Bossman Blessed It Posted 30 August 2017 Posted 30 August 2017 Firstly, I think it's only fair to respect his ambition as a player - whether he plays or not is a risk he's taking and this could well be his only chance to go to a World Cup; his stance to do so is improved if he's playing in European football and for a team challenging for the title (which I don't doubt Chelsea will). Perhaps Conte wants to use him every game, perhaps he will only play in the EFL cup. Either way, at 27 years old he's probably realised that it's a unique opportunity to try to win more before he begins to decline. From our point of view, obviously the down side is that we are lacking in quality centre midfielders. I am really excited to see Iborra start and play, but losing Drinky means that we do need to sign someone who can shift the ball forward quickly. On the plus side, Drinkwater has served us fantastically over his time here and put in a few displays/ scored a few goals that will live long in the memory. Moreover, his injuries last season might prove to be more of a hurdle than we know, so cashing in now probably suits.

Dier is one of the most one dimensional footballers I've seem, hugely overrated. We're right to demand at least £35m in this market I think. Dier is slow and massively over rated. Not many people believe us though.

My initial reaction was one of distaste tbh. As bad as Mahrez was for laying his cards down on the table at the earliest opportunity, sticking these cards down with 24 hours to go is a disgrace imo. Some of these players ought to look at themselves and thank the club for how far they've taken them and treat the place with a little more decorum. He signed a four year contract the other year, flaming well honour it. Too much power to the players and nutty agents who offer poor advice. Bout time football clubs put them in their place. This doesn't work out, which looks likely, how does your face fit around the place once the dust has settled? Poor, poor showing from the player imo. Superb post totally agree
Matt Posted 30 August 2017 Posted 30 August 2017 Well the transfer request puts a new spin on it for me. Perhaps a bitter, contradictory, hypocritical twist? I'm not really sure what word describes my feelings really. I said last week he could go, for the rumoured more of £35m. Obviously that was what it was, a rumour, turns out it seems to be much less than that. I stuck up for him yesterday when someone said 'he's as bad as Mahrez' how is he?! He's kept quiet, kept out of media and staying quiet and dignified. Then I learnt of the transfer request, now he is as bad as Mahrez and I have reasons/beliefs why, Chelsea are miles of what we're asking, that is why he's handed this transfer request in, to force our hand, or try. I saw this tweet earlier and its bang on; This is now the question, do Chelsea really want him, certainly at what we're asking? Gonna be an awkward situation for Drinkwater if he does stay now, probably more so that Mahrez, we all knew Mahrez wanted a move this summer, it came as no surprise, Drinkwater and his actions have come as a surprise.

I could hold some sympathy for Drinkwater if we were paying him £40k a week and refusing £35m offers but he's on £90k a week and we've been offered £23m. The club are well within their rights to refuse paltry but hostile offers and Drinkwater comes across as a twat for throwing his toys out the pram because the club aren't bending over for him. Chelsea don't want him badly enough to pay a fee we consider worthwhile to us. They've tried to get him on the cheap and will abandon him soon enough to pick up the pieces at Leicester.

HankMarvin Posted 30 August 2017 Posted 30 August 2017 Sanches to Swansea would surely be the deal of the season so far SWANSEA CITY are reportedly set to pull off a major transfer coup by securing the signing of Bayern Muncih star Renato Sanches. The Portuguese international midfielder is joining Paul Clement’s outfit on a 12-month loan deal from the Bundesliga giants with the option for a £30million move next summer. And the move is due to be announced within the next couple of hours, according to Italian Sky Sport journalist Gianluca Di Marzio. Sanches has been told he can leave Bayern on loan despite only joining the Bavarians a year ago. French giants Monaco and Premier League high-flyers Liverpool were also keen, but Clement’s links with his former employers at the Allianz Arena has enabled him to complete the audacious switch.

It's a joke, we're not even competing or showing the same ambitions as Swansea! SWANSEA!!! Outgoing transfers aside i'm talking incoming transfers.

st albans fox Posted 30 August 2017 Posted 30 August 2017 not ITK but here is a possible scenario...... DD's people know that the two sides are well apart on valuation/bid so decide to try help to narrow the gap by privately putting in a transfer request to lose his loyalty bonus. we know that LCFC don't generally leak transfer info so the story would not have come from here. thereafter, Chelsea become ever more desperate re home grown acquisitions, especially given the ox's decision to snub them on what they believed was an agreed deal. a sign of their desperation to try and force us to compromise on the price is to leak the information re the transfer request. of course, knowing how agents can sometimes be less than scrupulous, it could even be DD's agent who has muddied the waters. drinkwater may have been hung out to dry here by Chelsea or his agent. we shouldn't necessarily jump to conclusions.

Their's no quotes from him or his agent or anyone. Don't be to harsh on him till their's concrete evidense. Sky sports, i think, the company that put billions into the premier league so clubs can pay extortionate fees for players in order to raise the profile of the league so they can employ tasty ladies with even bigger tits than the last lot to promote it even further and sell it to a bigger audience which in turn generates more money that can be given to the clubs and start the cycle again. The very same company that also manipulate the betting odds in order to suck punters into placing 10p bets on player movements therefore making them believe they know whats going on at clubs, these punters then graduate on to become ITK's. The very same company that are also passing on snippets of information to "reliable" media outlets who in turn put out cryptic tweets that leave everyone baffled as to what is going on. All in the name of deadline day, which unfortunately for us, will see our club lose at least 5 of our best players and will only have half an hour to replace them, but that's okay because we have a jet and a helicopter.
SecretPro Posted 30 August 2017 Posted 30 August 2017 Get Iborra fit and bench DD until he learns to show the club that's made him a bit of respect.

Just because quotes don't appear in the media it doesn't mean things aren't accurate. I get it on Twitter when I post some transfer news after being briefed. "What's your source? Where's the quotes? You're talking rubbish." etc etc. There's always a danger of the briefing info being inaccurate of course. Or it might be right at the time but then the transfer doesn't materialise. I end up muting most of the keyboard warriors who get snotty in their replies.
