid.

I hope we're still interested in a Boudebouz, Sigurdsson or similar because the lack of creativity in our squad is appalling.

All of the above! To be honest I think that rather going for him preemptively, we probably heard he was available at the price and thought "we would be mad not to get him."

Last year when Drinky went through a bad patch we looked awful, so think Iborra can do a job there when needed. With his physical presence, I think we will see him further up the field though as an alternative to Okazaki. Let's face it, we love smashing the ball up field and he will win the ball more often than not when that happens.

I wonder if he speaks English, because that could be a problem with our group of players. I think he may be ideal for our current style of play though, quite an exciting one this. He comes across as a real Warrior that will get stuck in and play scrappy. Shakespeare loves us to play aggressively and on the front foot, and think this type of player is ideal for that play style, that's why the Sevilla faithful love him.

Yeah he's a workhorse apparently so its a possibility he's the new no.10 that can win balls in the air and drive into the box...

Surely means goodbye to Mendy.

yep.

Few French teams in for him, including his old club Nice. No doubt we'll make a loss on him!

No, he won't be driving anywhere and he definitely won't be frantically bombing around like Okazaki chasing the ball.

For a comparison athletically, think Ulloa but with much better passing and touch.

So where do you think he'll play in our side?

Good bit of business this.

Vast experience in Europe and will have the big team mentality in him having achieved a lot of success at Sevilla.

He looks comfortable on the ball and isn't afraid to take people on.

A strong, physical presence which adds an extra dimension to our game - because lets face it, when we get a corner we're really relying on Huth.

And he appears to be versatile, given the amount of positions he's been played in.

And all that for around £13m.

Happy days.

Now lets go get Siggy, Gibson, and Iheanacho too:wasyl:

In theory this should be a good signing - despite the raving about Ndidi we are woefully short of quality in midfield. Sounds like a solid addition, I'd hope he plays regularly, particularly away from home where the extra work rate, height & physical presence will come in handy.

Check out the translations of some of the tweets from fans in response to Seville's tweet. They're not happy at all, which bodes well. I particularly like this one:

"Keep selling major players all age, who is missing the whores cocaine with the commissions of the signings eh! vamooooos!"

lol

@SevillaFC @LCFC @Iborra_Vicente But like me you sell to iborra, that shit is this? you are dismantling the club, this year is going to buy the fertilizer your whore mother

Centre mid. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure where he starts right now. I don't see him leaving Sevilla to be a Leicester squad player.

We obviously need better depth than Andy King if we want to progress but I'm not currently sure where Iborra fits if we keep our same system.

I don't see him as mobile enough to be part of a two man midfield over Drinkwater and Ndidi who are probably the area of our team that needs improving the least.

Maybe we see Ndidi as having a future at CB (seems a waste to me) or maybe we're going to play three in the middle. Or maybe we just want options.

Not sure really.

Dunno if it's been posted (I avoid transfer threads because of the gross levels of baseless conjecture) but the dude had a pretty banging 15/16 for a cm (couldn't find highlights for last season but looking at transfermarkt his return was pretty similar):

We might actually be a deadly threat from set pieces with this guy and Maguire joining.

Get Sigurdsson in and we'll score 10 a game.
