 Jobs for the boys

Sums up the way the club is being run nicely.

DOF is spectacularly out of his depth and is an internal promotion with a reputation for grovelling before the owners.

Manager is the former assistant who's chummy with all of the players. Next to no experience of running a football club, let alone a Premier League one.

Ulloa being given chance after chance despite the fact that he publically stated he never wanted to play for us again, is obviously past it  and doesn't even provide a unique "big man" option now we have Slimani.

If we line up with Drinkwater in a midfield 2 on the opening day it's hard to imagine anything other than a hammering (only the memory of saying something similar 4 years ago is preventing me going further on that one).

Meanwhile every player we've signed since we won the league (with the exception of Ndidi who was replacing somebody no longer at the club) has thus far proven a poor signing, failing to get a run in the team or integrated into our style of play at all despite being successes to varying degrees of greatness at previous clubs.

Good luck to Harry Maguire coming in and replacing one of Huth or Morgan. He'll need it.

From memory O'Neill never had a perfect pre season campaign.

Tatter peeler did.

That went well.

Sousa another to suffer the curse of a good pre season.

Champagne football beating Peterborough 4-0.

Its application as much anything; the games are played at a slow pace and no one really wants to bust a gut. They either low scoring games or daft scores.

However making such a clear split in personnel by shakey is a real bad move IMO. I'd rather them do 70/20 splits than 90 mins. Mix the teams up a bit. Put James in with the better players around him for example. Similar with Gray and Lawrence

Missed this friendly completely, but reading the last few pages of the match thread make for uncomfortable reading. In fact you could have copied and pasted it from the match threads from the sad last days of Ranieri.

I do hope we have a few tricks up our sleeve regards to signings as it's been clear for a long time we are badly lacking in creativity in midfield, clearly this was identified with the Ramirez transfer bid in January and the Sigurdsson bid this summer. We need to follow up and tie up other targets if our first choices cannot be obtained and not give up like we did last season with Keane and with Ramirez in January.

Honestly though people already calling for Shakespeare to go ?

We loose a meaningless friendly that was nothing.more than a training session for us and foxestalk goes into meltdown.

Wow just wow ?

For the last time, ITS NOT ABOUT WINNING OR LOSING! I can except a defeat but I can't except a dreadful display of "tactics" and "football". The team looks exactly like how it did with Claudio last season.

Now that was embarrassing. Just shows what players we have at Leicester. The same attitude that got Ranieri sacked will inevitably get Shakespeare sacked. I am sorry but their true colours are coming through again. Last season Ranieri knew that the system we had played was sussed out and tried to adjust. The revolt started. Now Shakey trying to get these cry babies to change a little and it looks like the great sulk is back on. Said it last season and still strongly believe we have a squad of primadonnas. Need to get rid of certain players who feel they are Good. Drinky, Vardy, Mahrez, Slimani etc. The obvious little click groups. Conspiring. I know we would be wrecked has a team but club needs to put their foot down. No more little toe rags

I know it was only a friendly but what's the point unless you are going to practice passing, defending and attacking.Did we even have a shot on goal? If it's just a fitness thing they could have gone on a 10 mile jog.

Yes seem to remember Trevor Benjamin scoring 5 goals against Ibstock Welfare in 2001-02 pre season.

We struggled against Lincoln and Mansfield in the season we won the league !!!

There seems to be two sides here to a one sided issue.

We don't look very good we don't keep the ball well we don't get the ball down in front of goal and other than Riyad we don't score..

Drinky looks half asleep

The game next Friday at KP needs to be played at full on pace with the first team playing for a start place .

Get Riyad in the office with Top and sort out a deal to keep him interested free haircuts if required .

Can you see Iheanacho actually wanting to come here?..

Relegation battle ahead.

He'd get more service from a waiter with no arms or legs

It's concerning and we want to be winning games but pre-season really is boring and rubbish to read into as a fan.

As others have mentioned we usually have pretty poor friendlies, I seem to remember us having fairly poor pre season friendles and doing well in the league yet the one season we did have a good one I seem to remember us having an awful season, i'm not saying that is a trend to follow but i'm just saying pre season and friendlies are anything to worry about, it's purely fitness, don't care about the results, as i've said the way we're playing is slightly concerning the way we are playing but hopefully that's a kick up the backside/making us focus on what needs to be done.

Very disappointing performance, though it might have been a very different game had Vards scored that open goal early on. Hard to pick out anyone who played well; even Ndidi had such a poor game, missing a lot of tackles. We looked vulnerable defensively and pedestrian in attack. And, worryingly, who could we bring in from the team who played v MK who is better? Hoping we can put today's debacle down to rustiness and we'll be much better in the next 2 games. Surely we must get better?

Find it quite strange no1 saying how poor ndidi was fort he was rubbish at least has bad has drinkwater if not worse we need a new rightback a creative midfielder a striker another cb another winger and all these players after first of all be good technical players so we can keep hold of the ball

The pre seasons to a certain degree do count....the results no, but the performances yes....we've not even looked remotely good....created plenty of chances or scored many....certainly reason for concern...Maguire is a very good signing, but I fail to see how Iborra will improve us a) he will never play anyway because DD and N'didi wind budge, and even so we don't play a style that suits him. I do think giving the job Shakey full time will come back to bite us, it's a whole different ball game being numero uno....

I suppose after we've lost 4 out of our 5 opening games we'll hear, 'Our season wont be defined by our results against the top teams' etc etc.

Not sure why really but there's far too many apologists on here who bury their head in the sand and pretend we're not shit and our recruitment is just fine. "it's only pre-season, it's not about winning" / "it's the top sides, what do you expect?" / "we're only Leicester we can't attract x or y", etc. bla bla bla.

Actually we've got a terrible recruitment policy, we should be aiming to win any time we step onto a pitch for 90 minutes irrespective of the occasion and we look absolutely ****ing ropey as shit atm. Why accept such mediocre effort?
