Why didn't he deny it then?

this whole thing has only run coz danny wanted out.  (Despite signing for five years in return for loads of money... but I ranted about that earlier... I must move on.).  Yet I see the "transfer request" as a sign that he is starting to panic that the deal isn't going to get done. Its the only leverage he has to make city compromise.... I bet is agent is in bits!  One swallow doesn't make a summer but for those of us willing it to fail this point is a useful waymarker

He's put in a transfer request ..   So what ...    I asked Mrs CF for steak and chips for dinner ..   But I didn't get it ...    Tell him to fook off and wind his neck in ...    If we don't get the money we want he ain't going anywhere.

The worrying thing for me is the fact he said with the clubs ambition he could stay here his whole career, so does that mean since the title win and champions league journey the owners are happy now to just be a mid table premier league side?

Perhaps not happy with how they were tarnished last season after Ranieri got sacked and wants a fresh start elsewhere. A lot can change in a year in anyone's life. He's also just had a baby, the extra £40,000 a week ain't to be ignored.

If he's going to be paid £130k a week by Chelsea then perhaps they should offer a transfer fee befitting of a £130k a week player.

I think, drinkwater aside, Mrs CF is right.  red meat can stay in the intestines for several months - weakening the immune system and causing a leaky gut; while chips can cause hardening of the arteries.  I recommend a paleo diet of stone age grains with lashing of raw veg - you might want to investigate colonics.  BTW - drink water

maybe its true but maybe its not as blk/white as it seems ..................

players and clubs wont give a running commentary on transfer dealings.

C'mon. Two well informed journalists confirmed (Matt Law and John Percy). The transfer request is in every newspaper. The only question is when it did land on the club's table. He wants there, the thigh strain is more than suspect and Chelsea are on him but don't want to pay 40M (which I can understand). I know he's the fans favourite here but there is a limit.

Edit: I'm still convinced that the deal won't be done.

More proof Vardy is an all time LCFC legend. DD should take a leaf out of his book

The whole league winning squad are legends in my eyes - Kante included!

Vardy rejected Arsenal, generally goes about his business not sulking and shows loyalty to the club that showed him loyalty... I love the fella!!

The rest however whinging they want a transfer when (a) the buying club aren't prepared to pay (b) have a bumper new contract (c) will probably just sit on the buying teams bench forever

Fair enough, I share your love for JV but the whole squad gave me something I never dreamed I'd see or experience. They'll all go down in Leicester folklore as the  legends who won the league.

I don't expect a consensus on here. The rush to defend him at the time was as embarrassing as it was ignorant. The guy is about as dislikeable as footballers come. Take your blue specs off and you would see most football fans in agreement.

Dress it up all you want but someone capable of racially abusing people should be no inspiration to young people, whatever other positive characteristics they may have.

Come on mate - Muhammed Ali was involved in one of the most controversial movements of his era with the Nation of Islam, are you saying he should be no inspiration to people? Fidel Castro held some appalling views regarding homo-sexuality, but surely he can inspire people? I'm not comparing Vardy to either, but using those as examples to illustrate a fairly obvious point.
